On his journey back, Jiang Chen launched relentless attacks, rcilessly eliminating any demonic beasts that crossed his path.

With his current strength, his attacks covered an impressive range, leaving no demonic beast alive in the sea territories he passed through.

At the sa ti, deep beneath the ocean floor, a network of tunnels spread out in every direction. These passages, built by the demon race army using locally bred demonic beasts, spanned a vast area centered around the Bottomless Abyss.

The Lustrous Yang Domain was just one part of this extensive underground network.

The Nether Soul Demon Clan hadn’t only infiltrated the Lustrous Yang Domain; they had also launched simultaneous incursions into three other vast domains.

These attacks were led by the three Dao Palace realm nether soul demons who had previously withdrawn from the battle at Verdant Leaf Giant Peak.

Unlike the Lustrous Yang Domain, these three domains had no powerful figures like Jiang Chen, and no one capable of rallying a strong defense.

As a result, the large armies commanded by the three Dao Palace realm demons caught these regions off guard, leading to heavy casualties.

anwhile, in the Lustrous Yang Domain, even after Mo Wutian’s death, the Nether Soul Demon Clan mbers hidden in the depths of the seabed caverns continued to direct the demonic beast forces, pushing them to assault the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect.

...

It wasn’t long before Jiang Chen reached Blackwood Island.

His speed far exceeded Gu Ran’s, allowing him to arrive first.

By this ti, Blackwood Island was already overwheld by an unending assault of demonic beasts, plunging it into complete chaos.

However, the beasts attacking Blackwood Island were only a small part of the overall force.

The majority of demonic beasts erging from the fissures in the sea floor had bypassed Blackwood Island, moving instead toward areas closer to Ageless Spirit Heavenly Island.

After all, Blackwood Island was just a small island; it didn’t require a massive force to destroy it.

On Blackwood Island, the powerful Feng Clan had gathered cultivators from the island and nearby regions to fend off the relentless demonic beast assault.

Among them, the Feng Clan’s elderly patriarch, Feng Hongbo, was the only Inquiring Journey realm expert in the area. Another Inquiring Journey expert, You Dan—an old friend of Feng Hongbo’s—had arrived from another region a few days earlier.

Now, an intense and continuous battle raged in the seas around the island.

"Roar!!"

"Roar!!"

Two Inquiring Journey realm demonic beasts roared as they launched a synchronized attack on the island!

Feng Hongbo and his comrade, You Dan, joined forces to counter their powerful assault.

The remaining cultivators on Blackwood Island faced off against the swarms of Heavenly Origin realm and lower-tier demonic beasts.

The sheer number of beasts filled the sky, casting a massive shadow that blocked much of the sunlight.

In this intense confrontation, waves of cultivators and demonic beasts fell without pause.

The sea was littered with bodies, its waters turned entirely crimson from the bloodshed.

Waves surged, carrying only shattered bones and decaying flesh.

Jiang Chen concealed his presence, observing the battle from a distance in the sky, his gaze assessing Feng Hongbo and You Dan.

Feng Hongbo could be scrutinized with the Villain Eye, but the other man remained unreadable, marking him as rely a passerby.

A passerby, huh…

Jiang Chen mused to himself.

With his cultivation only at the Early-stage Inquiring Journey realm, he’s likely to et his end here.

If he dies before encountering Gu Ran, there won’t be any karmic backlash. In that case, he really is just a passerby.

With that thought, Jiang Chen cast a quick glance toward Gu Ran.

Gu Ran was still racing toward the island.

Suddenly, a shiver ran through his body, though it quickly subsided.

Sothing’s wrong!

Gu Ran thought, alard.

This sensation... it’s that mysterious powerhouse who observed before!

Even as he sensed the presence, he found himself less frightened than he’d been the last ti.

First, Gu Ran realized that the mysterious powerhouse didn’t seem particularly interested in him—both tis he’d felt the presence, it was as if the figure was simply passing by.

Second, the recent battle between Jiang Chen and Mo Wutian had been truly terrifying, shattering large sections of the seabed and triggering massive tidal waves.

Gu Ran had, of course, sensed the imnse disturbance.

Using the power of his bloodline, he was certain that a clash between two Dao Palace realm powerhouses had taken place.

One was a prominent figure from the Lustrous Yang Domain, while the other was the fearso entity directing the demonic beast tide.

It seed the battle had ended with a decisive victor.

And it was likely that the powerhouse who had observed him earlier was the victor, given that the demonic beast tide had halted and no new reinforcents were appearing.

This powerhouse doesn’t seem to be one of the three from the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect,

Gu Ran reasoned confidently.

Also, the cold snort I heard earlier ca from a woman, and there aren’t any female Dao Palace realm powerhouses in the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect.

She might be one of the other great powerhouses from the Lustrous Yang Domain at the Dao Palace realm.

But this powerhouse indirectly helped before, and now she’s destroying demons and halting the demonic beast tide. She doesn’t seem like a villain.

Then why do I still feel this sense of wariness, resistance, even repulsion?

Does she see as an adversary? But she’s so powerful—if she wanted dead, a single glance would be enough. If she truly saw as an enemy, she would have dealt with effortlessly by now.

Various thoughts spun through his mind.

Clearly, Jiang Chen’s cunning tactics had successfully misled Gu Ran.

Just like those who ca before him, Gu Ran had begun to question his own intuition!

Ti moved on...

Gu Ran continued racing toward Blackwood Island.

On the island, the battle between cultivators and demonic beasts raged with unyielding ferocity.

The roars of the demonic beasts echoed to the heavens, while the cultivators’ attacks filled the air.

Blood painted both the sky and the sea a vivid red.

The imnse bodies of fallen demonic beasts piled up, expanding Blackwood Island’s size several tis over.

In the sky, two Inquiring Journey realm demonic beasts launched relentless attacks, undeterred by the threat of death.

Feng Hongbo and his old friend, You Dan, were drenched in sweat, their faces marked by fear, and they appeared on the verge of collapse.

"This isn’t looking good. If we keep going like this, we’re finished!" Terror swept over Feng Hongbo’s face as the demonic beast before him forced him to step back, his voice trembling.

You Dan was in an even worse state. His body was riddled with wounds, blood dripping from countless injuries. He was at his limit.

"Brother Feng!" he gasped. "I can’t hold on any longer, and there’s no chance of escape."

"Let help you—let’s take down the strongest demonic beast together!"

"And... rember to avenge !" Despair clouded You Dan’s eyes, and a bitter smile slowly spread across his face.

Hearing You Dan’s words, Feng Hongbo instantly understood his intentions and let out a desperate cry, "No! We still have a chance to escape!"

But it was already too late.

Suddenly, a surge of golden light erupted from You Dan’s body!

He was sacrificing his life to unleash a forbidden secret art, invoking the Sharpness attribute of the tal Dao!

Though his mastery of it was rudintary, rely at the Inquiring Journey realm, its power was nonetheless overwhelming within this level.

In the next mont, You Dan transford into a golden streak of light, piercing straight through the head of the demonic beast fighting Feng Hongbo.

The beast didn’t even have ti to scream; it was killed instantly, its massive body crashing into the ocean below.

"You Dan!" Feng Hongbo howled in anguish, recklessly charging toward the other Inquiring Journey realm demonic beast.
