Yu Mai was scared silly when he heard the howl of a wild animal. He did not know whether it was the coyotes that his sister raised or any other wild animal. He imdiately turned to look at Li Yuya and said to her, "Sister Yuya, we…we should go back."

"What are you scared of?" Li Yuya said with a smile on her face. She looked confident as she said to Yu Mai, "I am training, I can take the wild animal down."

In the storybook, her princess took the dragon down. She could definitely take down a wolf, right?

When Yu Mai heard that Li Yuya was not willing to leave, he wanted to leave her alone but when he thought about how they were deep in the forest, he changed his mind. He said to Li Yuya, "Sister Yuya, Mai doesn’t like staying here. Let us go."

"I don’t want to!"

"But it’s dangerous!"

"Then you go!"

Li Yuya was stubborn as well. She wanted to beco a princess like the one in the storybook only then she would be able to save her father from bullies like her mother and the won in the town who tried to tease her father. If she beca strong then her daddy wouldn’t have to worry about anything, nor would he have to listen to Grandma Yu telling him that he needed to remarry.

Even her mother would stop bothering Yu Ji every second day by asking him to co back with her.

They would be able to live a happy life together. As her daddy would rely on her and not on mammies!

Li Yuya wanted to grow up soon but she couldn’t, so she could only do training and beco strong enough to beat anyone who bothered her daddy.

As she thought about her future with her father where no one would bother them, Li Yuya closed her eyes and then started to ditate as if it was really going to help her!

After all, this was no longer just a matter of self-respect to her!

When Yu Mai saw that Li Yuya was not willing to listen, he was speechless. He could not understand why his sister was not listening to him when he was saying that it was dangerous.

He looked around the forest that was shrouded in darkness and shivered. The wind rustled past them causing the leaves of the trees to move, however each ti the leaves of the tree rubbed against one another, they created a scary and eerie sound. It scared Yu Mai so much that he jumped, a part of him wanted to run away but another part was telling him that he could not leave his sister alone.

So caught between the two conflicting thoughts, he stayed where he was while holding his hands in front of him.

Behind him, Little Heart who followed the two kids stiffened. It stepped forward and barked while looking back at the other three dogs who barked in response and then turned to run away.

Seeing the three dogs running away, Yu Mai felt sothing was wrong. He looked at Little Heart who was growling and hissing at sothing in front of them and his heart suddenly turned cold. Was there sothing in front of them? Was it a wild animal? A ghost? A demon!?

What was it?

Yu Mai wanted to say sothing but his mouth seed to have been sewn tightly. Instead, he raised his hands to pull Li Yuya however the latter remained put. In her childish mind, Li Yuya did not seem to be doing anything dangerous. If anything, she thought that it was Yu Mai who did not understand her situation as he was well-loved by his family and no one bothered his sister because she was strong.

She wanted to be the sa!

Such that no one would bother her father.

"What is the matter with you, why are you pulling ?" Li Yuya finally opened her eyes. She had never seen any sort of danger in her life as Yu Ji had protected her quite well even if their lives were not good. She did not understand how dangerous these places could be.

Yu Mai opened his mouth. He wanted to say that Li Yuya was being foolish and troubleso when suddenly——

The sound of growling erupted in their ears and the two kids turned to look back at the dark surroundings. They could not see anything, however Little Heart did see what was hiding in the dark. It trembled with fright but because of his loyalty, he stayed in front of Yu Mai and barked loudly.

But compared to the scary growls and howls, the pup’s barks sounded cute and adorable. They did not seem threatening at all, which would explain why the footsteps coming toward them never stopped. If anything, they beca louder and louder.

"S…Sister Yuya, let’s run! We should run." Yu Mai pulled Li Yuya with him but no matter how he pulled Li Yuya the latter remained put.

However, this ti around it was not because of her stubbornness. It was because she could see what ca down the mountain!

"S…Sister Yuya? What’s the matter?" Yu Mai questioned Li Yuya. Was she still stubbornly insisting that she was going to train and fight with this wild animal? If so then…then he was going to leave her alone!

Of course, he would call his sister to co and help Li Yuya.

Li Yuya’s legs started to tremble, her eyes popped out of their sockets as she looked at the trees and the leaves that were moving. Soon, a bear as big as a small mountain stepped forward and ca to a stop in front of them.

It looked at the children with its an, beady black eyes and then ——

"GROWL!!!!"

"AHHHHHH!!!"
