Chapter 963: Thrown to the Ground
At the fountain, with its tail sticking up, Fragrance Yard walked around its territory in a leisurely manner. It poked and prodded the food thrown to it by those around it.
The children feeding it might not necessarily possess a bachelor in zoology and more than three years of experience in rearing a goose. Hence, most of the things the children threw to feed Fragrance Yard were what they liked to eat rather than what the large white goose favored.
Fragrance Yard found this a problem. It had no choice but to spend energy to single out all of the food that was edible and considered delicious to it. It also walked toward the children who gave it food it did not like to chase them away even though its legs were bound by chains. It hoped that it could ensure the quality of its food supply by doing this. Hopefully, one day in the near future, it would wake up to ground full of food instead of inedible things and rubbish.
*Honk honk…*
Fragrance Yard saw a lump of soil being thrown to the ground before it. Not only was it inedible, but it would also pollute the water in its pond. It could not help but beco so angry that it extended its wings and opened its mouth, showing its beak with its serrated tongue. It charged toward the person who threw the lump of soil at it without hesitation…
However, the man who threw the lump of soil to it slapped Fragrance Yard’s neck and shoved it away.
Fragrance Yard charged toward him again, and it was shoved away again…
“Hey, who’s the one rearing this goose. Is it edible?” The man was holding another lump of soil in his other hand, and he chuckled provocatively. He looked at Fragrance Yard’s buttocks.
“If it’s edible, it would have been eaten a long ti ago. You wouldn’t stand a chance. Alright, quickly co over and put on your helt. That fierce old man from the Ergency Departnt is here again.”
“Ah, what a pity. This goose is gigantic. It would taste amazing if we stew it in a tal pot.”

Zuo Cidian who was walking along with them chuckled and said, “We plan to make the adjoining building you are seeing now a lounge for paradics.”
Hospital Director Zhou froze for a mont. “Lounge for paradics? Doesn’t the hospital provide accommodation for the paradics?”
Zuo Cidian said with a smile, “Regarding that matter, we have also taken public ambulances and ambulances from other hospitals into consideration. After sending patients to the Ergency dical Center, drivers and paradics from any ambulance can get so rest in the lounge to drink tea, have so snacks, watch television, and stuff like that.”

Hospital Director Zhou could not help but smile. “I was worried about whether you guys would have enough patients after the construction of the ICU is completed. It seems that you guys already have plans.”
“As an Ergency dical Center, we should live up to our na.” Huo Congjun never made any compromises when it ca to this.
“You have my support. Now that you guys are a center, there’s no turning back.” Hospital Director Zhou’s expression beca a little more solemn. “The surgical volu and number of patients treated must be increased, and money is also a consideration. But when it ca to the number of staff mbers, you guys still have to try to keep it down. The Ergency dical Center is now the largest departnt in the hospital. If you add more staff mbers, other departnt directors would have sothing to say about it.”
“They’re also going to comnt if we don’t hire more staff mbers.” Departnt Director Huo snorted a few tis and continued, “Now that we’re building an ICU, if there are insufficient staff mbers, we won’t be able to run the ICU properly.”
“Hm… I reckon that the ICU Departnt won’t allocate that many staff mbers and resources to you either.”
Huo Congjun said nonchalantly, “We don’t need that. I plan to hire soone from another hospital, but I have not encountered any good candidate for the ti being.”
Huo Congjun looked at Hospital Director Zhou as he spoke.
Hospital Director Zhou smiled. She lowered her head and thought about it for a mont. “Alright, then. When the ti cos, I’ll hook you up with a few candidates. By the way, regarding the lounge for paradics, it’s an extrely brilliant idea. It doesn’t take much money, and it should be very effective. Doctor Zuo is a clever person indeed.”
Compared with the ICU that had to be equipped with all kinds of facilities and equipnt, the cost-effectiveness ratio of the lounge for paradics was definitely a lot higher.
Zuo Cidian flashed a shy smile. “I’ve carried out so surveys together with Doctor Ling, and I feel that this lounge for paradics is very important.”
“Very clever indeed.” Hospital Director Zhou praised Zuo Cidian again. She then looked around and said, “Speaking of Ling Ran, is he operating on the patients? I saw that the hospital beds in your departnt are full, aren’t they?”
“A patient suffering from cardiac trauma ca in just now, and because we ran out of hospital beds, we transferred him to the Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery and sent him straight to the operating theater.” Huo Congjun paused for a mont and continued, “Ling Ran followed them there to take a look.”
Hospital Director Zhou did not see anything wrong with the first part of what Huo Congjun said. No matter what the reason was, it was reasonable for the Ergency Departnt to transfer a patient to another departnt. But what was with the second part?
“Ling Ran went to the operating theater of the Departnt of Cardiovascular Surgery?” Hospital Director Zhou asked to confirm things.
“Yes.” Huo Congjun sighed.
“Aren’t you worried that they would eat Ling Ran up?”
“They wouldn’t have to resort to this,” Huo Congjun said a little diffidently, “Ling Ran said that he’s just taking a look.”
“And you believe in him?” Hospital Director Zhou sighed. “Let’s go over there and take a look together in case any trouble arises.”
Hospital Director Zhou put on a concerned front, but he was ready to grab a box of popcorn and watch the scene unfold.
