When Yao Wung and his three companions each stepped through the western West City Gate, Yao Wung had already sensed that the City of Ruins was probably not just a simple ruined city. Because this city, though separated from the outside by only a wall, was almost another world entirely.

In fact, it was a world within the Sand Realm, a small world created within a larger one by Supre Great Magical Power without interfering with the larger world, and the City of Ruins was precisely such a place.

However, after the four of them entered, they discovered that there was nothing in sight but endless yellow sand and the ruins of various buildings from the original city, with nothing else. No poisonous insects, no ferocious beasts. Whether they looked with their naked eyes or scouted with Divine Sense, they couldn't feel the slightest breath of other life.

"This is strange, didn't the Judge say that there are poisonous insects and ferocious beasts everywhere here? Why is there nothing? Can you all feel anything?" The one who asked was Bu Yun. Because of Bu Yun's peculiar abilities, he was very sensitive to the souls and life force of various creatures. Yet this ti, he didn't feel anything at all.

"I can't feel anything either. Could it be that we got lucky this ti? Were all the poisonous insects drawn away by those two groups of people?" Hao Chen replied this ti. In fact, Hao Chen's strength was also top-notch, but at the start of the Six Kingdoms War, he was almost killed by Bi Hai and Jixin due to his carelessness, had Bu Yun not arrived in ti.

Otherwise, Hao Chen might not have been able to stand here.

The other two also shook their heads, equally unable to detect any signs of life. Nevertheless, the four of them still didn't relax at all. Although they didn't sense any life, it didn't an there really was nothing there; in this vast universe, they were not omniscient.

Yet, after wandering for a full hour, the four hadn't encountered any poisonous insects. But Yao Wung beca alert when he realized they were lost! Because at that mont, all four of them had sohow returned to the entrance.

Jing Potian then went to the gate where they entered, attempting to see if they could leave, only to find that it seed to be sealed with an extrely powerful Seal and utterly impassable.

For a ti, the four were baffled. Why had this place beco a maze? In theory, for such a dilapidated city, they should be able to see the tallest building in the city center just by standing on tiptoes, and as they walked, they occasionally climbed atop ruins of collapsed buildings to observe their path.

But even so, they got lost? That was too preposterous. The four sowhat refused to believe it and discussed among themselves. They decided this ti to directly fly over the ruins of the buildings or houses—though they couldn't actually fly, there was little difference.

However, after another half an hour, the four were in disbelief. They found themselves back at the city gate once more, Jing Potian again attempted to leave, but to no avail. Moreover, just before the second attempt to leave, Yao Wung had made a mark, fearing that another identical gate would interfere with their judgnt.

Now, this mark was here as well, aning that they had indeed returned to the sa place. This was truly puzzling for the four. Normally, mazes worked by intricate and complex passages that looped people around, causing them to lose their sense of direction and end up trapped or, accidentally guided to a specific location intended by the maze's designer.

But the four had walked on the walls the second ti around, aning they weren't affected by the complex paths of the maze, and yet they still ended up back where they started. That made no sense. It was as if one were to walk toward a target while looking at it, but their body ended up sowhere else.

"This is really creepy, could it be that the Judge is playing with us? How about we just break through the walls and rush over? We can't afford to waste ti here," Bu Yun said, looking inquiringly at Yao Wung while speaking. Among the four of them, Yao Wung was now the leader, so naturally, they needed his agreent.

"I've always had this feeling that we're being toyed with, yet we can't detect anything. Also, since entering this place, I've had a sense of crisis. Bu Yun, your sense of crisis is probably stronger than mine, right?" Yao Wung did not directly answer but instead posed a question back to Bu Yun.

Then, he drew the Tyrant Sword Juque from his back and went over to a wall, forcefully carving out a deep sword mark on it.

"Yes, this feeling is just like a death row inmate about to be beheaded, which is why I decided to just break through the wall. If we keep going like this, I'll definitely be the first to lose my mind," Bu Yun said, and then he took out his famous weapon, the Destruction Cloud Halberd. While loosening up his body, he walked towards the wall that Yao Wung had marked with a sword scratch.

However, at this mont, Hao Chen suddenly stopped Bu Yun, speaking in a low voice, "Hold on, sothing isn't right. The four of us have long reached the Supre Peak, blending the strength of the Nine Paths, so theoretically there shouldn't be any maze or Illusion Array capable of trapping us. Yet, we've ended up back where we started twice now—there must be sothing peculiar about this.

Don't act rashly." But as soon as he finished speaking, they all heard a cheer from a great distance away.

"That's Bi Hai from the Myriad Gods Hall. I've fought with him before—I rember that voice. It seems they've already reached the center of the city. Let's hurry, or the Primordial Earth Pearl will fall into the Myriad Gods Hall's hands," Yao Wung said.

Without waiting to slash the dirt wall in front of him with his sword, Bu Yun suddenly stepped forward with large strides, thrusting and lifting with the Destruction Cloud Halberd in his hand, and the wall collapsed thunderously.

"Let's go, just smash through the walls..." Before he could finish, Bu Yun forcibly swallowed the rest of his sentence. As the dirt wall he had struck fell, an innurable horde of giant black ants, each more than a person tall, suddenly erged from beneath everyone's feet.

Not only were these ants of freakishly large size, but the two curving, cold-gleaming mandibles on their mouths also deeply alard the group.

"I told you sothing was fishy. Now we understand. This is definitely a trap—an ambush that summons countless giant ants the mont we break a wall! Though we've realized it now, there's no ti for regret. If we don't destroy the walls, we can't get out, but if we do, the giant ants appear.

It seems no matter what we do, death is the only outco, whether it be from being trapped or bitten," Hao Chen said.

Yao Wung swung his sword in a horizontal slash; the gigantic Tyrant Sword struck the waist of a huge black ant. Contrary to what he had expected, the ant was rely sent flying by his strike instead of being cut in half. It appeared that these giant ants had much stronger defensive power than attack power.

With no ti to think further, as soon as he flung one ant away, countless others pounced on him.

These ants were remarkably strong and astonishingly durable; after a brief fight, the group had not managed to kill even a single one—only knock them unconscious at best. Yet all four were already looking disheveled; though uninjured, their clothes were tattered.

"Fellows, if we keep holding back and hiding our abilities, we'll likely die here. We're allies, aren't we?

Are you afraid your unique skills will be exposed?" Upon saying this, Yao Wung imdiately threw the Tyrant Sword Juque with great force at an especially large ant, marked by a few golden stripes on its body that was twice the size of a normal giant ant, sending it flying backwards, tumbling through countless others and clearing a thirty-so-ter-wide path through the swarm.

Then Yao Wung placed his hands over his stomach and slowly drew out a red and orange intermingled gigantic sword— the Destruction Sword Fenji. Since he couldn't slay them, he would have to turn them to ash. After drawing Fenji, with one swing in mid-air, a blazing column of fire appeared, then plumted down like a real pillar, instantly transforming the area below into a sea of flas.

Seeing Yao Wung bring out his ultimate move, the remaining three did not dare to delay. Bu Yun was the first to react, gripping the Destruction Cloud Halberd and letting out a mighty roar.

From within him, myriad black clouds billowed out, and the Destruction Cloud Halberd trembled violently, attracting all the black clouds to its tip, transforming it into a bizarre weapon with a spearhead now almost three or four tis its original size.

Hao Chen's movents were swift too. As he waved his hands, a flood of star-like silver lights spilled from his sleeves, forming shapes that shifted from the figure of a giant to weapons, constantly changing into one object after another.

Acting slightly slower than the rest, Jing Potian suddenly sat cross-legged on the ground with countless ghastly pale lightning bolts spreading around him. These persistent lightning bolts eventually coalesced into a Thunder Pond, with Jing Potian sitting at its center. He then grasped his left wrist with his right hand, evidently in preparation for sothing.
