"What kind of logic is that? I'm seriously having trouble understanding you!"
Black Wuchang genuinely had no idea what the hell he was up to, but he was enjoying the beatdown, so he kept whipping Di Jun. Di Jun clenched his teeth as radiant beams of light began emanating from his soul.
After taking the full set of eighty-one lashes, Di Jun's soul had been tempered to a remarkable level of resilience.
"That's enough, Di Jun. You can fight back now!"
"Yes!"
But right now, he didn't even have a physical body. Even if he wanted to resist, it'd be pointless. However, Ye Tian suddenly reached out his hand—and in that instant, Di Jun's soul was forcibly pulled back into his body.
"What? That's impossible!"
Both Black and White Wuchang froze. How could his soul and body reunite like that? He was already on the Book of Life and Death, and his soul had already left his body. By all logic, there should be no way for him to return.
"Nothing's impossible. Di Jun, go ahead and use your strength to deal with them. These two clowns—Black and White Wuchang—really thought a re Book of Life and Death could keep in check?"
"This—"
Boom!
At that mont, Black Wuchang saw a blur of darkness sweep past him—it was Di Jun!
He was fast. With a punch straight to the face, Black Wuchang didn't even have ti to react before he was sent flying.
"You—how is this possible?"
"Hmph. Even now, you're still acting surprised? Don't bla for showing no rcy. If my soul hadn't returned to my body, I'm sure you wouldn't have shown any either. We had no personal grudge before—but after what you've done, that's no longer the case."
"Fine! If you've got the guts, then bring it on!"
"You're asking for it!"
Di Jun's fist ca crashing down, and with one blow, Black Wuchang was reduced to ash.
"This… Why is my strength so overwhelming?"
Di Jun hadn't expected that single punch to completely obliterate his opponent. He knew his own limits—he'd never been this strong before.
He turned to Ye Tian. "Why was I able to defeat him so easily?"
"Because your strength increased from the tempering just now. That's why you were able to blast him away with one punch."
Now that Black Wuchang had been taken out, White Wuchang was visibly shaken, his face turning even paler.
"Thank you. My strength has grown—and it's all thanks to you!"
"You should be thanking yourself. It's your own will to grow stronger that made it possible."
"So, what now?"
"We keep going, of course."
White Wuchang, now terrified by Di Jun's newfound power, realized staying would only an death. He imdiately dove underground in a desperate attempt to flee. If he couldn't win, running was the only option.
Watching him escape, Di Jun asked, "So what do we do now?"
"Chase him, obviously. Black and White Wuchang wouldn't have dared do this on their own. They had to be acting under orders from the King of Hell. It's ti to go settle this with him."
"Yeah, you're right. Let's head to the Underworld!"
Before long, they arrived at the gates of the Underworld. Ye Tian turned to Di Jun and smiled. "You've powered up. Think of this as another training opportunity."
The ghost soldiers in the Underworld spotted them right away, and the one leading them shouted, "Who dares cause trouble here? Surrender imdiately!"
Ye Tian looked over at Di Jun. "These ghost soldiers are all yours—go ahead and use them to sharpen your skills."
More ghost soldiers poured in, rushing toward them from every direction. Their numbers were growing fast, but Di Jun wasn't fazed at all—he charged in without hesitation.
Boom!
Each punch landed with solid impact. Blow after blow, Di Jun knocked them all flat.
But more ghost soldiers kept arriving—there were just too many. Di Jun couldn't possibly take them all on alone. Even so, Ye Tian still made no move to intervene.
"I can't hold on much longer!"
"Take this!"
Ye Tian tossed over a pill. "Take it—now!"
Di Jun swallowed it on the spot and imdiately felt a surge of power coursing through his body. He'd been on the verge of collapse just monts ago, but now he felt completely revitalized.
"All of you—die!"
Di Jun punched and punched. The ghost soldiers couldn't even put up a fight. One punch, one kill—he tore through them like paper. In the end, all they could do was retreat in fear. After all, no one wanted to die.
"Anyone else not afraid to die? Co on—step up!"
At this point, Di Jun wasn't worried at all. His strength had grown absurdly powerful—like it would never run out, no matter how hard he fought.
"Co on! Anyone else ready to die?"
Seeing the situation, none of the surrounding ghost soldiers dared make another move. They all knew they were no match for Di Jun—charging forward would only an death.
Their battle finally caught the attention of the King of Hell.
"Who dares stir up trouble in my Underworld!?"
The King of Hell rushed to the scene. When he saw Ye Tian and Di Jun, his expression turned grim. He hadn't expected them to fight their way this far.
"What's going on here?"
"Reporting to the King of Hell! Ye Tian and Di Jun's lifespans have reached their end, but they're trying to resist fate and extend their ti. Now they've even attacked our ghost soldiers!"
When he heard White Wuchang's report, the King of Hell said, "What? How outrageous!"
"Also, Black Wuchang's been seriously injured. He'll need a long ti to recover!"
Just then, Black Wuchang finally dragged himself to the scene. Although he'd been obliterated earlier, he was technically a spirit enforcer of the Underworld—so dying wasn't that simple. Still, it'd take him a while to fully recover.
"Ye Tian, I demand an explanation for this, or this matter won't be over!"
Ye Tian sneered. You're accusing first? Acting like the victim? Saying my lifespan is up? Don't I know better than anyone how much ti I've got left?
