Huo Congjun left the mont he said that he would. He called several resident doctors and attending physicians over and gave them so orders. He then headed to his Burn Center to attend to things.

As a forr military doctor, most things Huo Congjun knew about dicine was about burns. Hence, when there was a large number of burn patients, Huo Congjun was not satisfied with rely exercising his role as a departnt director.

Everyone’s gaze shifted from Huo Congjun to Ling Ran.

“Next, all treatnt groups must transfer all the patients that can be transferred to other departnts. As for those who cannot be transferred, divide them into ‘critical’, ‘serious’, and ‘minor’.” Ling Ran had experienced the entirety of two disaster relief efforts, plus he did not even know how serious this fire was, so there was nothing much for him to be afraid about.

It was never a problem for Ling Ran to handle a major situation.

“Zuo Cidian, take a houseman with you and go to the patient assistance desk to help out. Tell the patients and their family mbers about the current situation. Ask the patients who don’t fulfill the criterion for ergency treatnt to leave or head to specialized departnts for treatnt.

“As for patients in the ward who are qualified to be discharged, try to discharge them as soon as possible. Nurses, start rolling out extra beds.”

Ling Ran was talking very quickly, but his aning was very clear, and his logic was sound. The slightly tense atmosphere in the ergency room quickly dissipated.

After that, Ling Ran looked at the resident doctors and said, “All treatnt groups should go ahead with their tasks. If there’s a need, I’ll help out.”

“I guess I don’t understand the part about Doctor Ling helping out. How will he be helping out? I’ll have to tell our chief physician about it…” the resident doctor said ekly.

It was tougher to work in the Ergency Departnt than other specialized departnts because even chief physicians and associate chief physicians had to be at the forefront of the charge. Aside from the fact that they got to sleep more when they were on the night shift, they rarely received any special treatnt.

That was very tough on the bodies of senior doctors who were already old and frail. And for junior doctors, it was also very tough for them to always have their superiors around them. This really bored them too.

So, if the resident doctors did not want to be scolded by the chief physicians and associate chief physicians, not only would they have to perform well in the operating theater and when making ward rounds, but they also had to carry out the daily tasks involved in the operating theater well.

“Associate Chief Physician Li will be fine with it too.”

There were only two chief physicians in the Ergency dical Center, and they were Huo Congjun and Chief Physician Tao. There were also three associate chief physicians, and two of them had their own treatnt groups. Along with the Ling Treatnt Group, they had five treatnt groups in total.

After the resident doctors asked Zuo Cidian about their respective group leaders, they realized that Zuo Cidian was saying all of them would be fine with it.

“How could they be fine with it?”

“Maybe Chief Physician Tao is indeed mild-tempered, but will the other leaders be fine with it?”

“I know, right? Associate Chief Physician Li from our treatnt group is super hot-tempered. If he asks about this later and I’m unable to co up with a satisfactory answer, he’ll probably flay alive.”

“Our boss isn’t an amicable man either…”

Zuo Cidian started chuckling.

Everyone looked at him, and he smiled. “So, do you think that your leaders are more hot-tempered, or do you think that Departnt Director Huo is more hot-tempered?”

The resident doctors who were uttering a cacophony of complaints imdiately went silent.

Zuo Cidian looked around and realized that there was nobody else around. Hence, he continued, “I’ll tell you guys sothing else: if soone were to call out on it at a later date, I won’t admit that I was the one who said it.”

All the resident doctors nodded.

Zuo Cidian nodded a little and said in his slightly hoarse voice, “Do you guys think that Doctor Ling is an amicable person?”

The resident doctors looked at each other vigilantly. They then realized what Zuo Cidian was implying and started chuckling.

“That’s why.” Zuo Cidian took a deep breath. “Go ahead with your tasks. Clear out the patients in your respective treatnt group. If you’re unable to discharge enough patients or the process is going slowly, Doctor Ling will go and help out.”

All the resident doctors understood what was going on now. Ling Ran was not an amicable person who was taking charge instead of Huo Congjun. He was the whip that Huo Congjun was using to dominate them.

This was totally Huo Congjun’s style.

The resident doctors did not say anything else. Those who were supposed to make calls did so, and those who had tasks on their plates went about them. They looked like a flock of sparrows who were shocked by the chiming of the clock tower, dying to sh*t on every single bald head in the temples.

Ling Ran discharged many of the patients from his treatnt group.

His treatnt group executed a policy where patients were kept in the hospital for a long ti because the Ergency dical Center was not monitored for the turnover of patients. Hence, there were even so patients in his wards who were only going through rehabilitation exercises.

Of course, these patients would be able to recover faster if they were to rehabilitate in the hospital. However, they would not be greatly affected if they were to rest at ho. They would just take a month or two longer to recover.

Ling Ran authorized the discharge forms for almost twenty patients at one go. It was only after that did he wash his hands and return to the ergency room.

Right now, all the treatnt groups in the ergency room were busy.

The second-string attending physicians had co over from the waiting rooms, their ho or even operating theaters so that they could clear out all the patients in the treatnt room, where the patients with minor burns would be gathered. The nurses were changing the treatnt room’s layout so that a large number of burn patients could fit inside.

As for the third-strong associate chief physicians and chief physicians, so of them had exited the operating theaters, while so were still working in the operating theaters.

As usual, the resident doctors were always the busiest. They were akin to worker bees in the hive, junior monks in the temples, and pimps in wh*rehouses. A patient with a minor fracture was transferred to the Orthopedics Departnt after receiving an X-ray. What a waste!

A patient, whose buttocks were whipped so badly that it was bleeding, was restrained by his parents and a resident doctor at the sa ti. He let out a shrill scream as he received an injection… This one was not going anywhere.

Ling Ran stopped in his tracks. He imdiately went over to them and said, “I’ll do it.”

The flustered resident doctor was not even able to voice out his objection. He had no choice but to continue restraining the patient. He watched as Ling Ran grabbed the needle holder and administered anesthetics.

Usually, patients with such minor injuries were the best source material for resident doctors or even housen to put in so practice. But today, they were forced to be relegated to assistants who did not actually do anything.

Ling Ran quickly administered local anesthetics. He then quickly perford drainage and stitched up the wound. Before the resident doctor could react, Ling Ran left, inadvertently passing the patient with stitches on his buttocks to the other party.

Soon after that, Ling Ran imdiately perford a tracheotomy on a patient beside him who was having difficulty breathing. After electrocardiography was done, the patient was transferred to the Cardiology Departnt.

It was flurry and chaos in the ergency room.

To clear out the treatnt room and make way for burn patients as soon as possible, all the doctors who were supposed to be resting were working. As for the patients in the waiting room, they were quickly being categorized and treated.

While the doctors were busy working, the siren of an ambulance rang out.
