After the battle of Ancient Tis, when the Pioneer and Underworld Venerate fell and secretly plotted their resurrection, the Primordial Honor knew his robbed spirit was targeted by the Pioneer and Underworld Venerate. Although he was quite confident in reclaiming that spirit, there’s still a chance of failure. If it fails, and others acquire the spirit, he would lose all opportunities. Hence, at that ti, he introduced a very special bug from his universe to this Fang Universe.
This bug is called the Soul Devouring Insect. The Primordial Honor cultivated so people specifically to rear and breed these bugs, eventually letting mature Soul Devouring Insects slowly invade so small worlds, stealing people’s spirits without anyone noticing. Soul Devouring Insects are not organisms of this Fang Universe, hence are hard to be detected, and the people of this universe haven’t reached the level to perceive their own spirits. Only so truly gifted individuals can barely touch upon the level of spirit. Thus, the Primordial Honor’s plan was very successful. In the ensuing ti, the appetite of the Primordial Honor grew larger. Small worlds, Interdiate worlds up to High Level worlds, rapidly expanded the population of the Soul Devouring Insects to an indescribable extent.
This large number of Soul Devouring Insects gathered more and more spirits for the Primordial Honor. Although each person’s spirit might be small, the sheer number of Soul Devouring Insects made up for it. Back in the Pangu Realm, Sun Wukong defeated the Tathagata Buddha, one of the people under the Primordial Honor who bred Soul Devouring Insects to gather spirits for the Primordial Honor. The Ancient Primordial World is one of those High Level worlds whose spirits have been completely taken. The Soul Devouring Monk of the Ancient Primordial World, due to his special constitution, experienced mutations after the Soul Devouring Insect entered his body and took his spirit, eventually becoming a physique that can devour anything now.

Ling Weizimo sent Ye Zi and others to that Mystic Space, granting them not only the power of spirit but unlocking the mories in Ye Zi and Ye Wu’s minds. According to the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s plan, Ye Zi and the others would bring the Elixir Spirit Pill and head to the Fallen Tomb. The entrance to the Fallen Tomb was already prepared by the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent. Under the influence of destiny forces, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent foresaw Sun Wukong’s failure and even his death in the future. This is inevitable, aning regardless of manipulations or designs, Sun Wukong would be defeated by the Primordial Honor. The only difference is whether Sun Wukong would be killed. If killed, that would be the end; if not, there’s still a possibility.
At this ti, another link in the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent’s plan began to play its role. This link is Xing Tian. Tang Sanzang broke free from the Primordial Honor’s control by self-transcending using the Transcendence Bloom. Xing Tian, with even greater arrogance, broke through the Primordial Honor’s control by sheer desire for combat. Xing Tian is known as the War God, and battle is everything to him. Anything unrelated to battle is insignificant to him. So, when he received the Primordial Honor’s order to have all Ancestral Witches protect Hou Yi, Xing Tian resisted and broke the control.
At this juncture, the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent found him. Originally, based on Xing Tian’s personality, he wouldn’t heed the Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent.
