Chapter 125: Chapter 45: Devils Dancing in Chaos

Under the cover of night, the Second Prince hurried through the Book Academy.

The events unfolding around him gave him an unreal feeling.

Although he was clearly on a battlefield, the sight before his eyes was bizarre to the extre. Yin Die’s intelligence had major discrepancies; it hadn’t ntioned the Mohican-headed boxing king, nor the biochemical troops using swill and manure in combat, or the board ga clubs that, once you sat down, you could never leave.

All these bizarre phenona had only one explanation—the Cloud Sea Book Academy contained far more than one barrier.

Even Chu Xingluo, the head of the Chess Institute, didn’t know about these things. These were all changes brought by that new "Demon Defense Class" teacher.

This ti, the ones fighting in an unknown domain were them.

"Second Prince, the troops outside the academy have been attacked by monsters. Leading them is an evil spirit we’ve never seen before; he claims..."

"Go on."

"He claims to be a Righteous Professor."

That didn’t sound like a na an evil spirit should have, "The counterattack troops have been completely annihilated; we can’t retreat."

There were no sounds of earth-shattering killing around him, nor a cruel scene of a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood.

Suddenly, the Second Prince felt sowhat dazed. He saw Yin Die’s elite troops, four people seated around a stone table, with a board ga set out in front of them. One of them threw dice into the air.

This was a war that was supposed to determine the heir to the Pri Monarch, yet his subordinate was playing Monopoly deep in enemy territory.

At another table, they were playing the Werewolf Kill Ga.

The moderator urged the players to close their eyes as night fell, then asked the werewolves to open their eyes and identify a target to kill tonight.

His subordinates sent him pleading looks, but the Second Prince was unable to end the ga.

He had tried before.

Flipping the board and killing the moderator only led to one outco: all the players involved in the ga "died" simultaneously. The result was the sa as for players who failed in the ga; their eyes rolled back, they frothed at the mouth and soon passed out on the ground.

Just like the player pointed out for elimination in the ga.

Before the moderator announced daybreak, they slid off their stone chairs onto the ground, limbs twitching uncontrollably.

The only way to survive was to win the ga, but once a ga ended, the "survivors" were shuffled and assigned to new battles.

As the ga progressed, people fell by the second.

But compared to other battlefields, this was already the mildest form of "death."

The Second Prince had seen his subordinates fighting the biochemical troops covered in manure, screaming as if set on fire, writhing on the ground.

At fifteen, he had unified Yin Die, and in the following two years, he commanded Yin Die in nurous confiscation and assassination operations. Each one was smooth sailing, a clear sweep with no surprises.

Yet, this ti, the operation to bring the Cloud Sea Book Academy under the control of the Imperial Court was fraught with mishaps.

Based on the intelligence they had, they should have marched straight in and taken down the academy within an hour.

The only combatants worth noting in the academy were the three deans. Yin Die had long mastered the information of the grand array of the academy and had devised tactics accordingly.

The Second Prince’s face was somber.

In the end, he had paid the price for his life of unbroken success.

As the commander of the operation, such an outco would hardly satisfy the powers behind his instructors.

But after a brief setback, the Second Prince also glimpsed the clues.

The Mohican, the biochemical troops, and the board ga clubs were the manifestations of a certain barrier; no matter how many tis they were "killed," they would rise again. Only by destroying the root of the barrier could the chaos within the academy be completely eradicated.

All the secrets were hidden in the dormitory building of the academy.

His subordinates had exhausted themselves to bring back the ssage, that the dormitory area was personally guarded by Principal Mo Song, and all the teachers and students of the academy had been gathered there. For that reason, they hadn’t encountered a single student within the academy.

Now, with their retreat cut off, they only had the option to continue forward.

By the ti the Second Prince reached the dormitory area, he was alone.

The subordinate who had previously reported the situation outside the academy had been unluckily struck by a soaring "dung bomb" on the journey, joining the queue of those seeking the bathhouse with resentnt.

There had long been a long queue in front of the academy’s bathhouse.

An old man with white hair blocked his path.

The Second Prince recognized the elder at a glance.

Mo Song, the current principal of the Cloud Sea Academy, and very likely to beco the last principal of the academy as well.

The elder sat in front of a rosewood table, on which were several scrolls of painting.

"Bringing the Dragon to Life," a Mysterious Technique passed down since the founding of the academy. The deans of the Painting Institute had put a lot of effort into the construction of the academy due to this Mysterious Technique, which granted them the ability to bring the things within the paintings into reality. The intricate ink-painted maze on Qing Chi Peak was also the work of the Painting Institute.

If it weren’t for Chu Xingluo’s prior betrayal, the Mystifying Array on the ascent alone would have been enough to drain a great deal of their energy.

The Second Prince did not speak, his face stern as he drew his sword, and in an instant, sharp Sword Intent enveloped Mo Song.

Even without his subordinates by his side, he could still carve a bloody path through the academy with his own strength.

The Sword Control Technique was the foremost among the Mysterious Techniques!

The unsheathed Flying Sword flew straight towards Mo Song, but the elder just calmly looked at him. Before the Flying Sword could pierce his chest, a wave of music swept through.

Different from Su Yunru’s gentle and mournful tunes, this music was as sharp as thunder.

As the music approached, its lody turned into silent Sword Qi, deflecting the Flying Sword elsewhere.

"Have you still not understood your current predicant?"

A voice chided from beside him, and the Second Prince looked toward the sound, the woman who ca into view was unfamiliar yet slightly familiar.

His mories of his elder sister were extrely vague; he only knew that the Elder Princess had left the Imperial Court when he was very young.

At that ti, the affairs of the Imperial Court were unclear, and chaos reigned. To avoid the Elder Princess falling victim to wicked people, his father had his confidants take the young Elder Princess away from the court. Rumors said that the dozen or so guards died out there and never returned.

The young Second Prince had thought these were just stories concocted for conversation, but after unifying Yin Die, he realized that his teacher’s forces had indeed entertained the idea of killing the Elder Princess.

"The situation is over, the wise choice would be to surrender," said the Elder Princess, holding a lute, "After all, the academy is different from you. As long as you surrender, we won’t make things difficult for you."

"The situation is over? That doesn’t sound like sothing a dethroned princess should say."

The Second Prince’s gaze was unyielding.

He had never felt any kinship with his sister. The so-called siblings were rely stepping stones on his path to the throne of the Pri Monarch.

"The one who needs to wake up is you; they’ve already abandoned you."

At the thought from the Second Prince, the Flying Sword that had been knocked down returned to his side. Although his teacher had ordered him taken alive, he could let this oblivious castaway suffer for her unawareness.

"Truly obstinate," Ning Ruyue said coldly. "Principal, I ask that you refrain from intervening. I will be the one to teach this unworthy brother a lesson today!"
