41 Chapter 41 – Knight’s Last Journey
Right at 6 PM, Max started his stream.
[Livestream Start!]
"We et again, guys! How are you doing?!"
As soon as he appeared in the Knight's Journey waiting room, which he set as his default spawn point after streaming with Flexy, he greeted his viewers as usual. He had already recovered from exhaustion and was in top condition.
— Hello Breeze!
— Damn, I missed your IRL streaming because of work! And now I can't watch the Vod! Please upload it!
— I missed it too!
— Evening, Breeze!
— From the title, it seems you're doing sothing impossible again.
"Evening! And, yeah. I am attempting to get no damage or get hit until I finish this route." Max replied to the chat with a confident smile.
"I guess this will be easy as the war mission is finished. I don't know what kind of enemies lay ahead, but I bet none are stronger than Trouser."
Because he had gotten an impossible quest, he didn't want to waste it and asked Flexy what he should expect in the future ga mission. He didn't ask for anything specific, but only what he should expect to fight after the war.
The answer he got from his new friend was enough to make him a bit cautious, but it was still doable, as no enemies would be as strong as Trouser. At least not until the final boss.
"Now, let's enter the main story!"
Having said that, Max entered the main story, and the cutscene appeared with white letters floating in the air.
[A few years had passed since the battle. Sir Breeze had advanced through rank, moved to the Capital City of Rami Kingdom, and achieved Knight Captain rank.]
[Forr Commander Hurian Ahran has retired to the countryside and enjoyed a slow life due to injury in his back from the battle to protect Rami Kingdom from Barbarians.]
[Knight Captain Hutch has been appointed as the new commander together with Aestes Raymond.]
[After five years of service, at age 28, Knight Captain Breeze has decided to retire. He left the Capital City and traveled alone to the countryside, where his trusted comrade, Forr Commander Hurian Ahran, lived.]

Reading the text that appeared one by one, Max and the viewers were speechless. They were surprised by the cutscene and the story developnt that was different from the original route
But what was most surprising for them wasn't the story, but other things.
— Huh Ah knight has a na?!
— Hurian Ahran… Hu Ah… Huh Ah!
— Brilliant!
— The developer is so lazy lol
After the texts disappeared, countless images flashed, each representing the tis that Max's character went through inside the ga. Each image lasted for a second, just enough for him and the viewers to see them.
It went on for a while, as a few years passed. The snippets continued before it showed a colorful image of a plain with a dirt road stretched across it. Max's character stood while holding a leather bag on his shoulder, dressed in adventure clothes with an axe on his hip.
At that mont, the cutscene ended, and Max could control his character.
"Where am I?"
His curious question was answered by a ga mission.
[A new mission is generated.]
[Knight's Last Journey]
[Reach Forr Commander Hurian Ahran's residence in the Frontier City in the west! Your journey will be arduous, but a good life is waiting for you!]

"Knight's Last Journey?" Max raised another question as he read the ga's mission.
— It's the last quest!
— Darn… No extermination and just go straight to the last quest?
— This new route is really efficient. Does this an if you play better, the faster you reach the end of your journey? This is perfect for speedrun!
— Truly Knight's Journey!
The viewers weren't wrong.
That was how the developer created this ga.
Knight's Journey was a realistic ga. There was no superpower or superhuman strength. It was a pure action-war ga using a human's capability. Using VR, that capability could be pushed slightly farther than in real life, but that was it.
And so, to add a sense of realism, the developers' team leader made a decision. To make the journey similar to real life.
Those with talents and skills would arrive faster at their destination. They would advance faster, but with more difficult ordeal.
In fact, the viewers already expected this, as the ones who found new routes were usually skilled players like StoneSword and Flexy. Both of them had skipped so quests, too, but not the tutorial ones.
And now, Max skipped many quests at once, the tutorials, and even the subjugation mission after the war that would lead to his character's retirent.

"I really am a genius at gaming, no?" He smirked at the cara.

"I might try that next." Max replied to the chat with a shrug of shoulders.
"But what would you do if I dominated the online ga? I need to give the others chances and play sothing different first. Well, I haven't decided what I will play next after Knight's Journey. It's a fun ga."
Max's priority wouldn't stray away from streaming. However, having fun was also important. If he played gas solely to get views, he thought that his content would beco boring and unattractive.
Even he would only watch livestreams if the strears enjoyed themselves.
"Now then, where is this countryside located?"
— There should be a map.
— Say Map! Say Map!
— Yes, say Map!
"… I won't be fooled by that trick, you know?" Max spoke with narrowed eyes, as if the chat's suggestion wasn't worthy of his consideration at all. "I know that the target will be marked with a glowing light."
Having said that, he looked around the area. Behind him was a forest, and in the distance stood the first city he visited in this ga. On the right was an animal trail leading inside the forest. And there, he could see a glowing light that indicated the mission's objective.
"There it is."
— Tsk!
— He's not fooled.
— This Breeze is smart. I will make it my goal to fool him.
"Hahaha! Try it."
Max walked toward the animal trail while holding the leather bag on his shoulder. He proceeded carefully as he had a system quest not to get a scratch until he finished the ga.
Once he realized that this was the last quest, he decided to try to finish the ga today so he could rest tomorrow and prepare for the announcent.
'That way, I can rest tomorrow and try those pillars in the park. If they asked, I would just say I am taking care of the program and can't really stream. Besides…'
As Max traveled through the animal path, his eyes darted at his viewers' count.
