The other three looked helplessly at Yao Wung and then let out a low sigh. Although they were regretful for not having obtained those three golden cores, the trio didn't say much. Moreover, if Yao Wung hadn't intervened in ti, Bu Yun would probably have been torn to shreds by the Demon Clan by now, with no chance of survival.
At that mont, Bu Yun seed to suddenly rember sothing and turned to ask Jing Potian, "Don't you have one too?" Jing Potian smiled awkwardly and answered, "Uh, about that, I didn't control my strength properly, and that golden ant was obliterated." After Jing Potian finished speaking, the others didn't know what to say, even though they had already guessed and analyzed many things, there was no specific help for their current predicant.
"Hao Chen, didn't you say earlier that your guess might help us with the situation at hand? So what should we do now? We can't just keep waiting, right? Are we supposed to wait until the Six Kingdoms War is over?" Jing Potian voiced, sowhat despondently manipulating the orb of light, making it float aimlessly midair.
"Don't talk for a mont, I think I'm onto sothing. Yao Wung, can you summon the Ancestor Demon again?" Hao Chen suddenly spoke gravely, turning to Yao Wung. "Barely, but I'm not sure what the Ancestor Demon will do after he cos out. Maybe he'll help us break through this space, or maybe, he'll just kill us all!"
"Yao Wung, aren't you the holder of the World Suppressing Stele? How is it? Would the Ancestor Demon kill you too?" Bu Yun asked in surprise. Yao Wung shook his head, "The situation is a bit special, but I can't explain it. In any case, I can't control any of the Ancestor Demon's actions, and in his eyes, there's no difference between and you."
Just then, the four of them suddenly heard a sound in their ears, the creaking noise of an old door being slowly opened. The four sharply looked up in the direction of the sound. Just as their heads lifted, they suddenly saw a white light appear not twenty ters away. The white light grew larger and eventually ford into the shape of a door made of light.
"Is this, is the hall door opening? What's happening?" They had been in absolute darkness for half a Chinese Hour, and by now, night had turned to morning outside. Just as the four were starting to feel incredulous, soone walked in from the door outside. Because they were backlit, it was impossible to see the person's features clearly, but they could make out the strange shape of the figure.
The four instantly stood up and were on full alert. Though it seed like a good opportunity to escape, they did not act rashly. The sudden opening of the hall door and the strange silhouette in the light made them all feel that the situation was probably not so simple.
Suddenly, the person took a step inside, and at that mont, Jing Potian shouted loudly, "That's the King of Qin from the Netherworld World, I recognize his energy, quick, hurry, while the door is still open!" Jing Potian was extrely sensitive to the King of Qin's energy because the King of Qin had once ambushed him and severed one of his left hands.
As soon as the King of Qin entered the space completely, Jing Potian could feel him.
Upon hearing Jing Potian's voice, the other three were stunned for a mont but then quickly understood. It was apparent that soone from the Huangquan World had also reached this palace and, just like them, had opened the hall door and walked in. However, all four of them were very clear that once the hall door was shut, the space would be completely sealed off.
Unless soone else opened the door from outside, they would likely be trapped there forever.
As soon as the King of Qin entered the hall, Jing Potian's shout startled him so much that he almost dropped Lin Xi, who he was carrying. Since this space was independent of the City of Ruins, unless one was fully inside, it was impossible to perceive the situation within the hall. Likewise, those inside could not sense what was happening outside.
Thus, only after the King of Qin had fully entered could they detect each other.
In an instant, the King of Qin realized that the person was Jing Potian, and at the sa ti, he saw that there were three others with him, obviously his companions. But before the King of Qin could react, the four n rushed towards him ferociously, as if possessed.
The King of Qin was taken aback, and without even the ti to put down Lin Xi, he flicked his left hand, and the tips of his fingers emitted both the Imperial Ghost Seal and the Demon Suppressing Seal with the speed of lightning.
At the sa ti, two specters of evil spirits appeared out of thin air and didn't hesitate to charge towards the four n. Although the King of Qin knew these two apparitions stood no chance against the four, he refused to resign himself to fate. The mont the two evil spirits lurched forward, the King of Qin, carrying Lin Xi, rolled on the spot and vanished into the darkness.
The four of them watched as the streak of white light beca thinner and thinner, knowing that the palace doors were closing on their own. However, two spectral images of evil spirits suddenly appeared in their path. The four of them were instantly enraged and unleashed their strongest attack while sprinting desperately.
The spectral images of the evil spirits, being no match in the first place, were torn to shreds by a single blow from the enraged and desperate group of Yao Wung, and then transford back into two seals on King of Qin's body.
But the montary delay caused by this blockage ant the doors were almost closed, and yet the four of them were still five ters away from the streak of white light. Under normal circumstances, a re five ters would be no distance at all; each of the four present was a top-tier expert, any one of whom could cross ten thousand ters in the blink of an eye.
But now, those five ters seed endlessly long, and in the helpless, regret-filled gazes of the four, that white light turned into a thin line and then suddenly vanished.
The four of them couldn't hold back their montum and went straight through the spot where the white light had vanished. Bu Yun, seemingly in disbelief, quickly turned and reached behind him, only to find that the place where the palace doors had been was now completely empty.
Bu Yun punched the ground hard and shouted in frustration, "Damn it, just a little bit more, damn, damn, are we really going to be trapped here forever?"
Yao Wung and Hao Chen both let out deep sighs, dejectedly sitting down on the ground. Jing Potian, however, suddenly held his breath and focused as if he was listening to sothing, controlling the white light in front of him as it drifted in a particular direction. Upon seeing Jing Potian's action, Yao Wung and the others rembered that King of Qin was still sowhere in this hall.
Seeing Jing Potian intending to follow the light, Hao Chen suddenly reached out to stop him and whispered, "The enemy lurks in the shadows while we are exposed; do not rush over recklessly. Besides, we don't know the size of this space; if we get separated, it might not be so easy to find each other again."
Jing Potian thought for a mont, then nodded but still controlled the light to fly toward the direction where they rembered King of Qin rolling away.
Jing Potian was eager to kill King of Qin imdiately, but thinking of King of Qin's enigmatic cultivation technique and the pervasive, frightening aura of death surrounding him, if he were not careful and got ambushed by King of Qin, it probably wouldn't end with just losing a hand—it could very well cost him his life.
Moreover, within this great hall, the furthest distance their Divine Sense could perceive was only about twenty ters; beyond that, they could feel nothing, so they didn't dare extinguish the light globes.
Otherwise, in complete darkness, everyone would be an enemy to King of Qin, and he could attack at will, while they themselves would have too many constraints, potentially hurting one of their own if they acted recklessly—that would be a big problem.
Thus, the four spread the four light globes around, keeping approximately three ters apart from each other, and then slowly moved to one side. At the sa ti, they extended their Divine Sense to its fullest extent, hoping to detect King of Qin ahead of ti and strike before he could react.
However, after approximately half a Chinese hour, they still hadn't found any trace of King of Qin. It was as if everything they had experienced was rely an illusion. In the end, they even controlled the light globes to conduct a thorough carpet search, but the result was still that they found nothing.
Had King of Qin vanished into thin air? Or had he fled to an even farther place during that ti? That was impossible, because only a fool would run too far from the location of the palace doors; otherwise, if soone were to open the doors from the outside again, there would be no way to get back in ti.
Just as the four were bewildered, they suddenly heard a faint voice nearby. The voice was weak, but Yao Wung heard it clearly. The voice said, "King of Qin? Where is this?"
