The Four Emperors surveyed the desolate surroundings, and at a glance, all they could see was a gloomy land and a forest of stone mountains.
At this mont, the Bone Emperor had a bad premonition, spreading his Divine Sense. When he sensed sothing, his pupils shrank sharply.
"It’s over. Who knows where that man has sent us..."
"Within a billion kiloters radius, there’s no sign of any creature’s presence."
Upon hearing this sentence, the other three emperors hurriedly unleashed their Divine Sense, and after careful examination, panic appeared on their faces as well.
According to the normal process, they should have traveled to seven thousand years ago, only needing to traverse a few kiloters in the River of Ti.
But after that man accelerated them, they surged downstream in the Black Coffin for an unknown distance. The powerful chaotic flow of ti caused them to fall unconscious, completely unaware of when and where they were sent.
Even with their Divine Sense fully expanded, they could not sense any creature’s presence...
Could it be they traveled to the ti before Pangu created heaven and earth?!
Huh?
Where’s the Black Coffin?!
It was only then that the Four Emperors realized the Black Coffin was no longer by their side!
"Quick!"
"Let’s split up and search from four directions. After an hour, we’ll gather back here!"
With that, the Four Emperors turned into streams of light, rushing towards the north, south, east, and west.
An hour later, the Four Emperors returned to the original spot, empty-handed.
"Couldn’t find it..."
"Sa here, I searched several billion kiloters out, still couldn’t find it."
The Bone Emperor sat heavily on the ground, murmuring, "It’s all over now. The Black Coffin must have fallen into so other ti and space."
"We don’t even know what ti and space we’ve been sent to."
"Without the Black Coffin and the Wood of Ti, we’re probably not going back..."
Upon hearing this, the other three emperors also felt faint and weak in their legs.
With the Black Coffin lost, and uncertain of their ti and space, let alone completing the Venerable Lord’s task, there’s no way they can go back now.
.....
A gust of wind blew, stirring the dust and sand on the ground. The Four Emperors’ faces were rigid, expressions vacant, utterly losing hope.
This was more unbearable and desperate than being trapped in the Black Central Realm.
Trapped in the Black Central Realm, at least they knew where they were, at least they could hope for the Venerable Lord to rescue them.
Now it’s all wrong, the ti is wrong, the space is wrong too.
Even soone as strong as the Venerable Lord couldn’t deduce what ti and space they are in, let alone find them.
For soone like the typically calm and composed Bone Emperor, this was utterly deflating.
If the Black Coffin wasn’t lost, they could wait until they recuperate and then make another journey across the River of Ti.
But now, lacking the crucial "Wood of Ti" as a crossing dium, they had no way to re-enter the River of Ti.
Things like the Wood of Ti are rare in the world, and finding one relies entirely on luck.
In the past, they were able to traverse the River of Ti by borrowing the Wood of Ti from their seniors.
In this place, there’s not even a single blade of grass in sight, let alone a tree!
If in this world, the Wood of Ti doesn’t exist at all, then they would be trapped here for eternity, until they die of old age.
...
In this manner, the Four Emperors sat here for three whole days and nights, unable to co up with any solution.
"Bone Emperor, I think there’s only one way, this place must be thousands or even tens of thousands of years ago."
"Should we wait for ti to pass and live until we reach the normal tiline?"
Finally, after long silence, the Southern Emperor spoke up.
Upon hearing this, the Bone Emperor gave a bitter smile, "How can you be sure we’re thousands of years ago?"
"Living for thousands of years is manageable, we can retreat into seclusion and persevere for a while."
"But... what if it’s tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of years ago, or even longer?"
"Do you think we could survive for hundreds of thousands of years?"
"Moreover, how can you be sure this world is the one we originally ca from?"
"You must think clearly, we are not only misplaced in ti but also in space!"
Hearing this, the Southern Emperor fell back into despair.
Indeed, if they had only traveled to seven thousand years ago, even if they lost the Black Coffin, it wouldn’t matter much.
They could withstand and endure until they reached the normal tiline seven thousand years ago.
But now, it’s definitely not as simple as seven thousand years, considering the distance they traveled along the River of Ti, it might very well be seven hundred thousand years.
Seven hundred thousand years...
How long a ti that is.
They are rely Celestial Immortals, not even Immortal Kings, let alone Immortal Emperors, and cannot live that long.
Even an Immortal Emperor arriving here, seven hundred thousand years would be enough to drive any one of them insane.
And even this seven hundred thousand years is a conservative estimate.
What if it’s even longer?
They dared not think further, the more they thought, the more hopeless they felt.
"The only option now is to search for the Wood of Ti."
The Bone Emperor stood up, gazing into the distance, his expression complex.
"But, the Wood of Ti is rare as it is, and this world is so desolate..."
The Dark Emperor said in despair.
"It’s the only way," said Emperor Huan.
....
The Bone Emperor sliced open his finger, letting a drop of his blood drip onto the ground.
"We will use this location as a gathering point."
"We’ll each search in a different direction and et back after a hundred years."
"Whether or not anyone finds it, we must return here after a hundred years."
Upon finishing those words, the other three emperors also cut their fingers, leaving their blood here for marking.
Four marks of blood appeared on the ground, ant to prevent losing track of each other due to this world’s imnse size.
"If after many years any of the blood marks disappear, it signifies who has perished."
"If in a hundred years you return to this spot and find my blood mark has vanished, it ans I have fallen."
"Then, do not give up. As long as one of us survives, they must leave here, find the Black Coffin, and complete the Venerable Lord’s mission."
The Bone Emperor advised the other three firmly, word by word.
The four blood marks not only represented the eting point but also signified their survival status.
.....
"Let’s go."
"We don’t have much ti left, not a second to waste."
With that, the Bone Emperor faced north, and in the next mont, tore through space, starting his search for the legendary Wood of Ti from the north.
The other three Emperors headed towards the east, south, and west respectively....
....
Ti flies, a hundred years pass in a blink of an eye.
When the Four Emperors gathered once more, they appeared considerably older.
In just a hundred years, the Bone Emperor’s head was streaked with white hair, a testant to how many things had transpired in that ti.
Seeing all four returned empty-handed, they understood well that the Wood of Ti hadn’t been found.
The Four Emperors said little, rely nodding to each other, then turned to continue their search....
