Fang Chi and Ye Liu did not go too far in the mountains. They only wanted to bring so fertile soil for their vegetable patch and rose garden. If possible they wanted to hunt a pheasant or two as well. Even though they had a daily supply of chicken and at, the two rs sotis missed the taste of roasted pheasant.
"Brother Liu, it’s good here. The grass here is greener and the plants seem to be growing nicely as well. I think we can dig the soil from this plot of land," Fang Chi said to Ye Liu as he placed the bucket and turned to look at the mammies behind him. "Dig out the plants and place them on the cart, I and Brother Liu will scoop the soil in the buckets."
"Yes, Master Fang," the mammies nodded as they started digging the plants. Once they were gone, Ye Liu couldn’t help but question, "Why do you need to dig fertile soil? With Dong Dong’s presence, do you still need to do sothing so taxing?"
Yu Dong could make a barren piece of land fertile. There was no need for them to work so hard, right?
"I know but I don’t want to stay at ho all the ti," Fang Chi also knew that Yu Dong could help him with her spiritual powers but he liked coming out and doing such nial jobs. It made him feel happy and grounded. "This is one of the things that I enjoy doing and don’t want to change anything about it. Think of it as a hobby, Brother Liu?"
Ye Liu of course understood Fang Chi’s words. He too liked to hunt wild ga even though Yu Dong was the owner of a slaughterhouse. Instead of staying at ho and doing nothing, it was better to co out and enjoy doing sothing that they liked.
He nodded and said, "Well then, I will make so traps and place them around." He was craving rabbit at for a while and wanted to eat a braised rabbit head. However, Yu Dong was too busy to co hunting in the mountains, if that was the case then he might as well set so traps.
Ye Liu made so makeshift traps with ropes and sharp wooden stakes. He then poured the bait that he carried with him all the ti and dropped the water drops in the traps. He then returned where he was and started helping Fang Chi scoop the soil.
The two rs worked for three hours before standing up.
"Let’s check the traps?" Ye Liu said to Fang Chi who nodded. He wiped his hands and walked over to where Ye Liu had hidden the traps. Unsurprisingly, the first trap had two pheasants caught in it and the second one had a rabbit.
Ye Liu was overjoyed to see the rabbit trapped in the trap as the ones at ho were hard to butcher. The kids liked the rabbit too much and wouldn’t let him butcher even one of them. While the rest of the rabbits were taken to the slaughterhouse.
Most of them were butchered and sold every day, leaving Ye Liu to only stay quiet while suppressing his cravings. Now that he had caught a rabbit, he was going to eat it no matter what!
The two of them did not go far in the mountains, Ye Liu had only set two more traps. One of them had another rabbit, which was plumper than the first one and the other one was empty.
However ——
"Blood… there is blood!" Yu Mai exclaid as he looked at the wooden stakes.
"How co there is blood in the trap if nothing was caught?" Ye Liu questioned with a frown on his face. There was the sll of blood in the air but the trap was empty.
He imdiately felt that there was sothing wrong and was about to tell Fang Chi to go down with the kids. They couldn’t be careless in the mountains.
Although the beasts did not co down in the morning, who could predict the thoughts and actions of a beast?
A famine and drought was going on, he was afraid that the beasts would co down the mountains at any ti in search of food.
"It’s a ow ow! It’s a cat! Brother-in-law, it’s a cat!" Yu Mai exclaid as he turned around and rushed to the front before bringing out a pure white cat. It was injured because of being caught in a trap but sohow managed to escape.
"It looks a bit fierce," said Fang Chi as he crouched down and looked at the small cat that had button-like ears and blue eyes. He had never seen a cat as majestic and beautiful as this. Even though he was covered with mud and blood, the cat looked really good.
What was more even though he was injured, he was hissing and spitting at them. As if he would swipe at them at any mont.

"It’s too young, I don’t think it has been weaned yet. His mother should be sowhere around here," though Ye Liu said that, he was worried that the mother cat was probably dead. After all, in such circumstances, even humans could not raise their children and abandoned them at the doorsteps of the rich ones.
So what was a cat capable of?
Yu Mai and the children however did not care about the worries of the adults. They saw the small cat and imdiately fell in love with him.
"Brother-in-law, can we take him ho?" The small cat was rather defensive at first but as he settled down among the small group of people, he turned affectionate, most probably due to the scent of spiritual water.
Ye Liu looked at the child and wanted to refuse but Yu Mai was not alone, Yu Jin and Bo Bo were with him as well. The three looked at Ye Liu who could only helplessly agree with them, "Alright. If you want to raise this cat, then raise it."
They were not poor. They could raise a cat.
However what Ye Liu and the rest of the family did not know was that as soon as they walked away, a giant white panther with black spots walked out of its hiding place and glanced at her son with heartache in her eyes.
