Xu Baohan’s hand that was holding the teacup paused. After a moment, he raised his head and said calmly, “We don’t have much to talk about.”

Song Ruixue shook his head helplessly. “No matter what, he’s your father.”

“Let’s not talk about him.” Xu Baohan smiled faintly. “He disowned me. What else is there to talk about?”

Song Ruixue clicked his tongue. “I’m doing this for your good. With your uncle giving him bad advice, your father might find you a stepmother. I’m just afraid that others might take money that should be yours.”

“I don’t care about the money.” Xu Baohan’s tone remained calm, “I prefer to rely on myself. Besides, I’m doing quite well now. I have my own place, a car, a girlfriend, a job and bank savings. What more do I need? I’m satisfied.”

An Lan thought to herself, ‘Maybe my problem is that I’m never satisfied.’

However, from their conversation, she knew that Xu Baohan’s family had some money.

She didn’t care. She’d rather to be rich herself than having a rich boyfriend. After all, her own money was more reliable.

At 7:30 pm, the sounds of a car came from outside.

With clicking sounds of high heels, and a woman walked in. She had short hair and wore jeans, a pink leather jacket, and glasses.

An Lan had purposely dressed like an intellectual lady today, but looking at the woman, she knew what a truly intellectual woman look like, and she still felt a little inferior.

“I thought you went to a social event and would be back very late,” Mrs. Song said with a smile.

Song Yitong glanced at Xu Baohan, her gaze landing on An Lan, her eyes flashing with surprise. “Didn’t you guys say that Judge Xu would e over today? Why, we haven’t seen each other for more than half a year, and the judge has already found a girlfriend?”

“Yes.” Xu Baohan turned to introduce An Lan. “This is Mr. Song’s daughter, Song Yitong.”

“Hello, I’m An Lan.” An LAN stood up and shook hands with song Yitong. She had thought that Song Yitong might be her rival in love since she was Xu Baohan’s classmate, but from Song Yitong’s gaze, she could tell that wasn’t the case.

“You two… met on a blind date?” Song Yitong’s gaze was a little plicated.

An Lan and Xu Baohan fell silent at the same time. Strictly speaking, they had indeed met on a blind date.

“Ms. Song, you’re really amazing.” An Lan smiled faintly.

“Baohan, you’re not young anymore. It’s time for you to get married,” Song Yitong suddenly said emotionally. “Even my daughter will have to go to kindergarten soon.”

“Ms. Song, are you married?” An Lan raised her eyebrows.

Song Ruixue laughed. “She’s older than you. If she wasn’t married, her mother and I would be worried sick.”

“My Husband is studying abroad, so I’m living here for the time being, leaving my daughter with my mother-in-law,” Song Yitong said with a smile. “What do you do, Miss An?”

“I’m a lawyer.”

Song Yitong’s mouth opened in shock. After a while, she said, “What was the person who set up thinking?”

“Not much, I guess.” Xu Baohan smiled. “But it ended up well for us.”

Song Yitong’s gaze lingered on his face for a while before she nodded. “Did you bump into your old classmates during the university’s 70th anniversary celebration?”

“I bumped into Xing Yuan.”

The two of them chatted for more than 20 minutes. They talked about the career developments of their old classmates and their work. An Lan felt that they were two old friends who hadn’t seen each other for a long time catching up, but she didn’t feel bored. After all, it was an rare opportunity to sit and talk with the prestigious Song Ruixue.
