For the content inscribed on that stele, the enemy's understanding was to find seven individuals who were connected to each other and could use combined ultimate techniques. Then through these seven, the aning of the latter part would be revealed. "Placed in a desperate situation and then find a way to survive," the literal aning was to discover another path to life after facing an extre crisis, but it was obvious that the secret to eternal life wouldn't be so simple. And that bright moon in the vast sky was clearly no ordinary person, except that his mory seed sowhat damaged and couldn't provide too much content. However, under his guidance, the enemy managed to find four individuals with compatible energies, and when these four t, the enemy discovered they all practiced the sa cultivation technique. Furthermore, it was a naless technique.
Therefore, the enemy speculated that sothing ought to happen after finding seven people who practiced this unique technique, and that was related to the legend of eternal life. These four people were the ones Sun Wukong had just defeated, the dead. Because Sun Wukong didn't harm their lives, it was only due to the golden finger absorbed by Zhu Bajie causing so backlash to the four that the enemy didn't desperately fight with Sun Wukong.
Not long ago, while these four were cultivating together, they suddenly felt a faint connection emanating in the direction of the Buddha-worshipping Sect. Without a doubt, near the Buddha-worshipping Sect was the fifth person who practiced this technique, which led to the subsequent suppression of the Buddha-worshipping Sect by the Battle Buddha Sect and battles among so nearby sects. However, up to now, despite the Battle Buddha Sect having recruited a large number of disciples from over a dozen sects including the Buddha-worshipping Sect, they still hadn't found that person, and recently, the aura emitted by that person had also disappeared. These past few days, the enemy had been planning to mobilize the power of the entire sect to completely crush the Buddha-worshipping Sect and then search one by one until that person was found.
That was the situation. After hearing this, Sun Wukong's heart was like a surging tide. As long as this universe didn't face destruction, their lifespans would be eternal too.
Indeed, these people were the Underworld God Army. They were living people, and also immortal in another sense. And this legend of eternal life from the Buddha Lotus Pure Land Realm seed to be alluding to those Underworld Gods. Additionally, these four individuals from the Battle Buddha Sect indeed knew how to use the combined ultimate techniques exclusive to the Underworld God Army. First, a person who knew how to use the Nine Decisions appeared in the Battle Buddha Sect, followed by four who could use the Underworld God Army's combined ultimate techniques, and they were also searching for a fifth person to unify with and use the combined ultimate techniques. Coupled with the legend from the Buddha Lotus Pure Land Realm, Sun Wukong was certain that all these were not coincidences but had so kind of inevitable connection. What was supposed to be a very simple journey to the West had suddenly revealed all these matters. Moreover, Sun Wukong was concerned about another point; as far as he knew, the Underworld God Army led by the Underworld Venerate ca from another universe. The Underworld Venerate intended to conquer this universe, which is why he waged war against the pioneers leading the races of this universe.
After that war, the Underworld God Army was almost entirely annihilated, with the survivors all trapped in the Patrolling Celestial World. So where did these four individuals' cultivation techniques and combined ultimate skills co from? Sun Wukong also knew very well that this legend of eternal life from the Buddha Lotus Pure Land Realm was incorrect. Perhaps the original aning of the legend was to find the Underworld Gods trapped in the Patrolling Celestial World, as they possessed the secret to eternal life. But as the story was passed on, it morphed into its current form. Moreover, it seems that the Patrolling Celestial World had only been opened once since its establishnt, during this trial. So, how did the secrets of the Underworld God Army get out? That is to say, who spread this legend?
This enemy did not seem to know much, and further questioning would have to wait until the four people woke up. While Sun Wukong was pondering these things, the enemy had been standing at the door the whole ti, bowing his head, clearly very wary of Sun Wukong. Looking at the enemy, Sun Wukong suddenly felt that this person was quite pitiable, as all his sches were just a joke in his own eyes. Shaking his head, Sun Wukong said to the enemy, "The legend of eternal life from the Buddha Lotus Pure Land Realm is completely wrong. In this world, eternal life simply cannot exist. So you can stop all your plans. Do not allow your delusions to lead you astray!"
How could Sun Wukong, who possessed the Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes, fail to see that the enemy was already deeply convinced of eternal life, due to the legend, the appearance of the stele, and the four people found, to the extent that he would do anything in such a state? He was now submitting to Sun Wukong partly indeed due to Sun Wukong's displayed overwhelming strength, and partly because he wanted to live as long as possible, for he believed he had found the thod to eternal life. Before he achieved eternal life, he could endure any humiliation, as long as he could stay alive.
Sun Wukong was well aware of what his adversary thought, which is why he had this to say. The enemy, on the surface, nodded in agreent, but inwardly he scoffed at the words. Most of what he had said was true, with only a small part concealed; he had actually found six people capable of executing the combined Unique Skill, not four. Those two additional individuals were the Guardians of the second floor of the Treasure Pavilion. Although they had been defeated by Sun Wukong, they had not died. Sun Wukong, with his mind preoccupied by nurous thoughts, had not noticed this.
"Enemy, I know what's on your mind. It's just that your Cultivation Realm and vision are too limited, too many matters are beyond your reach, and therefore, unknown to you. What you consider to be eternal life does indeed exist in a certain sense!" As soon as Sun Wukong finished speaking, his adversary wore a look of 'I knew it,' and his disdain for Sun Wukong's previous remarks grew even more intense. Sun Wukong continued, "The kind of people who can live forever, I have seen them with my own eyes. They possess not only eternal life but also an Immortal Body, with almost no thod capable of killing them. However, this kind of eternal life is not the right path!"
The expressions on his enemy's face changed continuously as Sun Wukong spoke—shock, doubt, horror, and contempt. Sun Wukong, of course, saw all these emotions. He sighed once again. Any human, upon learning about death, would develop an intense yearning for eternal life. How similar was the current enemy to his forr self? Back then, he believed that this world had spells for eternal youth, and so he sought them desperately. Now Sun Wukong understood clearly that the spells he had obtained for eternal youth were rely thods to extend life and avoid calamity, which could only prolong life to so extent but not grant eternal life.
There is only one way to obtain eternal life: to reach the endpoint of the Supre Path, becoming truly eternal. It was precisely because this enemy resembled his past self that Sun Wukong shared so much with him. "I know you don't believe it because the forr also firmly believed in the existence of spells for eternal youth. But when my Cultivation Realm reached a very high level, I realized that the so-called eternal youth from the past was all an illusion. Enemy, I can tell you, I once went to a place much more advanced than the High-Level worlds, even the Divine Kingdom, where a group of people are all immortal. But they are just livestock raised by others!"
Sun Wukong had said all there was to say; seeing his opponent's stubborn disbelief, he eventually let it go. After all, he wasn't a teacher with the grand ambition to Transcend the masses. Since the enemy was so obstinate, he had nothing more to say. "Enough, no point in talking to you. The Buddha-worshipping Sect owes my master a debt, and your Battle Buddha Sect is a great threat to it. Therefore, by tomorrow morning, you must disband the Battle Buddha Sect and never establish any Sect again; otherwise, I will surely annihilate you!" Having said this, Sun Wukong flicked his finger towards his enemy, leaving a seed in the adversary's sea of consciousness; if the enemy went against Sun Wukong's words, with just a thought from Sun Wukong, he would imdiately die a violent death.
The enemy, sensing the threat within his sea of consciousness, turned ashen-faced and slumped to the ground. But then he thought, Sun Wukong had ordered him to disband the Sect but did not say everyone must leave. He wouldn't need many, just take the Moonlit Firmant and those six individuals with him. Once he acquired the ability for eternal life, what would Sun Wukong be but an easy target to eliminate with a snap of the fingers?
Sun Wukong paid no further attention to his enemy's thoughts and waved his hand, saying, "Go bring those four people I defeated over here, I have so questions for them." The enemy startled, thinking Sun Wukong intended to kill those people, but then he realized that if Sun Wukong wanted them dead, he wouldn't bother with such trouble.
Soon, those four individuals were brought over. The forrly dead had already awakened, albeit extrely weak. After Sun Wukong questioned them, he waved for them to be taken down.
"Innate abilities? Quite peculiar indeed. To be born with the ability to join forces with others to execute a combined Unique Skill, but usually, the effect when working with others could only be enhanced by thirty percent at most. However, when used with soone sharing the sa aura, it could double the effect, and with every additional person, the power would double. No wonder four at the Peak of Unity Dao could unleash an attack at the Interdiate Grade of Dao Transformation. It seems this Buddha Lotus Pure Land has many secrets after all. But anyway, dawn is approaching, ti to return."
