"Are you the only one that was sent to this world?" Ryu asked.
"I'm not sure..."
Ryu nodded. He already knew that the answer was no. He had a feeling that the portal that the Fey finally finished building was only completed recently, and that ant that they had relied on a Dream Wraith to do it.
Obviously, it wasn't his wife; otherwise, she wouldn't still be alive and kicking. So that ant it had to be another poor soul.
And that was going to be the key.
They were using the abilities of the Dream Wraiths, but the odds that they had full control over it were next to nil. In fact, he was willing to bet that it was zero.
Ryu's hands subconsciously squeezed Mae's waist a bit, causing her to blush.
Noticing, he looked over with a chuckle.
"What is it? You're still so shy?"
Mae looked away, unable to et the intensity of his eyes.
Honestly, she was a bit disappointed. Ryu hadn't even tried to take her to bed in this last while. It almost felt like he was either too occupied with other things or, worse, had already expelled all his desires on others.
"Oh?" Ryu's smile deepened. His hand shifted down from Mae's waist to her ass. Suddenly, he felt that the dress she wore was far too in-the-way.
Ryu looked at Mac intently, who seed to now want to find a place to bury her head. He reached for her chin, pulling her face to his and kissing her lips.
He savored the taste. The sweetness practically flowed like honey, a feeling of intoxication overwhelming him.
The feeling of having a woman like her in his arms was undoubtedly the best.
He pulled away slowly, looking into her crimson eyes. The various lines of different shades of red seed to pop.
Mae's eyes looked a bit hazy, her head leaning slightly forward as though it wanted more.
Ryu smiled, stroking her cheek lightly.
"It isn't because I'm neglecting you. I'm sorry, but my focus is just elsewhere. After I deal with this, I promise I'll show you a good ti!"
Mae blinked awake after hearing these words. When she realized what she was doing, and how Ryu had read her like an open book, she felt slightly ashad.
Ryu shook his head, pulling her in closer.
"There's nothing a man loves more than for his wife to desire him. If you weren't like this, I would be disappointed instead. I don't want you to feel ashad. This is just... a problem I have to deal with myself."
Mae's gaze flickered with confusion, but after a mont, she slowly nodded. She leaned her head against Ryu again, feeling at peace.
"What do you need to do?" she asked softly.
Her voice had a foundation of gentleness to it, but there was a regal sort of temperant as well. It was enough to make Ryu almost regret not taking her right here and now.
"Tell about your abilities as a Dream Wraith. Let's say, for example... you wanted to establish a path of reincarnation; could you do it?"

Mae's lips parted before her brows furrowed. It was a bit of a silly question because the answer was obviously no. Even if the Dream Wraiths could do such a thing, her own cultivation was far too low to even attempt it unless she went to a lower world like Sacrum. But that obviously wasn't the kind of help Ryu needed.
But that aside, Dream Wraiths didn't have such capabilities. Their task was to guide and nothing else. They erased mories, cleansed the soul, and passed them on through the worlds to be randomly selected by another world to be born into. From there, everything else was handled by the Heavens. There was a reason the Phoenixes were the embodint of Reincarnation and not them. But even the Phoenixes didn't have direct say in what happened. In fact, they had little to no involvent at all.
Just representing sothing didn't an that you were a part of the process, the sa way Fire Dragons didn't appear every ti soone defied the Heavens and Lightning Qilins didn't appear every ti soone was facing a Tribulation.
Ancient Beasts were just the Heavens' thod of refining their laws. By allowing these beasts to carry aspects of their abilities, the various Phoenixes of their world could refine and better Rebirth, so on and so forth.
However, she knew that Ryu would never ask such a stupid question. At the very least, this shouldn't be his actual intention.
Ryu smiled. "How about manipulating an already existing Path of Reincarnation?"
Mae hesitated again, still not quite knowing what to say.
The answer was yes... sowhat. But again, she wasn't powerful enough.
But this ti, the possibility was at least less remote. The problem was that this world didn't have a normal Path of Reincarnation to begin with.
On the one hand, this was good because there were no other Dream Wraiths here that could stop her.
But on the other hand, the ss that it was would make it impossible for her to do much of anything. It might even be easier to create a new Path of Reincarnation from scratch, but that was expectedly
nigh impossible.
Ryu's smile deepened.
"Now, let's say, hypothetically, soone here already opened up a partial Path of Reincarnation just so that they could communicate across worlds and transport people to and from them. These people have no idea what they're doing, and now there's this gorgeous, red-eyed, slim-waisted, and proud-busted wife of Ryu Tatsuya who's just waiting here to take it over.
"What do you think would happen then?"
Mac's pupils constricted as she suddenly understood sothing, but then she blushed due to Ryu's praise. Why didn't she rember this man being so unserious sotis?
Ryu's grin widened.
His plan was simple.

The foundation had already been laid out by the efforts of the Fey. He just had to work with Mae to
take it over, tweak so things, and throw them into chaos.
At that point... they would have no choice but to dance to his tune.
