Chapter 938: Chapter 823: Primordial Honor’s Final Plan
Tang Sanzang also knew that his idea had likely failed. This was Tang Sanzang’s final effort to prevent the future he most dreaded from happening. He was well aware that if this plan failed, it would an he’d have to use that move. These were the things Zhibei had told him.
He still rembered when Primordial Honor obtained the remains, Sun Wukong and several others had just started fighting Primordial Honor. At that ti, Zhibei once pulled Tang Sandao to a secluded place; no one knew what they talked about, but when Tang Sanzang erged again, Zhibei was nowhere to be seen. Sun Wukong noticed Zhibei’s absence as well, but didn’t think much of it, believing Zhibei was finding their master for healing since Sun Wukong knew Zhibei was heavily injured.
So Sun Wukong assud Zhibei was resting in a safe place after their master appeared, thus he did not inquire further. But in fact, Zhibei had found Tang Sanzang not for healing, because Zhibei’s injury was not a typical external or internal wound, but rather sequelae from excessively using his abilities as a Divine Oracle, an irreversible cost.
Zhibei found Tang Sanzang to tell him a matter that he had deduced with his own life, aning that this final deduction’s price was Zhibei’s life. Such a heavy price naturally rited more than the vague foretellings of before.
Zhibei told Tang Sanzang about the final outco of this battle: not only would Primordial Honor not die, but he would beco even stronger. However, even with this, Sun Wukong and his group could still defeat him, but should Primordial Honor not die, defeating him would worsen the situation rather than improve it. If they reached a point where defeating Primordial Honor was truly impossible, Tang Sanzang would have to intervene.
Finishing his words, Zhibei extended his hand and drew a pattern in Tang Sanzang’s palm—a move that could defeat Primordial Honor, obtained at the cost of Zhibei’s life. Tang Sanzang initially thought he wouldn’t need to use this move, but given the current situation, it seed things had worsened to their worst.
Clenching his right hand, Tang Sanzang tried hard to calm himself. There was still a chance; this move didn’t need to be used yet. As Tang Sanzang clutched his hands rembering the move Zhibei had imparted, Sun Wukong and Xi Zhao once more charged into the sky.
At this mont, the body that was once Blast Heaven Phoenix was still in the air, but what was previously Blast Heaven Phoenix’s head had turned into Primordial Honor’s face. That’s right, it was Primordial Honor’s face. Before, Primordial Honor had occupied Ziling’s body and was influenced by Ziling’s undying will, which forced him to use Ziling’s form. However, once Ziling was decapitated, the will attached to his body dissipated, indicating Ziling’s true death.
Freed from Ziling’s will interference, Primordial Honor could revert to his own face—the face from his soul and essence state. But it was just a face; the body still belonged to Blast Heaven Phoenix, a beautiful woman’s body with a man’s head, looking extrely bizarre. From this, it was clear that although Primordial Honor loved Blast Heaven Phoenix dearly, in choosing between the phoenix and his own life, he chose his own life without hesitation.
Though Primordial Honor’s head had taken over Blast Heaven Phoenix’s body and revived once more, Sun Wukong and Xi Zhao weren’t too fearful. Blast Heaven Phoenix’s body was just the Power of the Phoenix from Fla God’s body condensed, possessing partly Primordial Honor’s bone and blood, yet compared to the previously sealed body, it was far inferior.
Furthermore, Primordial Honor’s soul and essence had been mostly severed and sealed. Now, Primordial Honor’s power was not truly his; he rely had the realm of Primordial Honor without the actual strength. Even Xi Zhao alone could defeat this version. It was rely Primordial Honor’s desperate struggle.
But was it really so? If Sun Wukong and Xi Zhao could see through it, how could Primordial Honor not know? He was well aware that Blast Heaven Phoenix’s body just saved him from the awkwardness of fighting with rely a head, but did little for his power. Yet, Primordial Honor wouldn’t sit idle. To counterbalance this, he had already prepared beforehand.
Why would he, with just a head, riskily ambush Sun Wukong and then bite Zhu Bajie, even at the cost of so spirit, to absorb the power of Soul Devourer from Cheng Qian and Bu Yun? All this had a purpose: enabling Primordial Honor to quickly boost his power upon occupying Blast Heaven Phoenix’s body.
How could Primordial Honor swiftly increase his power? Simple, for Primordial Honor, nature’s spiritual energy no longer mattered. What mattered most was spirit. By now, many might have guessed what Primordial Honor intended.
However, Sun Wukong and Xi Zhao hadn’t realized it yet. Amidst such tense battle, staying calm to analyze was incredibly challenging, let alone delving into the intent behind all of Primordial Honor’s actions. Although Sun Wukong’s right hand was crippled and his abdon gravely injured, his body’s recovery was astonishing with the full integration of the Five Elents Power. Though the right arm couldn’t be used yet, his abdominal wound had improved significantly.
With Jingu Bang in his left hand, Sun Wukong had reached Primordial Honor’s front, while Xi Zhao ghostly maneuvered to his back. Primordial Honor remained unflustered. Though his situation was poor, it was still within his control. Victory in battle had many definitions. For Primordial Honor, victory ant eliminating his enemies, despite his own dire straits.
Primordial Honor awkwardly lifted his hands and suddenly started spinning on the spot. As he spun, small flas ignited on him, quickly growing. By the ti Sun Wukong’s left hand swung Jingu Bang at him, the flas had ford a towering pillar of fire. Sun Wukong’s strike was deflected by the swirling flas, causing his heart to sink—Primordial Honor certainly wasn’t easy to deal with.
As the towering fire pillar spun faster, many small fire phoenixes, each about the size of human heads, were flung from it. Sun Wukong and Xi Zhao, closest to the pillar, were imdiately besieged by over a dozen fire phoenixes. Even with one hand, Sun Wukong’s left hand wielded Jingu Bang imperviously, scattering all attacking fire phoenixes.
Xi Zhao, too, swung Gan Qi, slashing all nearby fire phoenixes, but more phoenixes bypassed them, heading en masse towards those on the ground. Moreover, a significant portion of fire phoenixes continuously vanished into the space, their destination unknown.
These small fire phoenixes weren’t individually strong, each only with a Nine Patterns Supre realm, and slightly larger ones were just at the Domain Lord primary grade. For those already at the Heavenly Venerate realm, they could easily crush them. Yet, the fire phoenixes were too nurous, falling like a fiery rain that turned the entire sky red.
Moreover, these phoenixes lacked corporeal form; once scattered, they soon gathered again. Quickly, everyone on the ground was surrounded by them. Strangely though, the phoenixes seed to inflict no real damage; being perated by them just felt slightly weakening—a curious phenonon.
But Sun Wukong and Tang Sanzang soon sensed sothing amiss, loudly warning, “Run, don’t resist! These Fire Phoenixes can devour spirit. Run, disperse!” Sun Wukong and Tang Sanzang’s words startled everyone, prompting them to frantically dash away in all directions.
By now, Primordial Honor’s intentions had beco clear: first, reclaiming the devouring power from Zhu Bajie, then using that power to absorb the soul-devouring strength from the Soul Devouring Monk, Cheng Qian, along with the Soul Devouring Insects from Bu Yun, attaching their abilities to the Power of the Phoenix. Using the nurous fire phoenixes to devour everyone’s spirit would replenish his own. With ample spirit, even as a re head, he could still destroy these people. (To be continued.
