Chapter 572: The Mischievous Elf

“What nonsense!” Fan ilin snapped harshly. He looked at the servants who were making false rumours about his wife and questioned, “Why would my wife do such a stupid thing?”

His tone was rather harsh, which left the servants speechless.

However, a few of the servants were still not having it. One of them stepped forward and then said to Fan ilin, “We are not making unwanted rumours, Master Fan. We really saw Miss Luo heading over to Madam Luo’s room, and we—”

“So you deed her the culprit? Just because she entered the room of her mother?” Fan ilin was even more furious after hearing the explanation. Didn’t the sa thing happen to him? It was Liao Hong who chased after him. It was she who swept him off his feet, but when she was about to get married, sohow he was the one who chased after her and ended up causing trouble for her.

And because that woman lied, all sorts of rumours started to float around the city, which tainted his reputation.

The one thing that he hated the most was when people gossiped and spread rumours without understanding the consequences.

He glanced at the servants, who didn’t say a word and sneered. “You think that you all are the judges of the court? Neither of you saw my wife doing anything wrong, and yet you are all talking as if you had seen her push my mother-in-law. What if she only went to her room to see what happened or how my mother-in-law fell?”

“Forgive us, Master Fan—”

“There is no need to apologise to ,” stated Fan ilin coldly. “I will be telling this to my father-in-law. Let him deal with you.”

After speaking, he turned on his feet and walked upstairs.

When the servants heard that Fan ilin was going to tell everything to Ye Shun, they panicked. They all knew how much Ye Shun adored his daughter; if he found out that they had claid Luo Huian was a murderer, and that too of her own mother, he would definitely fire them!

“It’s all your fault!” the old maid turned to look at the newly hired maid and scolded her angrily. “Why did you say such things? Now look at this. We all are going to be dragged down because of you.”

The new maid was also flustered, but she didn’t show it on her face. She glared at the old woman and said to her, “I didn’t do anything wrong. I just thought—”

The servants started to quibble, but this had nothing to do with Fan ilin. After he finished handing out the orders, he turned to walk upstairs and headed towards Luo Huian’s room. When he ca to a stop in front of her room, he raised his hand and knocked on Luo Huian’s door.

“Co in.”

Luo Huian’s muffled voice echoed from behind the door, and Fan ilin pushed open the door. When he entered the room, he saw Luo Huian sitting on the floor and playing a ga. She raised her head upon hearing the sound of footsteps entering her door and smiled at him with a soft look.

“You are here? How can I help you?”

Anger was bubbling in Fan ilin’s veins, but he cald down when he saw that Luo Huian was still smiling and didn’t look like she was upset with what happened downstairs. Maybe she didn’t even pay attention to the servants who were talking nonsense.

He walked over to where she was sitting and plopped down next to her before wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her close. He placed her on his lap and then buried his face into the crook of her neck.

Luo Huian stiffened for a few seconds, but then she cald down and let him hug her as he liked. She didn’t pull away, which brought comfort to Fan ilin’s heart. At least she was no longer disgusted by her.

“Is sothing the matter?” Luo Huian asked as she pressed the buttons of the console.

“It’s nothing,” Fan ilin answered as he pulled his face upwards and then looked at the screen where Luo Huian had killed a group of zombies. “The company keeps asking to start racing again.”

Though the company was the one who shadow-banned him, they also had the right to ask him to co back and start racing again. Fan ilin had used all of his holidays, and the company was now pressuring him to join the race that was next week. Or more like it was Liao Hong who kept pressuring him.

“You don’t want to?” Luo Huian asked.

“It is not a matter of whether or not I want to,” Fan ilin smiled and answered. “It is the company’s decision in the end; I can only follow through.” Liao Hong still had a lot of things in her hands; if he didn’t listen to her, that woman might ruin his life.

Luo Huian didn’t say anything. She just closed the ga and leaned against Fan ilin. Since the r was feeling upset, she would do what she could for him; of course, she would not go to ask him why he wouldn’t leave the company. If he could, then Fan ilin would have done it by now.

Since he didn’t, then there might be a reason.

She would wait for the r to be more open with her, and she would help him solve the problem then.

Fan ilin was glad that Luo Huian was not asking him why he was a bit moody today. He picked her up and brought her to the bed, which was right behind them. As he lay Luo Huian down on the bed, the r climbed on top of the bed and spooned the woman. He felt warm and content with Luo Huian in his arms.

“Huian, I was—”

He raised his head and was about to speak when he saw the woman in his arms turn into an old woman. Her face was wrinkled, and her eyes were bleeding. The woman was smiling at him creepily, which sent Fan ilin off the bed.

“AHHHH!!”

The r scread as his eyes rolled back into their sockets and he fainted right then and there.

Luo Huian, who saw his series of actions, was speechless. She snapped her fingers, and the charm around her broke. She then turned to look at the elf who was hanging by the ceiling upside down and stated, “It seems like you are having fun causing trouble for innocent people.”

The elf who was laughing choked. He then turned to look at Luo Huian before stamring, “You–You can see ?” He thought humans couldn’t see him!

“Of course I can,” sneered Luo Huian as she sent a wave of spiritual force and knocked the elf down the roof.

The elf was not prepared for such a move; his eyes widened, and he dropped to the floor with his face hitting the ground first. He raised his head and body with the help of his hands and turned to look at Luo Huian. His eyes were filled with shock as he questioned, “You…are you an immortal?”

Luo Huian crossed her legs and calmly looked at the elf in front of her. She had never dealt with elves, but Luo Huian knew that elves were weak, really weak when compared to immortals. While they all followed the sa principles, the immortals went through many troubles compared to the elves, which gave them a bit more power over them.

Even though half of her powers were sealed, Luo Huian could still take down this elf who was just a child.

“Yes,” she replied in a calm voice. She looked at the elf and questioned, “Now, can you tell why you are causing trouble for this family? As far as I know, these people are nothing but humans. There is no way they could have gone to the immortal realm and stolen your goods.”

The elf who was kneeling on the floor shivered. Even though Luo Huian didn’t say anything harsh, the pressure alone was enough to make him bow his head and tremble under it. It was terrifying.

This woman —how strong was she? And why was she in the human world?

“I—I was just following the orders. The ring of the forest is with the head of this family, so I ca to retrieve it, but because the ring is a stolen good, I had to punish the head. I didn’t an any harm; I was just giving her the punishnt that she deserved.”

“Evidence?”

“What?” The elf raised his head and looked at Luo Huian in surprise.

“Where is the evidence?” Luo Huian asked in a bored voice. “You said that you are here to provide judgnt, then where is the evidence that the head of this family stole the ring? Hand it over to .”

When the elf heard her words, he lowered his head even further and spoke, “There—There is no evidence.”
