The emcee could only turn to look at the rest of the audience and urge them to make a bid.
At the sa ti, Mrs Pei was looking at Qi Yongrui. When she saw that he was holding the bidding board in his hand, she imdiately raised her hand and shouted, "10 million!"
Her voice was loud and booming; even Luo Huian and Qi Yongrui heard her. The two of them turned to look at her with a questioning look. But not because they were shocked that their bid was snatched by soone else, but because they never thought that soone would be foolish enough to buy sothing so cheap for ten million yuan.
They looked at one another before turning to look at Mrs Pei.
Luo Huian, on the other hand, narrowed her eyes and looked at Qi Liwei, who was sitting next to Mrs Pei. Her eyes flickered to the bidding board in Qi Yongrui's hand and then turned to look at Qi Liwei, who was peeking at them with a triumphant look in his eyes.
Her senses were sharper than others', so of course, Luo Huian could see what was going on.
An amused glint flashed in her eyes, and she said to Qi Yongrui, "Can you increase the bid?"
Surprised, Qi Yongrui turned to look at her. He questioned, "Didn't you say that they are fake? Why do you want to increase the bid?"
"Just listen to and increase the bid one ti," Luo Huian told Qi Yongrui. She wanted to see if things were just as she thought they were.
As soon as she finished speaking, Qi Yongrui frowned. But he still raised the bid, "Fifteen million."
The reason he didn't bid too high was that he was worried that they would end up bidding the highest. If he didn't know the true value of these jade bracelets, then he would have no problem wasting fifteen million on them, but now that he knew the true value, he just couldn't bring himself to waste so much money on sothing that was not even worthy of it.
However, just as he was worried that his bid would beco the highest, soone shouted out loud.
"Twenty million!"
Qi Yongrui raised his head and looked in the direction of the cry; he wondered who was so excited that they didn't even let the emcee start the bid. What kind of charm did they see in the bracelets?
"It is your dear brother." Luo Huian heaved a sigh as she leaned back on the chair on which she was sitting. She looked at Qi Liwei and remarked, "It seems like he is accompanying soone high-profile and going against you."
As soon as she finished speaking, Qi Yongrui's eyes turned cold. He turned to look at the woman who was bidding against him, and even though he couldn't see him, he couldn't help but feel annoyed at the thought that Qi Liwei, whom he had treated so well, was doing such a thing.
Anyone could bla him for not taking care of himself, but not Qi Liwei, and yet he was doing such a thing. Qi Yongrui felt that all his good intentions had been fed to dogs.
He narrowed his eyes and said to Luo Huian, "You can see him?"
"My senses are better than yours," replied Luo Huian carelessly. Her eyes flashed with a hint of anger as she looked at the r who was whispering in the ears of the old woman. She couldn't understand why she was angry, but she just couldn't withstand the actions of this r.
He caused Qi Yongrui's legs to lose all feeling, and yet this r was not giving up.
The cogs in her head turned, and Luo Huian said to Qi Yongrui, "Drop the bidding board, but as long as they make a bid, make sure to increase the bid."
Qi Yongrui nodded as he turned to look at the front. He placed the bidding board on the table and sat up straight in the chair.
When Mrs Pei saw that the r had dropped the bidding board, she scoffed. It seed like the woman he was accompanying was not that powerful, because if she were powerful, then she would not have stopped him from bidding.
She turned to look at Qi Liwei and kissed him on the cheek. She said to him, "It seems like the woman who is with your brother is nothing but a weak chicken. Look at this; she cannot even deal with such a small bid. She even stopped him from bidding for such a small thing."
Qi Liwei smiled upon hearing her words, but inwardly, he was confused. He could not understand what happened all of a sudden. As far as he knew, Luo Huian had enough money in her hands to buy more than just ten antiques. So, how co she refused Qi Yongrui to bid for these bracelets?
Maybe she doesn't want to waste her money on him?
As soon as this thought ca into his head, Qi Liwei's eyes softened, and his brows shot upwards smugly. It seed like they were only showing off, and they were still in a Cold War-like situation as before.
With that thought in his mind, Qi Liwei was even more satisfied.
What was the point of having a beautiful woman when he couldn't even touch her?
Qi Yongrui had no idea what was going on in Qi Liwei's head. He was looking at the emcee, who was now introducing a luminous pearl that was taken from the tomb of a princess. However, he didn't rush to bid instead, he turned to look at his wife and sure enough, he heard her say,
"Tsk, tsk," Luo Huian remarked with a click of her tongue. "They really know their stuff. I wonder how they found a paint that could create such a wonderful glow?"
She then tilted her head to one side and remarked, "But then again, it doesn't take much to fool rich people like you."
"You an to say that this is not real either?" Qi Yongrui asked with his heart growing stifled. He wondered how many antiques he had brought ho which were not real. It seed like he had to call an appraiser and see what was going on. If the antiques that he brought were not real, Qi Yongrui truly couldn't think about the consequences for the ti being.
Qi Yongrui pulled his hand back, and Chen Mingyu did the sa.
He looked at the pearl, which was nothing but a simple pearl coated with glowing paint, and was speechless. Sure enough, Luo Huian was right. It didn't take much to fool rich people like them.
"This is interesting." Shi ifeng narrowed her eyes as she stared at the emcee. It seed like she needed to investigate the auction house. If they were doing sothing shady behind their backs. If not, what were they thinking using fake goods and selling them for real money?
There had to be sothing fishy going on behind the scenes.
While Shi ifeng and Luo Huian were lost in their own thoughts, Mrs Pei was filled with a triumphant feeling in her heart. She noticed Qi Yongrui pulling his hand back from the bidding board after looking at his partner. It seed like the partner with whom Qi Yongrui ca was a real miser; just look at this: she was not letting him buy even a single luminous pearl.
How pathetic.
As a woman who thought that the only way to win the heart of a r was by throwing money, Mrs Pei thought that Qi Yongrui's partner was nothing but a useless woman. The contempt in her heart churned, and she looked at Qi Yongrui with a lick of her lips.
Her eyes grazed Qi Yongrui's figure, and she couldn't help but feel a bit turned on. She had to admit that Qi Yongrui was more handso than Qi Liwei.
Sure enough, those who got their hands on sothing good didn't know how to treasure it.
If she were the one accompanying Qi Yongrui, then she would have treated him with care instead of stopping him from buying what he wanted.
Maybe she would try her hand at Qi Yongrui after the auction?
Qi Yongrui didn't know why, but suddenly he felt a shiver climb up his spine. He raised his head and looked behind him, worried that sothing had gone amiss. However, when he looked around, he saw nothing.
He didn't see what was going on, but Luo Huian did. She glanced at the woman who was sitting next to Qi Liwei and noticed the lecherous expression on the face of the woman while she was looking at her husband.
Now, Luo Huian was not a jealous woman. She never understood the concept of jealousy at all, but at that mont, she wanted nothing more than to skin Mrs Pei alive for looking at Qi Yongrui like that.
She reached out for the bidding board and shouted, "30 million!"
