The next morning, as the first ray of sunlight quietly peeked into the room, the unique lazy atmosphere of the weekend slowly spread.

Huang Jun leisurely awoke from deep sleep, habitually turning sideways to seek that daily warmth and embrace, only to be startled to find no one beside him. The sweet sleeping faces of Qingqing and Weiwei were not nestled beside him as usual.

"Hmm?"

A touch of confusion, like a wisp of smoke in the morning mist, quietly rose, causing gentle ripples on the lake of Huang Jun’s heart.

"Qingqing? Weiwei? Where have they gone? Where have those two little ones run off to?"

A series of questions burst like a chain reaction in his mind, an inexplicable anxiety quietly grew, completely dispelling his remaining drowsiness, prompting him to swiftly get up and conduct a thorough search within the room, from the soft bedding to the hidden corners under the bed, to the depths of the wardrobe, leaving no corner unchecked for fear of missing any clue.

Yet.

Besides the dappled sunlight pouring in from the window and the surrounding emptiness, he found no trace of Qingqing and Weiwei.

"Qingqing! Weiwei!"

He raised his voice, calling out their nas.

The sound reverberated within the empty room, like a pebble thrown into a deep well, only echoing back his own voice with not a trace of response from the little ones.

"Perhaps they are elsewhere? In the bathroom? Or went to the kitchen for a drink?"

He muttered to himself, trying to comfort himself, while his steps had already unconsciously moved towards the door, ready to cast the search net to every corner of the residence.

Yet.

In that instant...

A thought flashed through his mind like lightning, abruptly halting his steps.

"Wait!"

He looked around, realizing he wasn’t in the mory-filled penthouse of Jinyuan District, but in the newly moved-in residence, an environnt not yet fully familiar to him.

"Haha, what a muddle-headed fool I am!"

He lightly patted his forehead, a relaxed smile erged on his face, the tension and worry in his heart dissipated: "Qingqing and Weiwei weren’t they in their own room alone last night! How could I have forgotten so quickly? Seems like I haven’t fully adapted to this new residence, nor to the habit of sleeping separately from the little ones, that’s why I made such a blunder..."

With that, he quietly walked towards that room.

"Babies, daddy is here!"

He softly said, pushing open the door.

Inside the room, Qingqing and Weiwei were curled up under the warm covers, sleeping soundly.

Sunlight stread through the curtains, casting a serene and peaceful glow over their sleeping faces.

"Good morning, my babies."

Huang Jun’s face blossod into a satisfied smile as he gently walked to the bed, leaning down to give each of their cheeks a morning kiss.

Unexpectedly, just at that mont—

"Mmhm~"

Almost at the sa ti, Qingqing and Weiwei let out soft murmurs in their sleep, then slowly opened their drowsy eyes.

"Daddy~"

Qingqing mumbled, asking, "It’s dayti, is it ti to get up?"

The little one was still in between dreams and reality, thinking Huang Jun was calling her to get up.

A sliver of regret rose in Huang Jun’s heart, not anticipating his actions would disturb the little ones’ sweet dreams.

With an apologetic smile, he gently patted them over the thin quilt, softly coaxing: "No rush, babies, sleep a little longer, get up after daddy has made breakfast."

Qingqing and Weiwei obediently nodded, their eyes closed once more.

But in the next mont, they opened their eyes again.

"Daddy, I can’t sleep anymore."

Huang Jun looked at them and helplessly chuckled.

After all, once a child’s sleep was broken, it wouldn’t be easy for them to fall back asleep.

He reached out to stroke their hair, gently saying: "Alright, since you can’t sleep, let’s get up and get dressed."

Weiwei, hearing this, imdiately threw off the covers with excitent and cheered: "Great! Getting up to get dressed, and we’re going to the aquarium to explore! I want to see the big whale with my own eyes..."

Qingqing smiled sweetly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, and said: "I also want to touch the dolphins!"

Huang Jun finally understood.

The hearts of those two little ones had already flown to that vibrant aquatic world, unable to remain in dreamland any longer...

But one must admit, the little ones’ mory was truly sharp, rembering clearly what was said last night.

"Alright, alright, going to see the big whale, going to touch the dolphins..."

As he helped organize their clothes, he laughed and said: "Quickly go wash up, once breakfast is done, we’ll head to the aquarium to see the big whale, see the dolphins..."

"Mm-hmm~"

Qingqing and Weiwei lightly jumped out of bed, their little feet quickly slipping into slippers, and then, like two happy little bunnies, they dashed off to the bathroom.

They began to busy themselves in an orderly fashion, one fetching water, the other squeezing toothpaste, their movents synchronized and earnest.

What touched the heart the most...

After finishing their own preparations, they thoughtfully squeezed white toothpaste onto Huang Jun’s toothbrush and filled a cup with clean water, gently placing it on the washstand.

Oh my!

Huang Jun’s fatherly heart nearly lted...

"Wonderful!"

Huang Jun couldn’t help but bend down to give the two little ones a rewarding kiss, making them giggle like silver bells.

Afterwards, he quickly joined the group in washing up, completing his hygiene routine swiftly.

After washing his face, he stood at the doorway, smiling as he asked the two little ones, "Qingqing, Weiwei, what would you like for breakfast this morning?"

Qingqing imdiately bead, sweetly saying, "I’m not picky, as long as it’s made by Daddy, I love it all!"

Weiwei nodded repeatedly, chiming in, "Yes, yes, too! Whatever Daddy makes is delicious!"

"Haha, alright!"

Upon hearing this, Huang Jun felt a burst of joy: "Then Daddy will get creative and make sothing new for you."

Saying this, he turned and went into the kitchen.

Opening the refrigerator door...

Hey!

There are still a few stead buns!

Huang Jun had a flash of genius, an idea ford in his mind.

He decided to surprise the children by making a dish that was both simple and delicious—Mixed Stead Bun and Egg Pancakes.

He took round stead buns, ham, carrots, peas, and eggs out of the refrigerator.

He washed the ham, carrots, and peas thoroughly.

He turned on the stove, adding water to a pot, preparing to blanch the peas once the water boiled.

anwhile,

he placed the stead buns on the cutting board, picked up the knife...

With each cut, the soft texture of the stead buns and the slight "thud" sound accompanied him; before long, the stead buns turned into uniformly sized small cubes, neatly arranged on the board.

He also cut the ham and carrots into cubes similar in size to the stead buns.

By now, the water in the pot started bubbling, steam rising...

Seeing the water boil, he poured the peas into the pot to blanch.

The peas tumbled in the hot water, quickly becoming a vivid green.

Seeing that the peas were cooked, he scooped them out, setting them aside for later use.

He brought over several eggs, gently cracking them, allowing the golden yolk to flow into the bowl like a mini waterfall, gradually spreading out.

He added so salt and cumin powder for flavor.

Picking up chopsticks, he gently stirred, the egg liquid swirling and blending under the motion until it beca smooth and even.

Next, he put the frying pan on the stove, pouring so oil in.

With the fire turned on...

The frying pan gradually ward under the licking flas, the oil slowly heating up.

When the oil temperature was just right, he placed the stead bun cubes in.

The stead bun cubes made a "sizzle" sound in the oil, gradually turning golden brown and crispy, emitting a tempting aroma.

Once one side was golden, he flipped them to cook the other side until both sides were golden and crispy.

Once the stead bun cubes were nearly done, he pushed them to the side, adding peas, carrot cubes, and ham cubes to the other side to lightly sauté.

Then, he mixed the ingredients together, stirring them to let the flavors ld, enhancing the aroma.

After cooking...

He spread the ingredients flat in the bottom of the pan, then evenly poured the mixed egg liquid on top, forming a golden layer of pancake.

He covered the pan with a lid, cooking slowly on low heat.

As the surface began to set, he sprinkled so black sesa seeds, covered the pan again, continuing to cook.

Before long...

The egg liquid solidified completely, the entire Mixed Stead Bun and Egg Pancake turned golden and radiant, the aroma filling the air, looking irresistibly tempting...
