Luo Huian! Luo Huian! Luo Huian!
Gu Sirou felt like she was going crazy. Why was it that every ti sothing went wrong, this woman’s na would be brought up?
She turned to look at the board of directors, who were staring at her, and snapped, "What are you looking at for? Go and find out how that woman got such a precious and important piece of information!?"
The second she finished speaking, the board of directors got up from their seats and ran out of the boardroom; they didn’t even wait for Gu Sirou to say that the eting had been adjourned.
Gu Sirou watched them run and snorted. Though she enjoyed inciting fear in the hearts of these puny humans, she sotis found their lack of courage a bit annoying. Why did they have to run before she could even take out her anger properly?
She picked up her phone, which was sitting on the round table and looked at the many news stories and forums that were speaking and singing praises of the Heavens’ Knights Guild. When she thought about how this glory could have belonged to her, her heart started to burn once again.
The itch was so bad that she wished she could turn ti back and snatch this dungeon from Luo Qingling. However, she knew that only the highest immortal with the strongest cultivation could change the ti back. As for her, she would never be able to touch that level if she stayed trapped in this world.
"How long? Just how long do I need to wait until I can ascend again?" Gu Sirou gritted her teeth and cursed out loud. If only she had soone like Luo Huian by her side, she was certain that she would have most certainly ascended by now.
When she thought about Luo Huian, Gu Sirou frowned and called the man whom she had arranged. It had been days; why hadn’t that man made a move till now?
On the other hand, Luo Huian had no idea that she was this popular that people were rushing to trap her. She ca to a stop near a small park and heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that no one was chasing after her. It was a good thing that she ran away before things went awry, or else she would have been locked up before she said that it was unfair.
"They have really turned crazy," Luo Huian remarked as she walked over to a bench and sat down to ease her thumping heartbeat. She couldn’t believe that Madam Han actually ca up with the idea of putting a freaking GPS on her body. Did she look like a bloody criminal?
"Humans are like this," Xiao Hei sounded way too smug for Luo Huian’s liking as he said to her, "They get greedy when they get their hands on sothing useful, sothing that can turn the tides around. However, in the immortal world, there is no such thing. There is no greed. So you don’t have to worry about being tied and trapped."
Luo Huian scoffed. "Yeah. I need to worry about when I will be caught and then dragged to the punishnt grounds and then whipped until I am almost dead. I don’t know about you, but I would rather take being trapped than being killed."
"It’s less painful."
)
Xiao Bai turned and glanced at Xiao Hei, whose face had turned a sickly green. She said, "She got you there."
"Shut up." Xiao Hei glared at Xiao Bai and then said to her, "I am still trying to make her change her mind; what about you? What are you even doing?"
Xiao Bai flicked her tongue. "Well—"
"Don’t say that the immortals were at fault first. I have heard it before, and I have no intention of listening to it again." Xiao Hei was really upset. Why couldn’t Xiao Bai and Luo Huian see that he was only doing this for their benefit? They were not humans. What was the point in staying in this world? Though Luo Huian was sent to this world for punishnt, she was still not a human.
Her soul was that of an immortal; she was destined to ascend back to the immortal realm even if she didn’t want that to happen. And when that happened, Old Lady Luo wouldn’t be pleased.
Of course, this was sothing that Luo Huian also knew, but she had no intention of worrying about this matter for the ti being. She would think about her ascent to the immortal realm later on.
[Heavy Gloom Aura detected.]
Luo Huian paused and turned to look at the old r who was sitting on the bench next to hers. The r was dressed in a baggy flower pants that she had seen the old won and r in the village wear. He was also wearing a loose shirt that was too big for him and wiping his eyes with a dirty handkerchief.
Seeing this, Luo Huian pursed her lips and then handed him her clean handkerchief.
The old r paused when he saw a slender and pale hand handing him a handkerchief. He raised his head and looked at Luo Huian, who was sitting on the bench next to him and sniffed. "Thank you so much; you are a kind woman, Miss."
"There is no need to thank ." Luo Huian waved her hand and then said to the old r, "You can use it if you don’t mind."
"Of –of course not," the old r bowed his head and quickly wiped his old face with the handkerchief. However, as soon as he finished wiping his face, he saw that the clean handkerchief had turned completely black. His already dark face turned even darker as he blushed furiously.
He said to Luo Huian, "I am sorry. This handkerchief turned dirty... what’s the price of this handkerchief? I will pay you."
Luo Huian glanced at the patched and frayed clothes that the old r was wearing and shook her head. She said to him, "There is no need for you to pay . I have a lot of handkerchiefs like this. You can use it as you like."
The old r was quite touched when he saw Luo Huian not looking at him with disgust. He was not from the capital and ca from a small countryside; because of this, there were a lot of people who looked down at him. Ever since he arrived in the city, the old r had no idea how many tis he had been condemned by others for not knowing the simple things.
This was the first ti soone had treated him like he was human.
"Thank you... I don’t know how I should repay you—" He was still speaking when there was a loud growl, and the old r blushed even harder. He looked down at his belly, which was flat and grumbling due to hunger. Now that he thought about it, he hadn’t eaten anything since he ca to this place.
All of his money had been stolen, or soone had fooled him into paying double the price.
Because of this, the money that he had collected and brought with him to the city was gone. Now he didn’t even have the money to buy a bun and eat it.
"You haven’t eaten?" Luo Huian asked as she looked at the old r.
She knew that the old r was in trouble, but she never knew that he was in such trouble that he couldn’t even eat anything.
The old r’s face turned even redder. He shook his head and then said, "I was scamd by the taxi drivers and so vendors. They sold goods that I didn’t want and dropped in places where I didn’t want to go. That’s how they took all of my money."
After he finished speaking, the old r started crying again.
When Luo Huian saw that the old r had started crying, she was simply speechless; she couldn’t help but wonder how this r had survived till now. If he were this naive, then wouldn’t he be bullied to death?
Luo Huian couldn’t help but shake her head. She wondered what kind of trouble she had gotten herself into and then sighed. She then got to her feet and said to the old r, "Co on. I will buy you a bowl of noodles."
After she finished speaking, she walked out of the small park, leaving the old r to stare at her with confusion and disbelief. He was also a little wary because of this, but then he thought about how he had nothing in his hands other than his life.
Unless Luo Huian was a psychopath who loved to kill others just for fun, then there was no problem in following her.
And what if she were truly as kind as he thought she was? Then he could at least get a bowl of noodles.
