The old man in Room 301 stared at the light bulb, then lowered his head and said, "Young man, I have to trouble you again. Actually, many of the light bulbs in my house are broken. Could you replace them all for ?"

Jiang Ran, who was pushing the table back into place, was montarily stunned.

Then he nodded: "Sure, no problem."

Within about ten minutes, Jiang Ran had replaced all the broken light bulbs in the old man's house with new ones and checked everything once more.

"Sir, all done."

Jiang Ran returned to the living room.

The old man in Room 301 gave Jiang Ran a thumbs-up: "You're really a good kid! Old man really likes young people like you!"

"If there were more people like you in society, our world would definitely beco a better place!"

"By the way, I have a granddaughter about your age. She'll be visiting

in a few days. How about I introduce her to you?"

Jiang Ran was first a bit embarrassed, scratching the back of his head after being praised by the old man.

Then, hearing about an introduction to a girlfriend, his interest suddenly piqued.

After all, the Alice Apartnt was a high-end complex, and the old man in Room 301 could afford to buy there, which ant he was definitely wealthy.

Therefore, if he could really get together with his granddaughter, he could enjoy a comfortable life.

"Sir, you look quite handso yourself. Your granddaughter must be very pretty, right?"

"Of course! Wait a mont, I'll find a photo of my granddaughter for you."

Jiang Ran leaned over as the old man found a photo of his granddaughter and showed it to him.

He proudly said, "My granddaughter is beautiful, right?"

Jiang Ran put on a surprised expression on the surface, but in fact, the first glance at the photo shocked him.

It was like a thunderbolt striking his head!

His heart scread, "What the hell? She looks even more masculine than ?!"

If they stood side by side, he wouldn't even know who was the man and who was the woman.

Imdiately, he dismissed the idea of mooching off them.

But he still said, "Beautiful, definitely beautiful."

The old man proudly put away his phone: "That's right, my granddaughter has always been single because she’s too beautiful. No guy dares to get close to her."

Jiang Ran thought, "No wonder no guy dares to approach! I wouldn't dare either!"

At this mont, Jiang Ran felt that all the work was done and it was ti to leave, so he tried to go.

But the old man grabbed him abruptly: "Grandson-in-law, can I ask you one more favor?"

Jiang Ran's mouth twitched: "Sir, go ahead."

The old man said, "Look at how ssy my house is. Can you help

tidy it up?"

Jiang Ran glanced around briefly and indeed found it a bit ssy. His eyes fell on the old man's weathered face, bent over to an exaggerated degree.

He said, "Alright."

Sticking to his usual good-natured style, Jiang Ran started cleaning the old man's house thoroughly.

This big cleaning lasted about half an hour, using two garbage bags.

After finishing, Jiang Ran sat down on a redwood chair to rest, leaning his head against the chair's back, his face turned toward the ceiling.

Just as he was about to rest for a bit, the old man said again, "Grandson-in-law, you only cleaned the living room. You haven’t cleaned my bedroom, balcony, or bathroom yet!"

When Jiang Ran heard this, he imdiately waved his hand: "Sir, let

rest for a mont first."

"Alright," the old man agreed.

At this mont, the old man stared at Jiang Ran sitting with his head down resting. His pale lips twitched slightly.

He thought to himself, "He’s about done for, right? Kid, when you can’t take it anymore and leave because you’re fed up, I’ll take your life. Hmm, let

think about how I’ll collect your life this ti."

Not long after,

Just as the old man was pondering how to take Jiang Ran’s life, Jiang Ran stood up from the chair, took a broom and a rag, and started cleaning the balcony, bedroom, and bathroom.

He cleaned the balcony and bedroom quickly — sweeping so garbage off the floor, wiping the table, and tidying up the clothes.

When it ca to the bathroom, he discovered it was filthy and ssy.

It made his scalp tingle.

Especially the toilet paper on the floor stained with yellow substances, scattered in heaps on the white bathroom floor. The trash bin was already full, with a towering yellowish-white peak protruding.

The originally white bathroom tiles were now all blackened, with black gri conquering every corner.

A stench, almost visible, wafted over.

It was obvious the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for a long ti.

The old man saw Jiang Ran standing hesitating behind the bathroom door, reluctant to enter.

He felt proud: "Heh heh heh, young man, this is my great achievent after three months of neglect, just waiting for today. What’s wrong? Can’t do it? Don’t want to clean? Go ahead and refuse ! Storm off in a fit of anger!!!!"

Jiang Ran stared at the bathroom, feeling it was disgusting, but inwardly he was filled with a different kind of emotion:

"Sigh, it’s really pitiful to grow old. Wanting to clean the house but powerless. Such a dirty place—this old man must have wanted to clean it for a long ti, but his back is bent like that. He simply can’t."

"Will I be like this when I grow old? That’s just too pitiful..."

"They always say marriage and children help care for the elderly, but I don’t see that in this old man..."

Shaking his head, Jiang Ran developed a deeper feeling about marriage and having children.

Then, carrying that feeling with him, he stepped into this bathroom BOSS room.

He began to fight the BOSS.

The old man, seeing Jiang Ran silently enter, instantly widened his eyes as if witnessing sothing that shattered his worldview.

Then he saw Jiang Ran cleaning vigorously inside.

His slightly open mouth snapped shut completely.

He sat back down on the sofa, speechless.

The BOSS room lived up to its na.

After two hours of cleaning, the entire bathroom was finally spotless, renewed from top to bottom.

Jiang Ran couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride.

"Sir, sir, I’ve cleaned your bathroom. You can go check it out. It’s really clean!!!"

Jiang Ran happily reported to the old man.

He didn’t notice that the old man’s face had darkened to the extre.

The old man stared at the freshly cleaned bathroom and thought, "Today I’ve finally t an opponent?"

Jiang Ran finished cleaning the bathroom and started packing the garbage bags from today’s cleaning—there were more than a dozen.

"Sir, is there anything else? If not, I’ll leave and take these garbage bags with ."

Hearing this, the old man imdiately turned and smiled brightly:

"Young man, what ti is it now?"

Jiang Ran took out his phone: "Almost 11 o’clock."

Old man: "Alright then, there are so vegetables and at in the fridge. How about making

lunch? I’m really hungry!"

Jiang Ran hesitated only for a few seconds before agreeing.

He tied on an apron and started making lunch in the open kitchen of Room 301.

At this mont, the old man’s face darkened even more.

He scrutinized Jiang Ran’s back carefully, thinking: What kind of thing is this?

Are you an idiot?!

Why are you so eager to help others?

Don’t you have your own things to do?

If I tell you to do sothing, you just do it?

If I told you to eat shit, would you do it?!
