At this mont, near the West City Gate of the City of Ruins, where Yao Wung and his group were located, a trendous battle erupted. Just monts ago, they had fought desperately to repel the seemingly endless swarm of ants, and without a mont's rest, they were now faced with four gigantic golden ants.
These four enormous gold ants were not only highly defensive but also agile in their movents; most importantly, they cooperated with one another. Just as Yao Wung's group had briefly discussed their strategy and were about to make a move, they were suddenly stomped underfoot by the golden ants descending from the sky.
The massive impact force blasted a pit over thirty ters across in the sandy ground.
The sand grains at the bottom of the large pit had been completely compacted into hard stone by the trendous pressure, and the six thick legs of the golden ants resembled six sharp, sturdy spears.
Although Yao Wung and his companions managed to prevent being impaled by the legs of the golden ants either by blocking with their weapons or creating shields at the critical mont, the overwhelming force still resulted in injuries for the group.
However, Yao Wung had sustained the lightest injuries of the four, as he had placed the Tyrant Sword Juque, which had followed him for countless years, in front of his chest at the last second, causing the golden ant's leg to stomp directly on it. It was also for this reason that Yao Wung was the first to counterattack.
Despite being in agonizing pain and spitting blood, Yao Wung laughed maniacally like a ghost and burst into flas with the Destruction Sword Fenji in his right hand. As his wrist flipped, the flas on Fenji surged, clearly intent on severing the leg of the gold ant that had just stomped on him.
The golden ant seed to be extrely wary of the Fla Longsword that had now lengthened to six or seven ters, flexing its six legs slightly before leaping away. However, the force exerted by its legs upon leaping once again hit Yao Wung with a crushing blow, but this ti he forcefully suppressed the blood that almost burst forth.
Propping himself up on the ground with the Tyrant Sword Juque, he slowly stood up.
As Yao Wung slowly rose to his feet, his aura began to climb increntally until, with his chest fully thrust out, Yao Wung's domineering and unruly deanor reached its peak.
Holding the Tyrant Sword Juque in his left hand and clutching the Destruction Sword Fenji in his right, Yao Wung suddenly roared up at the sky, "You re ants dare to trample underfoot, If I do not annihilate you today, I, Yao Wung, shall never rest!"
As his roar echoed, the already ragged clothes on Yao Wung's body suddenly burst apart, and his muscles swelled rapidly, healing the injuries he had sustained at a speed visible to the naked eye. What was most important was that silver-white fur began to grow all over Yao Wung's body.
Furthermore, his originally human ears increasingly sharpened, and two fangs at the corners of his mouth that glead coldly grew gradually longer, while his eyes also slowly transford into a deep green color. Finally, when a silver tail erged behind Yao Wung, he laughed heartily once more, and then let out a resounding wolf howl towards the moon!
Yao Wung's true form turned out to be a silver wolf! Ordinarily, to suppress his indomitable wolf nature and the wild instincts embedded deep in his bones, Yao Wung moved about in human form. Only when faced with deadly danger or an adversary threatening enough to his life would Yao Wung unseal and revert to his true form—the Howling Moon Silver Wolf.
However, the reason he did not revert to his true form during that close call in the Netherworld World was that this transformation stemd from his bloodline, not his soul.
Hao Chen and Bu Yun from the Myriad Demons Country, realizing that Yao Wung had reverted to his true form, were also taken aback. Although they both knew that the four golden ants were strong, they didn't feel they were insurmountably so. But with Yao Wung reverting to his true form, it was clear that, in his eyes, the four golden ants were formidable enough to warrant such a transformation.
Perhaps their own Realms were not as advanced, but since Yao Wung had reverted to his true form, Hao Chen and Bu Yun no longer hesitated. In any case, being trampled by the ants was enough to provoke their rage and possibly drive them mad.
First to transform was Bu Yun, and his actions were particularly bizarre; he plunged the Destruction Halberd ruthlessly into his own waist. The intense pain made Bu Yun cry out, but soon the halberd had completely disappeared into his body. Despite the agony that contorted his face into a ferocious grimace, a sinister smile suddenly appeared.
As this smile spread across his face, Bu Yun's body suddenly dissipated into a large cloud of black mist, and the golden giant ant, at the mont Bu Yun turned into mist, leapt up and landed next to the golden giant ant that had previously pinned down Yao Wung. The two massive ants entangled their antennae with each other, seemingly engaged in so form of communication.
The cloud of black mist that was Bu Yun gathered back together after dispersing but did not revert to a human form; it remained a swirling darkness in the midair. But if you assud that Bu Yun's true form was a black cloud, you would be sorely mistaken.
From a distance, it appeared as a cloud, but upon closer inspection, you would see that the cloud was actually comprised of countless tiny black insects fluttering in midair.
These insects were extrely small, only about one-third the size of a fingernail, and they flew silently, making them almost impossible to spot unless you looked very carefully. This explained why the black mist previously clinging to the Destruction Halberd turned any creature it touched into a pile of bones in the blink of an eye.
In truth, Bu Yun's original form was an ancient, peculiar insect known as the Soul Devouring Insect. There was only one true insect; all others were extensions of itself, controlled by its consciousness. Moreover, if the original insect was on the verge of death, it could use one of the other black insects to die in its place. This Soul Devouring Insect fed on all things in the Heavens and the Earth.
As long as it existed, they could consu it.
Beasts, birds, Heaven and Earth Treasures, and even so minerals and tals infused with Spiritual Energy could be their food. They could even directly devour Spiritual Power, Spiritual Energy, Divine Sense, and Souls if they wished. As such, these peculiar insects were exterminated during a great war a long ti ago, with no records of any surviving to this day.
Yet, to everyone's surprise, Myriad Demons Country happened to have one, and it had cultivated to the Peak of Nine Patterns Supre, even capable of assuming a human form. However, if news that Bu Yun's true form was a Soul Devouring Insect were to spread, Myriad Demons Country would likely face a joint attack from the other major Divine Kingdoms.
If Bu Yun's origins were deed formidable, Hao Chen's true form would almost seem laughable by comparison. Next to Yao Wung's formidable Silver Wolf form and Bu Yun's peculiar insectile body, Hao Chen appeared completely unremarkable, for his true form was none other than what seed to be an ordinary rock, the kind one wouldn't give a second glance if found on the road.
Seeing that the three from Myriad Demons Country had revealed their trump cards, Jing Potian from Annihilation Demon Nation sighed inwardly, knowing he couldn't avoid joining the fray, acknowledging the golden ants' strength.
Without any noticeable action, Jing Potian's body, which the golden ant had pinned down, suddenly transford into a bolt of lightning and reappeared at the edge of the large crater.
"You Myriad Demons Country people can beco your true forms, while we from Annihilation Demon Nation can directly harness the Power of Destruction. Yao Wung, Hao Chen, Bu Yun, let's see who among us can hit this golden ant first!"
No sooner had Jing Potian finished speaking than he stood at the edge of the sand pit, raised his right hand and pointed to the sky, saying, "Where there is life, there is death; where there is creation, there is destruction. Today, I, Jing Potian, shall borrow this Power of Destruction to end this imperfect world!"
The mont his words fell, atop the heavens, an Annihilation Nine Headed Serpent composed entirely of lightning erged in the night, coldly observing everything below.
