41: Chapter 41 Pretentious 41: Chapter 41 Pretentious Julia Land had previously deleted Noah Quarter’s phone number.

So now, the incoming call on her phone displayed a string of 11 digits.

But she knew it was Noah Quarter’s number.

Julia Land glanced at Jas Thompson’s smile.

Judging from his expression, he seed to know it was Noah’s number too.

“Go ahead, take it.

Don’t worry about making jealous.”

“…”

This man really thought too much.

It wasn’t that she was afraid of making him jealous; she was afraid of the smirking smile that appeared on his face.

It was unsettling.

Julia Land pressed the answer button and turned on the speakerphone, feeling confident inside.

“Julia Land.”

Noah’s voice sounded groggy.

He said, “My head hurts.”

Julia Land’s beautiful face darkened.

“Are you sick?

If your head hurts, see a doctor.”

She hung up the phone.

Previously, after social engagents, Noah would sotis co ho with a headache.

Back then, Julia would feed him a headache pill and give him a head massage.

Jas Thompson’s gaze was sharp, cutting into Julia as he chuckled and raised his hand to rub his temple, “Julia Land, my head hurts.”

“…”

Contrived.

Julia Land choked, she got up and sat on the man’s abdon.

“Lie down, I’ll massage you!”

Doctor Thompson enjoyed a few monts of the massage service.

He gripped her waist, lifted her up, and then sat up himself.

There were eye masks on the bedside table.

He reached for two patches, read the instructions, then checked the ingredients.

Jas Thompson lifted his chin slightly, “Go lie down, you’ve cried until you’re ugly, and your eyes are a bit scary.”

He was not around earlier when Julia planned to use the eye mask herself.

She lay down, watching him, as it was quite simple and she wasn’t worried he’d do it wrong.

Jas Thompson brushed her forehead hair aside, tore open an eye mask and applied it to her eyes.

Julia Land watched his sharp chin; when he wasn’t smiling, he actually looked rather cold.

His nose was very prominent.

“Am I handso?

Staring at like that.” Doctor Thompson smiled.

He had applied eye masks over both her eyes, and she could no longer see anything.

Jas Thompson tossed the eye mask packaging into the trash can and sat back beside Julia.

The room quieted down.

Julia Land couldn’t hear any sound from him.

She was a bit anxious and licked her lips, “Jas Thompson?”

“Hmm?”

“What are you doing?”

“I’m thinking about doing you.”

Julia Land instantly shut her mouth.

Jas Thompson gave a muffled chuckle.

“What’s there to be afraid of?

Aren’t you also enjoying it?”

Julia didn’t want to discuss such a pointless issue with him.

The bizarre call from Noah Quarter didn’t stir any emotions in Julia’s heart anymore.

anwhile, at the Imperial View Gardens.

Arabella Shaw stood on the stairs with a gloomy expression.

Noah Quarter, heavily exhausted from activities and drinking, was sent ho by Alexander Strong and lay on the sofa, instinctively calling Julia while still drunk.

**

The next morning, when Julia woke up, she moved the hand from her waist away and reached out to grab her nightgown.

Just as her hand touched the nightgown, it was pressed back down by the man.

It was uncontrollable.

Her fingers clenched the bedsheet.

Her throat was already hoarse.

When he finally stopped, Julia was already exhausted.

She felt truly tired.

Jas Thompson had been very restrained previously, but starting last night, he seed to have let go.

After so ti, he held her and took another bath.

This ti, Julia insisted on putting on clothes, not wanting to stay in the bedroom.

When she dressed, she could only use one hand, and seeing her struggle, Jas Thompson quickly helped her.

He carried her horizontally and walked to the living room.

Julia lay on the sofa, watching television.

Jas Thompson went to wash the wet bed sheets.

As she sat in the living room, she heard him on the phone with Assistant Winters, asking soone to bring over so bed sheets.

Julia Land had to force herself to keep a thick skin when she heard such things that one could simply go buy themselves…

Jas Thompson had soone send his luggage over again.

This ti Julia spoke up, her voice husky, “Wait, why are you bringing your luggage over?”

Jas paused the person on the other end of the phone and walked from the balcony into the living room, “Boyfriends and girlfriends should of course live together.”

His statent seed so obvious.

Julia, “?”

Who decided that?

Jas wasn’t going to pamper her; they were boyfriends and girlfriends now.

He didn’t want to live apart.

His innate dominance showed at this mont.

Assistant Winters, eavesdropping on the conversation over the phone, thought to himself, “…”

Jas hung up, went to the kitchen, found a jar of honey, and made a cup of honey water for Julia to soothe her throat.

He brought out the honey water when Julia happened to be bending down to pick up a pen from the floor.

Bending down, her neck bent too.

The hickeys on her neck were quite visible.

They were his handiwork.

Jas touched the spot with a finger, and Julia shrank her neck back, “What are you doing?”

He hadn’t told her about the hickeys.

He handed her the honey water, his voice deep, “Drink more honey water.”

The doorbell rang.

Standing outside was Violet, holding vegetables intended for cooking lunch, surprised to see a man opening the door.

“?”

Which man is this?

Jas smiled, “You must be Little Violet, Julia’s brother.

Co in.”

The subtle contest between n, a fight without knives.

Violet sized up Jas.

This man had a good appearance, an aura of authority emanated from him, but it was restrained.

Violet entered the house with the vegetables, fetched his slippers from the shoe cabinet, and calmly changed his shoes.

Jas’s slippers didn’t quite fit him.

The first round of the n’s subtle contest, a draw.

Violet hoped Julia wouldn’t get hurt by another man again, “This gentleman?”

“Last na Thompson, Jas Thompson.”

Jas shook hands with Violet.

“Little Violet, what are we having for lunch?”

Julia saw they had introduced themselves to each other, so there was no need for her to make introductions again.

“Tomato beef noodles.”

Violet signaled Julia to co to the kitchen; he had sothing to ask.

Jas gracefully didn’t eavesdrop; he went to change his clothes, preparing to go to work as he had clinical hours in the afternoon.

Violet took out tomatoes to wash, “Who is he?”

“My new boyfriend,” Julia replied, picking up a tomato he had washed and eating it.

“Why is your voice so hoarse?

Are you sick?” Violet asked upon hearing her voice.

Julia sucked on the tomato and coughed softly, “Probably just getting a cold, don’t worry, I’ve taken dicine.”

Violet glanced at her, “Drink more water.”

“What does he do?

What’s his family background?”

Violet was truly worrying like a mother.

“He’s a doctor.

About his family, very wealthy, he’s Sophia’s cousin.”

Julia hesitated a bit with this response, the relationship between Sophia and Jas was complicated and best left unntioned for now.

“Don’t worry, I’m not thinking about marriage this ti.”

Julia said this just as Jas’s tall figure appeared in the kitchen.

The man glanced indifferently at Julia, and said lazily, “I’m off to work.”

Julia swallowed her tomato, “Okay, take care.”

But Jas still stood in the doorway of the kitchen, not leaving.

Julia wondered, “Is there sothing else?”

Jas stepped into the kitchen, pressed her head down, and gave her a deep kiss.

Violet, “…” Did he think he was invisible?

He silently turned his head away, not looking.

Jas released Julia, and calmly walked away.

Julia was embarrassed.

She heard the door close, Jas had left.

Violet scoffed.

Julia gave a forced laugh.

Outside, Jas sent Julia a ssage: [Your man needs a pair of proper slippers]

Ding dong.

ssage tone.

Jas lazily looked at the ssage from Julia.

Julia: [When your assistant goes to buy bedsheets, maybe he could buy so slippers too.]
