Mo Liuxi widened his eyes in disbelief and picked up the CD. It was exactly the one that he was referring to. “How did you find this?”
Nian Junting crossed his legs and chuckled. “I found it when I asked soone to clean the apartnt. You really hid it well, didn’t you? You’re quite creative with your gifts. Too bad you didn’t manage to give it away last year. Are you going to give it to her this Christmas?”
“You watched it?” Mo Liuxi cheeks were burning with embarrassnt now. “Who said you could do that?”
“Haha!” Nian Junting crossed his arms. “I thought it was a homade music video that your sister and Yan Su made together. I heard that the more innocent a girl looks on the surface, the kinkier they are in private — like your sister. I didn’t expect it to be...”
Nian Junting shuddered a little and continued. “I never took you for such a mushy sweet guy. You always put up such an icy cold front after all. I may have misjudged you.”
“Don’t act as if you don’t get all lovey-dovey with my sister in private!” Mo Liuxi glared at him. “It doesn’t matter how an or cold I usually am. It’s only right to save my sweet and romantic side for my girlfriend in private.”
“It seems like your sister doesn’t have to worry about you finding a girlfriend after all. You do know the important parts.” Nian Junting smiled knowingly. “Take it easy though — don’t end up being a dad before you even graduate from college.”
Mo Liuxi was grinning when he heard him say that.
“Why are you smiling?” Nian Junting was unsettled when he saw Mo Liuxi grinning away. “Don’t tell ... you’ve already done it? You can’t be that fast.”
“Save it. Since I’ll be telling the family sooner or later, I’ll give you a head’s up.” Mo Liuxi sounded pleased with himself. “I have a daughter.”
An awkward silence filled the air.
Nian Junting’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. He stared at Mo Liuxi as if he were a mad man. “Are you delusional or sothing?”
Mo Liuxi sat down on the leather chair opposite him. “It’s true. When we broke up last year, Yan Su was already pregnant with my child. She is about five months old now.”
The office was dead silent for a while as Nian Junting blinked his eyes and recollected his thoughts. Finally, he said, “Are you sure about this? Although she is Luosang’s friend, you can never tell. Are you sure the kid is yours?”
“Of course. The child looks just like — it’s the only proof I need!” Mo Liuxi unlocked his phone and showed him a few photos of Yan Yan.
Nian Junting looked at the photos closely. The baby in the photos was wearing a pink knitted hat. Although it was difficult to tell if it was a baby boy or baby girl, he had to admit that the baby resembled Mo Liuxi. The baby even resembled Little Apple!
It was hard to deny things like genetic inheritance.
He had mixed feelings about the whole issue. He felt as if he had just swallowed a bottle of peppers.
Mo Liuxi was only twenty-two years old that year.
What was he doing when he was twenty-two? He was at the lowest point in his career and life. He was a little virgin boy who had just broken up with his girlfriend. Compare that with Mo Liuxi — he was at his peak at the young age of twenty-two. Mo Liuxi was even a dad now when he had just joined the dad club the year before. He had a son while Mo Liuxi had a baby princess that he wanted so badly.
The world was so unfair. How could he lose out to a little kid like Mo Liuxi? He was so perfect and handso as well.
“You don’t have to look so envious of ,” Mo Liuxi said cheerily.
“Who says I’m jealous?” Nian Junting scowled. “It’s just a baby girl. She’s won’t nearly be as interesting as my Little Apple! I can squeeze and pinch him however I like. Oh right, does your daughter know that she has a father? What else have you done for her other than donating your sperm?”
