"Nannan, how about letting your big brother take you out to play for a few days tomorrow?"

"Recently, there’s not much happening at the river, and Daddy can handle everything by himself."

Su Mu gently said to Nannan.

Nannan shook her head, smiling as she replied, "No, Daddy, I’ve gone out to play quite a few tis already."

"Here, Daddy, this is for you."

Saying this, Nannan took out a clean little notebook and handed it to Su Mu.

It contained records of various anomalies that Nannan had observed while patrolling the river over the past month. No matter how big or small, she had ticulously noted everything down.

Nannan was very smart, able to sense her father’s anxiety during this period.

So during this ti, she would sotis leave even earlier than Su Mu, sotis heading out before dawn to patrol, even going to so remote tributaries at tis.

She didn’t know why her father insisted on guarding this river, and she wouldn’t ask. Daddy must have his reasons for doing so.

Su Mu received the notebook, feeling a twinge of heartache as he looked at the increasingly sensible Nannan.

After all, because he was forced to be confined to this river, Nannan’s childhood beca indirectly filled with the monotony of flowing water, pebbles, river sand, fish, and shrimp as her companions.

When she was little, the first ti Nannan went out to play, she often insisted on wanting to go out and play, but as she grew older, in Su Mu’s mory, she never again ntioned wanting to go out and play of her own accord.

This was the first ti Nannan refused his offer to let her go out to play with her big brother, which made Su Mu reflect. After all, children of this age should be innocent, playful, and even a bit mischievous.

"Nannan, are you sure you don’t want to go?"

"I can ask your big brother to co and take you."

Su Mu asked once more.

"No need."

"I’d rather go out with Daddy in the future than with big brother."

"Daddy, you go rest, I’ll clean up the dishes."

After saying that, Nannan began to clean up the dining table.

Su Mu sat to ditate under the Phoebe Tree, and noticed that after Nannan finished tidying up, she didn’t go to bed but instead lit a lamp and started reading.

Nannan loved reading, but usually preferred amusing anecdotes and pictorials. Recently, however, she’s been delving into books about cultivation, like arrays, elixir pills, the spirit beast atlas, refining treasures, and other ancient texts.

It’s important to note that Nannan had never shown interest in cultivation, and Su Mu had never forced her. Now, seeing her take initiative, Su Mu didn’t quite know whether to feel happy or sad.

He noticed that lately, Nannan’s progress in cultivation was remarkably swift.

Currently, Nannan’s cultivation had already broken through to the Human Immortal Perfection realm, and she’s not even six years old yet!?

At that mont, after contemplating for a bit, Su Mu stood up and walked over to Nannan.

Nannan, fully engrossed, didn’t notice her father had approached her side.

"Nannan."

At the sound of his voice, Nannan looked up, tilting her head curiously, "What’s wrong, Daddy?"

The gentle candlelight reflected in Nannan’s jewel-like eyes.

"Nannan, have you ever wondered why we always live by this river?" Su Mu asked slowly.

Upon hearing this, Nannan paused for a mont, then shook her head, saying, "No, but Nannan knows Daddy must have his reasons."

Hearing this statent, Su Mu was taken aback.

If Nannan had asked him, he wouldn’t have known what lie to tell her, because... he couldn’t possibly explain that he had a system and needed to complete a system task to leave.

Nannan’s answer, instead, made Su Mu feel a twinge of guilt.

"Nannan, in Daddy’s true holand, there’s a tradition."

"At ten years old, there’s a grand birthday ceremony, marking the transition from boyhood to youth and from girlhood to maidenhood, symbolizing the most beautiful age."

"Daddy promises you that when you turn ten, I will hold this celebration for you in a spectacular place, with flowers, sea, seagulls, white clouds, and many beautiful things."

Upon hearing these words, a hopeful sparkle appeared in Nannan’s eyes.

"Great, Nannan will definitely love it, love it so much, and is super excited!" Nannan smiled, revealing two adorable little canine teeth.

At this mont, Su Mu realized that Nannan was still that little Nannan; smart and mature, yet still retaining her innocent childlike wonder.

Su Mu decided that no later than five years, he would thoroughly refine the river and venture out into a larger world.

Because it’s impossible to be trapped here forever, having cultivation but nowhere to apply it, this is quite a painful predicant.

Perhaps... he considers himself the unluckiest transmigrator in the world.

Other transmigrators have already been thriving outside, establishing sects, and standing on the grandest historical stage, pursuing the pinnacle of the Immortal Dao.

Whereas he, still struggling to conquer a single river...

Thus, no day can be wasted from now on.

...

Nannan put down her book and earnestly said to Su Mu, "Daddy, can you teach cultivation?"

Hearing this, Su Mu’s body stiffened for a mont.

Then he smiled and said, "Of course."

"But cultivation is a hard thing. If you give up halfway, Daddy won’t continue teaching you."

.....

"Nannan won’t give up!" Nannan raised her small fist, firmly promising.

"Alright then, starting tomorrow, I’ll teach you cultivation in the evenings, and during the day, when I go out to patrol, you can stay ho to cultivate."

Su Mu said gently.

Although Nannan had reached the Human Immortal Perfection realm, she knew almost nothing about cultivation. She probably didn’t even understand how she broke through to this cultivation realm, and even Su Mu was unsure.

She hadn’t practiced any cultivation techniques and was clueless about combat. She was like a blank slate, a perfect piece of white jade yet to be carved, needing Su Mu’s guidance and education to beco the most perfect piece of jade in the world!

Su Mu had planned to wait until Nannan was ten before teaching her cultivation techniques, intending to give her as happy a childhood as possible.

But now, reconsidering, if they were to leave the river soday, Nannan would encounter a larger, more dangerous world outside.

So... before leaving this river, he needed to make Nannan as strong as possible, equipping her with the power to protect herself once they are out.

Actually, Su Mu was very much looking forward to seeing just how far such a talented Nannan could grow under his guidance!

"Daddy."

"Regarding this, I have a better plan."

"I’ve written it all down, take a look."

Saying this, Nannan picked up a notebook filled with writing from the table and handed it to Su Mu.
