Chapter 966: Attack

Departnt Director Kang was having difficulty thinking. His eyes were fixed in the direction of the patient’s chest, they were not focused.

He never thought that Ling Ran could really do it; he did not even put his hands on the patient, and he was already able to tell where the blood loss was.

With such an ability, did that not an that he could stop all blood losses regardless of where they were?

With such a thought, Departnt Director Kang could not help but smile bitterly. ‘Isn’t that what Ling Ran is doing now?’

Only the Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery had no ti to ask Ling Ran for help. Other departnts had asked Ling Ran for help more than once or twice. As for the Departnt of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery that needed hemostasis the most… it had been directly taken over by the Ergency Departnt…

The muscle around Departnt director Kang’s eyes twitched in annoyance again. The lessons from the Departnt of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery were so brutal that the departnt directors of the small departnts would all shudder for three hours whenever they rembered it.

“The wound is sutured.” He Liang took the opportunity to complete the suturing of the cardiac rupture he saw earlier.

He did not care whether there was a wound at the end of the vertical long axis or whether there was a wound at the back. If the position was too difficult, he could not suture it nicely, anyway. It would be better if he just sutured one at a ti and considered it done.

Departnt Director Kang humd before he sighed in slight regret. “Young He, are you done suturing?”

The departnt currently had very few patients and very few chances to perform surgeries. It was to the point that Departnt Director Kang himself needed to practice suturing cardiac wounds.

It was a pity that the cardiac wound had been taken care of by his assistant during the chaos. Departnt Director Kang felt an indescribable feeling of displeasure in him.

“Departnt director, please check it.” He Liang was still smiling. On the inside, he was incredibly happy.

Often tis, the Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery could not even touch a living heart, and that was also incredibly sad.

Fortunately, he managed to suture one today, and he could go through his day with a smile again. He could persevere for at least a few more weeks.

Departnt Director Kang sulked and checked it again. He rembered the story in “Thirty-six Ways to Sche Against Others”. His gaze was on the monitor, and he counted silently. After a while, his expression changed a little.

“There’s no problem, right?” He Liang was unsure.

“There may be another wound…” the departnt director spoke reluctantly and glanced at Ling Ran from the corner of his eye.

He did not ntion where the location was. One, it was because he did not believe Lin Ran could estimate the location so accurately. Two, he had no idea where it was either.

How would he know where the wound was if he did not cut it open?

Despite that, from his prior experience, Ling Ran may really know its location. Yet, Departnt Director Kang was reluctant to believe it.

Ling Ran’s expression was calm as if he was not surprised by this at all.

On average, Ling Ran perford thirty to fifty freelance surgeries per month. Who knew how many doctors had cooperated with him? He must have t doctors like Departnt Director Kang, the kind who had poor skills but had many ideas.

It was very easy for doctors to embarrass themselves if they had many ideas but poor skills.

Departnt Director Kang’s current feeling of embarrassnt was an example.

“Make the incision wider.” Departnt Director Kang frowned as he gave another order. He tried to avoid eye or verbal contact with Ling Ran.

He now understood why Ling Ran said that he could still widen the incision a little more. In fact, when he went back further in the recollection of his mories, he could rember how Ling Ran sounded when he ntioned midline incision.

If he had done what Ling Ran said before, they would not have been in such trouble right now.

If he had chosen lateral incision, it would have been easier to reveal the wound now.

Departnt Director Kang scowled as he said to himself, ‘Is Lin Ran’s preoperative judgnt that accurate?’

Even so, he refused to ask, and he could not ask. He worked without a sound and took the bone forceps before he hit the patient’s ribs.

*Swish*

The operating theater door was opened again.

Departnt Director Kang turned his head around and was ready to find an excuse to scold the person who ca in. ‘Is this a market? Is it a place for people to co and watch whenever they want?’

Then Departnt Director Kang saw Huo Congjun’s wrinkled old face.

“Oh, Departnt Director Huo. We have a rare visitor.” Departnt Director Kang imdiately smiled to the point that his face was full of wrinkles.

Huo Congjun smiled. “I just happened to be on the surgical floor and thought I’d stop by to take a look. Associate Hospital Director Zhou’s co along too.”

“Oh, Associate Hospital Director Zhou…” Departnt Director Kang repeated his na a few tis. As a departnt director from a small departnt, he usually only had a few opportunities to see the hospital’s senior managent.

Associate Hospital Director Zhou smiled modestly and said, “Departnt Director Kang, you must have had a long day. Is today’s surgery going well?”

It was a common question, but it struck Departnt Director Kang right where it hurt.

Departnt Director Kang could not help but freeze.

Of course, the standard answer was to say it was going smoothly. However, it would be a little embarrassing to say that the surgery was smooth while Ling Ran watched and the patient was still bleeding.

Well, if he said that it was not going well, it would not fit into the normal dialogue shared between leaders, and if he had to say that the surgery was not going smoothly for such a minor cardiac trauma repair surgery, it would not seem unacceptable as well.

Departnt Director Kang could not help but think things through.

Associate Hospital Director Zhou noticed that sothing was off, but he asked, “What’s today’s surgery?”

“Um… It’s a cardiac trauma repair,” Departnt Director Kang answered.

“Is it an ergency surgery? You can go ahead and ignore us.” Associate Hospital Director Zhou asked even though he knew the answer. He went there to keep track of Ling Ran’s situation. He did not care about how the Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery was doing.

Departnt Director Kang answered with a smile. He took another deep breath, returned to his position as the chief surgeon, and looked at his patient’s opened chest. He appeared to be in a slight daze.

‘Now, do I continue with the exploration? Would it be kind of humiliating?’

The Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery had embarrassed itself in Yun Hua Hospital multiple tis, and it was precisely because of this that Departnt Director Kang did not want to continue embarrassing himself.

“Let’s continue.” Departnt Director Kang did not show any emotion on his face. He had saved hundreds of people. Regardless of whether he would end up saving another patient or sending one away, his personality ant that he would still be determined to continue the surgery.

While the patient did not sustain injuries in a good spot, Departnt Director Kang was confident that he could find it. There was just the possibility that he would spend a lot of ti doing so.

*Glug glug*

The big autologous blood transfusion bottle was the only thing that made a sound in the operating theater.

Associate Hospital Director Zhou was standing by the side with a smile on his face. He was waiting for Departnt Director Kang to complete the surgery, then he would praise him. However, he waited and waited…

Departnt Director Kang was still busy with the patient’s chest. The sweat on his forehead gradually accumulated.

“Isn’t this cardiac trauma repair?” Associate Hospital Director Zhou was also quite knowledgeable. So, how could he not know that this was the simplest surgery for the Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery?

Departnt Director Kang’s entire mind was occupied by lawsuits. He explained in a completely unembarrassed manner, “The position of the wound is not very good. The patient was stabbed in the chest by broken glass. Perhaps the broken glass has hit his ribs and stabbed his heart…”

“That’s indeed really complicated.” Associate Hospital Director Zhou laughed as he thought. ‘Has Old Kang’s skills regress?’

However, Huo Congjun was no longer able to hold back. He went along the flow of the conversation and said, “Ling Ran, lend Departnt Director Kang a hand since you’re already here.”

“Lending a hand” was a broad concept, but in conclusion, it just showed irresponsibility.

Departnt Director Kang hesitated for a mont and did not resist anymore. By then, he wanted to end the situation before him more than anyone else. In his present form, he was like the national soccer team playing soccer. Forget about winning the ga, as long as he made it to the next match, he would have already been considered a winner!

Ling Ran waited for a few seconds. When he saw that Departnt Director Kang was silent, he nodded and said, “I can block the bleeding point with my finger first, then expand the opening…”

He spoke as he stretched out his right hand boldly to the side where the vertical long axis of the heart was.

“I’m done.” Ling Ran stood straight as he indicated that the bleeding had stopped.

A few people turned their heads to look at the monitor.

“The bleeding has stopped,” the anesthetist reported. He felt a little faint.

“Noted,” Departnt Director Kang whispered as if sothing was stuck in his throat.
