For soone with limited chakra reserves, this wasn't a significant drawback. But for Seii, with his vast chakra reserves, the trade-off felt inefficient.
Thus, he sought to develop a more flexible and less resource-intensive alternative.
However, if Shadow Blade Technique remained this rigid, he might as well stick to the high-cost Dance of the Crescent Moon.
