After recording a segnt, Luosang hit pause. She took a break and drank so water. It was already 3:20pm. She was surprised. She quickly walked over to the assistant director and asked, “Where is Shi Xiang? Is he here yet?”
“Not yet.” The assistant was playing with his phone and answered her without looking up. “Just do your job. Don’t count on the superstars to arrive on ti. It’ll be good enough if they actually finish their part.”
“I’m going to the bathroom.” Luosang walked towards the lounge. Yan Su was still sitting there looking around anxiously. She had already drunk several cups of tea.
Yan Su looked at her. “You’re finished?”
“How could I be?” Luosang felt bad for her. “Shi Xiang said he would co over at three, but...”
“It’s normal.” Yan Su laughed. “I was doing a program with a superstar previously, and he only arrived after being two hours late. The whole crew was waiting for him. Not all of them do it on purpose, though. So of them really get caught up in matters. They do have a lot of events to attend.”
“As long as you’re fine with it.” Luosang sighed.
“I am. I’ve waited all these years, a few more hours don’t matter to .” Yan Su sounded disappointed and down.
Luosang was at a loss for what to say. She could wait for soone for years, but the worst part would be waiting for soone who wouldn’t walk with you for the rest of your life.
...
After Luosang returned to the studio, Yan Su waited until four o’clock before a group of people erged from the elevator. Shi Xiang was walking at the front. He was wearing a gray t-shirt and a white jacket with jeans. He looked clean and refreshed.
They hadn’t seen each other in so long. She couldn’t even rember how long exactly at that mont. She rembered that his hair was different the last ti she saw him. In the past year, he had changed his hairstyle many tis. He looked even more fashionable and edgy now. The dia had described him as a star who could just rely on his good looks, but who had proven himself talented and hardworking as well.
Yan Su walked out quickly. She didn’t dare to walk too close to him. She knew that she wasn’t part of the company. If she walked too close to him, she would be whisked away by his bodyguards, maybe even thrown out of the building. She didn’t want to get Luosang into trouble, too.
She stood a few feet away from him as she watched him quietly. Her eyes were getting wet, but she didn’t want to make a scene. Shi Xiang caught sight of her as he looked around the room. He looked away casually and paused to bend down to roll up his pants. He paused for half a minute before walking into the studio with a pursed lip.
Yan Su was stunned as she watched the door close shut. Instead of relieving her longing for him every ti she saw him, she felt like she was drifting further from him. When could she ever walk up to him and hold his hand in public?
The journey was getting longer and longer for her.
...
At around ten o’clock at night, Luosang finished up her work and prepared to leave. Suddenly, the assistant director stopped her. “Luosang, could you give Shi Xiang a hand if you’re done? He hasn’t got a good feel for voice acting yet.”
Luosang looked over and nodded. She texted Yan Su and walked towards Shi Xiang’s studio. There wasn’t anyone else in the room, and it was very quiet. Air conditioning wasn’t allowed, and beads of sweat were dripping from Shi Xiang’s forehead.
“You don’t have to do it yourself,” Luosang said. “It’s no easy feat.”
“Yeah, I thought it would be as easy as singing a song. I was too naïve.” Shi Xiang grimaced. “But Su can only see if I insist on voice acting myself.”
