“I don’t want an apple, I want waterlon!” Luosang fixed her eyes on the freshly-cut waterlon. The weather was excessively hot. She already felt drained.
Before Nian Junting responded, she walked over and cut off a large piece of waterlon for herself. However, Nian Junting stopped her as she was going to start eating. “Stop. This parental APP says that a pregnant woman shouldn’t eat waterlon, because it’s too cold.”
Luosang was speechless. “Don’t make a big deal about it. I’ve read it too. It’ll be okay, as long as I don’t eat too much.”
“I’m still worried,” Nian Junting took the waterlon from her and ate it himself.
Luosang wanted to bite him to death.
That was why she didn’t want to live with him. Ever since she had gotten pregnant, he had forbidden her from eating many things.
An Lan, who had been sitting off to the side watching them, laughed. “Mr. Nian, you don’t actually need to be so careful. When my sister was pregnant, she ate anything. You only need to avoid those foods which might lead to abortion.”
Nian Junting finished the waterlon, wiped his mouth elegantly, then said, “Can your sister’s child be compared to mine? My child is going to be a princess, a precious little girl.”
An Lan couldn’t keep the smile on her face.
Thankfully, she had gotten used to his sharp-tongue long ago.
Luosang gave Nian Junting a glare, said, “In parents’ eyes, their own child is always a precious gift.” Then, she turned to An Lan and continued, “Miss An, ignore him. How’s my father’s case going?”
“Yi Jingxi used work as an excuse, and refused to appear in court at first. But the courthouse has served him with a summons.”
Speaking of that, An Lan smiled. “According to so internal sources, Yi Jingxi’s forr legal adviser, Cao Guanglun won’t be responsible for the case this ti.”
Luosang knew pretty well about so lawyers, as she had been trying to help her father with the case in the recent few years. “Cao Guanglun is a top-ranked lawyer. I heard that he’s been practicing for thirty years, and rarely loses cases. If he’s not going to take part, we’ll have one less opponent.”
“Man struggles upwards. Yi Group is going downhill. A snobbish man like Cao Guanglun won’t waste ti on Yi Jingxi,” Nian Junting smiled faintly, and said, “Besides, I sent my ssage to him long ago. I told him that if he helped Yi Jingxi, he’d beco my enemy.”
Luosang understood. It turned out that Nian Junting had pulled strings behind the scenes. “Junting, you’re amazing.”
“Everybody knows that.”
Being complinted by Luosang in front of soone else, Nian Junting’s vanity was satisfied. He smiled broadly, and looked at her proudly.
Seeing that, An Lan felt really speechless. Mr. Nian looked so proud. “Anyway, I think Jin Chengpeng is going to be Yi Jingxi’s lawyer this ti. I’ve t him a few tis. He is capable, but not as good as Can Guanglun. I’m absolutely sure that I can win against him. Not to ntion the fact that Kashiwa has already agreed to testify. If Zeng Zhun can stand up for you too, and add to the evidence that we’ve collected, we will be sure of winning.”
“Zeng Zhun hasn’t called yet,” Luosang said, a little disappointed.
Nian Junting pinched her pink cheeks and said, “Be patient and wait. We only need him to show up in court. This case might need more than one court session.”
“Em,” Luosang replied with a low voice.
“Mr. Nian, I gotta go. I’m going back to my law firm to study this case with my colleagues.” Seeing the intimate act between Nian Junting and Luosang, An Lan stood up awkwardly, and decided to give them so space.
