Chapter 427: Chapter 346: Falling into the Mortal World

He Ya seed to thoroughly enjoy the process of teasing Baptism, the child. Facing Mr. Eyeball’s aggressive tone, she always managed to skillfully deflect the interrogation and even leave Baptism at a loss for words for quite a while.

In fact, as a keyboard warrior, Baptism’s reason for arguing face to face was far from ideal.

However, Mingyuan knew that He Ya’s description of the demon wasn’t ant for Baptism to hear, but rather a mockery of what he had encountered over the past few days.

The Void Demon had plunged the glorious Universe Company into infighting and division just by modifying and controlling cognition.

While Baptism was looking down, presumably thinking about how to rebut He Ya, she also took the opportunity to say to Mingyuan, "Although their thods are as different from yours as the abyss is deep, their effects and goals end up converging, don’t they?"

"It seems you are ready to share your archaeological insights."

"Not just yet, but soon."

He Ya’s gaze towards the Sun turned to the mbers of the choir on stage, each with a solemn expression, radiating an aura of sacred inviolability.

"I’ve heard their chorus on other planets, but not everyone can understand the hymns, not even those who claim to be devout believers. However, many of the answers you seek are hidden within the hymns... Fortunately, you happen to be one of the few ’aberrations’ who can understand the hymns."

Mingyuan neither affird nor denied.

The first ti he heard the sacred song in the Imperial Court, his consciousness drifted far away.

He found himself amongst the stars, facing the Sun.

Then, in that ethereal space, he learned the story of the first Archbishop of the Ashen Empire.

As for why he could understand the mystery of the church’s hymns, Mingyuan attributed it to his ability to interpret Energy, and when he touched the essence of the Scorching Sun Power, he naturally heard the voices flowing between energies.

But as ti and circumstances changed, he ca to a different understanding.

The reason he could so easily touch the essence of the Scorching Sun Power was perhaps due to his relationship with the Void Demon.

All the experints until then had proven his close connection with those creatures that existed in the void.

The plump worm, comfortably curled up in the glass vessel at that mont, was the best proof of this; it had completely adapted to its new ho and was satisfied with its current living conditions.

After absorbing enough Life Energy, its hostility disappeared, replaced by an indescribable sense of closeness.

Although it seed unbelievable, Mingyuan felt that he had transford this parasite into his servant through Life Energy.

And this also helped him understand the peculiar state of those who were infected.

Their hostility stemd from their identity; they originally belonged to other "higher-ranking demons," or the "black mud" that resided in the Dark Night Witch’s brain. From the way the witch dodged the explanation, it could be inferred that the "black mud" was so sort of more advanced void creature that could command the parasites.

The ti of praise fell silent.

People stopped talking, and with the arrival of the orchestra conductor, everyone fell silent.

They watched the choir mbers with rapt attention.

Following procedure, the orchestra conductor bowed to the audience and with the sweep of his hands, a deep chorus began to resonate.

This was the ancient language of the Ashen Empire, later replaced by the universal language promoted by the Universe Company.

Despite being a language he had never heard before, Mingyuan almost imdiately grasped its aning.

The choir’s anthem was, in fact, a hymn of praise to the Sun King.

Unwittingly, in the stream of Scorching Sun Power, he glimpsed remnants of the past.

A planet enshrouded in darkness, echoing the primordial world ntioned in Genesis, a ti without the concepts of day and night, when humans were no different from the nurous species struggling to survive in the dark, desperately trying to exist in this world of darkness.

As ti went by, "offspring of demons" gradually beca an entrenched concept in people’s hearts.

All dangers were collectively referred to as offspring of demons.

The demon referred to the entity that created this boundless darkness.

This was a concept put forth by the Sun King, who had faced the deepest darkness of this world and warned his followers that, in a Land of Eternal Night, there existed terror far beyond their imaginations.

Even the most valiant of the Sun King’s chosen could not compete with a demon, and he commanded his followers not to fantasize about fighting against demons. Instead, they were to keep spreading the light, which was the seal left by the Sun King, an eternal seal that imprisoned the demons in the Land of Eternal Night.

"So, are you sowhat disappointed?"

Among the residual images and fantasies carried by the energy flow, an out-of-place figure erged.

He Ya, who certainly fit the definition of "foreigner," also arrived in this private space.

Ironically, the person directing the orchestra and performing the sacred songs had been left outside.

"This story sounds no different from those of other churches. Perhaps the Sun King was just an especially powerful human, or maybe a consciousness born on so dark planet."

"Are you referring to ’Cocoon’?"

Mingyuan asked.

The Ashen Empire perished because of the planet’s "Cocooning," hence from the mont this concept arose, it signified an on of destruction.

But that was not the case.

At least through interactions with He Ya and the Judge of the Prison Planet, Mingyuan realized that "Cocoons" were not bomb-like entities devoid of consciousness. They could communicate with humans, even possessing more knowledge and wisdom.

Therefore, regarding He Ya’s theory that the Sun King was a friendly "Cocoon," Mingyuan thought there might be so validity to it.

"I know, I know, the main reason you have co here, searching for these ancient stories, is to find out the possibility of a connection with you,"

He Ya said, "Or more precisely, you want to know what exactly the ’black sludge’ is."

This term, created by humans, clearly failed to represent their true aning.

The first discoverers of the "black sludge" nad it so based on its form, but knew nothing else about it.

"The good news is, I’ve also been investigating this matter privately, and these investigations have recently made so substantial progress... This conclusion I’ve co to by observing your behavior,"

He Ya could not gauge Mingyuan’s view on the matter, nor did she know whether he wished for others to be privy to these secrets, hence the choice of this more secluded space, accessible only by a "foreigner."

"Regardless of what the Sun King’s existence might be, it once led a group of humans to defeat the Void Demons and exiled them to a place called the Land of Eternal Night. But I believe that, for that demon, curiosity about the reasons for its defeat may be stronger than resentnt and anger about the loss. Thus, it devised a thod to leave the Land of Eternal Night,"

He Ya paused, "It split its consciousness into countless parts, letting them drift to unknown planets, falling among humans."
