"Ready the Fifth Battalion for clean-up."

With those words, she snapped her fingers, her body elentalizing into pure light as she vanished from the room.

In monts, she was already soaring above the demon army division she had been ordered to eliminate.

Her obsidian eyes coldly swept over the camp before she raised her right hand, gathering ambient magic power.

Naturally, the demons sensed this.

The High-Ranked demons noticed first and imdiately sprang to alert, thinking the angels had launched a surprise attack.

But as they expanded their auras to scan the area and assess the threat, they all ca to the sa staggering realisation.

The frightening mass of magic power they sensed was coming from just one person.

Dozens of concentric magic circles blood in the sky, casting a golden radiance that bathed the world below.

Then, a voice echoed across the land.

[Tier 6 Light Magic: Disintegration.]

Descending like heavenly judgnt, dozens of beams of disintegrating light struck from above, tearing through all defensive barriers and annihilating hundreds of demons the mont they hit the ground.

Explosions erupted throughout the area, waves of power sweeping across the land and killing dozens of demons every second.

The High-Ranked Demons, unhard by the blasts, erged from the smoke and charged at her in fury.

As they closed in, she lowered her hand, took a deep breath, and manifested two pairs of wings of light behind her. From her palms, two spears of golden light ford, and her circular obsidian pupils transford into a three-pointed star shape.

At the sight of this transformation, the High-Ranked demons froze in shock and recognition.

One of them spat a curse, gathering his demonic energy to unleash his most powerful attack.

"Die, you fucking blo—!"

[Light. Exterminate.]

She swung one of her spears in a wide, sweeping arc, the blade trailing a brilliant streak of light that engulfed the demon before he could finish speaking.

The radiant energy consud him in an instant, followed by a thunderous explosion that shook the sky.

Without hesitation, she hurled the shorter spear, sending it piercing through the blast and right through the demon’s head, killing him instantly.

Snapping her fingers, she detonated the spear and the corpse it was embedded in, and the blast wave tore through the sky, killing another High-Rank demon nearby.

Then she dove into the clouds of smoke and flas, proceeding to rcilessly slaughter the High-Ranked demons.

While she clashed with the High-Ranks, beams of disintegrating light continued to rain from above, cutting down the rest of the demon forces.

The sheer force of her battle with the High-Rank demons split the earth apart, magma bubbling up from the fissures. By the ti she finished, the entire demon division had been reduced to corpses, many already sinking into the molten ground.

At that mont, she sensed magic power approaching and turned her gaze towards the approaching battalion of angels. They arrived just in ti to see her standing atop the lifeless bodies of three High-Rank demons.

Their expressions contorted, and though they were supposed to be allies, uneasy looks filled their eyes.

Unbothered, she pulled her spears of light free from the demon corpses, scanning the battlefield one final ti to ensure nothing remained alive.

Then, the Commander of the arriving battalion, a female angel with shoulder-length brown hair and eyes to match, wearing the sa white uniform with identical stars on the shoulder pads, flew forward and spoke.

"As thorough as ever, aren’t you? Sairose."

In silence, the Brigadier General—Sairose—dismissed her wings of light, her obsidian eyes transforming back to their normal shape as she turned to face the Battalion Commander and replied.

"Of course."

She smiled brightly, but that smile didn’t reach her eyes.

"All demons must be exterminated."

She stepped forward, her heel crushing the head of a fallen High-Rank demon with a sickening crunch as she continued.

"Those hell spawns are the reason I was separated from my dear Ren, after all."

Hearing this, the Battalion Commander gave a practised nod, one that spoke of familiarity with this routine.

"Ah, yes. Your dear Re—"

She stopped mid-sentence, freezing as Sairose’s gaze turned into a glare. Sighing softly, the Commander corrected herself.

"Ahem, Xaren."

Instantly, Sairose’s bright smile returned, as if the chill in her gaze had never existed.

"Never ceases to amaze how he’s your only motivation for rising through the ranks.

Then again, you are doing the galaxy a favour by eliminating demons, so I suppose it all balances out."

Without replying, Sairose floated into the air, casting a glance at the assembled Battalion, and several of the angels involuntarily flinched under her gaze.

The Commander noticed, and her brows twitched in irritation as she turned to glare at her soldiers.

’Why the hell are you purebloods scared of a re artificial halfling?! Tsk!’

Masking her irritation behind a composed expression, the Battalion Commander turned back to Sairose.

"Good work. Lieutenant General Remliel would be proud."

"She has no reason to. I’m simply doing what is expected of ," Sairose responded.

"All in line with the Oaths we swore the day we beca Generals: To eliminate every demon there is.

The universe has no need for those hell spawns, after all."

With that, she flew past the Commander, continuing the rest of her thoughts silently.

’Not like you filthy angels are any better.

You think I don’t know you angels were the ones who chose to use my ho world as a battleground and lured the demons there, forced the war onto us, and ripped Ren away from ?’

The faint red tint in the whites of Sairose’s eyes began to spread, and she glanced at the dull and faded mark on the back of her palm.

A simple mark of the letter ’X’.

Once, it had shone brightly. That glow was the only thing that kept her moving forward, and the sole reason she kept fighting in the aningless wars of this universe.

But seventeen years ago, on the day that mark lost its light, she broke.

It took ti... and the help of a few individuals... to piece herself back together.

And she recovered with a new purpose.

’I’ll track down every last angel and demon who had a hand in that war on our world... and reduce them all to dust.

Then, I’ll join you... wherever you are, my dear...’
