Noir's heartbeat slowed, steady and unshaken, as he took slow steps toward the lifeless body. Relief settled in his chest—no, sothing deeper. Satisfaction.

His fingers twitched. Then, his hand twisted. Bones cracked. Flesh warped. What was once his palm stretched and split apart into sothing monstrous. Noir's hand twisted, flesh warping into sothing that shouldn't exist.

His fingers stretched and split apart, forming a gaping maw—its dark red gums lined with jagged, uneven teeth. A thick, slick tongue slid between them, saliva dripping onto the floor.

The thing twitched heavily, almost as if it had a will of its own. Then, with a sudden movent, it snapped forward. Teeth sank deep into the man's skin. A sickening crunch filled the silence, horrifying.

Flesh gave way to teeth, blood splattering as the monstrous limb ripped through the corpse. The spine-chilling sound of wet, greedy chewing echoed in the room. It moved fast, relentless, like a creature that had been starved for perhaps a bit too long.

Noir couldn't figure whether it was the demon-like-mouth enjoying the feast or whether it was him, however the expression on his face clearly spoke that he was indeed enjoying the feast. His golden eyes glead so brightly that everything else seed dark in comparison.

And in monts, nothing remained except for scattered flecks of blood, sinking into the cold stone floor.

Aren was terrified by the scene that unfolded before his eyes, the only reason as to why he hadn't run away was probably because he was a hybrid and knew that even if things went extrely wrong, he could still escape alive.

As Noir slowly got up and looked towards Aren, his hand slowly yet horrifyingly turning back to normal, "Don't worry, he was dead already and well..." he smiled faintly, "I kind of didn't have control over it."

While Aren had lots of questions to ask, he didn't. Because he knew that the less questions he asked the better it was for him and his sister. He averted his gaze, fixing his eyes on a distant corner of the room as if the bloodstains weren't there.

"Everything's fine now? My lord." Aren bowed.

Noir shot a glance at his right-hand and spoke with a joyful voice, "Yeah, I got what I wanted."

Both of them took a carriage and were on their way to the mansion,

'I don't know what would have happened, had I not controlled myself early..'

Truth be told, Noir was about to have a feast on Aren after he was done with the dead body but he bit his tongue.. Well the one in his mouth, and managed to sohow turn his hand back to normal.

'My tongue still hurts. Next ti I need to make sure it's only and the food.'

Noir looked at his right-hand, "It's useful yet cos with a heavy price."

'The only reason I took the 'blessing' was because whatever it consud, it turned it into Noctis.'

'While 'Understanding' evil acts, allows one to move closer to 'Neroth' and thus gain more 'Noctis', there were indeed other ways to gain it too and 'The Demon's Blessing' was one of them. '

'Of course using it requires Noctis too, but 'Noir' has already progressed enough on the path to use an ability as this, easily.'

...

The carriage soon reached the mansion, by now the sun had already set and Noir was feeling-

"Hungry." Noir spoke, his voice calm.

Aren shot him a glance.

"Uhh, no, I just need so apple pies." Noir chuckled as both of them entered the mansion.

As soon as Noir arrived, the servants felt a chill down their spines and fear engulfed them, almost as if they were sheeps who were about to be hunted by a wolf- no, it was more as if they were being 'served' to be eaten.

'So people who are very weak can feel the bloodlust. Not surprised as I 'really' want to eat all of them right now.'

Noir went to his room and was waiting for food to arrive.

The original Noir didn't want to feast in the dining hall that was ant for the whole family, so he had his lunch, dinner, breakfast all brought to his room.

'It would be awkward after all. Good for though.'

A servant rolled in a cart, the aroma of freshly cooked at filling the room. The food looked good—probably tasted even better—carefully arranged on fine plates like so grand display. Another chair was brought in for Noir, even though there was already one in the room. Wasteful? Absolutely. But that's just how nobles did things.

Once the servant left, Noir picked up his fork and spoon, eating at a leisurely pace. His manner was neither refined nor ravenous—just relaxed, like a man enjoying a quiet al in his own ho.

'Delicious, as expected from a noble.'

It didn't take long for him to finish all the food that was served to him, after so ti the servant ca back to retrieve the table and found that all the food had been eaten with no leftovers.

The servant thought, 'Looks like the young lord was really tired today, I wonder what he did today?'

...

Soon it was night and Noir had gotten enough rest to finally attempt the summoning of Nexus.

'I just need to persuade 'him' properly.'

Noir pulled the drawer open, took out the book and flipped the pages till he reached page 698, he then traced out the letters that ford the spell.

'Doing it for the second ti makes it feel easier than the first.'

He stood up and aligned himself along the wall and chanted the spell, his voice like a whisper, "Par les fils, j'invoque Nexus"

The whole room went silent and- "Nothing happened."

He imdiately looked around but found no differences in the room, it was the sa and everything was at their respective places.

"Did I make a mistake? But I even rechecked it."

Noir moved towards the table in order to check the spell but before he could reach the book-

"Shi~" his voice beca unclear, vision blurred and at last his eyes closed themselves.

Darkness engulfed him and when his eyelids lifted... It was completely blank and silent.

'Is this the result of making a mistake? Or perhaps this is how it goes?'

Coming up with certain possibilities was the only thing he could do in his position.

All he could see was darkness until silver threads with subtle glow started to weave themselves into what seed like a floor, the threads stretched toward him, coiling around his legs and pulling him down. Only then did he realize–gravity didn't exist here.

Threads coiled around his legs, anchoring him. A restraint? A gesture of control? No–simply a threaded grasp, preventing him from floating aimlessly.

'I am its only way to get unsealed, so killing is the last thing it would do.'

However, Noir understood its actions well—after all, he was a transmigrator who knew exactly what to do, the best way to gain Nexus' favour was to-

'Treat him with utmost respect while also appearing as an equal.'

"Nexus, Ryu of Threads, I, Noir Ravenlock, call upon you." Noir bowed his head and spoke, his expression calm and unwavering almost as if it were his poker face.

A voice erged from the darkness, heavy and laced with malice.

"What might be your reason for doing so?"

The silence that followed stretched, thick and expectant. Noir t the darkness with a faint smirk, golden eyes gleaming.

"The blessing of threads. I need it."
