The thick scent of blood nearly turning into liquid surged through the nasal cavity. The helt's built-in air filtration system had long since been damaged in the battle, but the warrior Spade had already ignored the discomfort coming from his nose. He was wholly focused, entirely dedicated to slaughtering the endless stream of serpent-like alien invaders before him.
As an official mber of the Dragon Lion's Tooth Battle Group, Spade had long realized his boyhood dreams. He had acquired all the material and emotional needs he had as a youth. Now, he had just one life goal.
To fight for the Holy Dragon Emperor!
The world conquered by the battle group had erupted into rebellion once again. Not only that, the rebels had brutally murdered their battle companions and the Governor in charge of administration.
Without a doubt, this was a blatant disregard for the authority of the Holy Dragon Emperor and a trampling of the honor of the battle group. This humiliation had to be washed away with blood.
However, the strength of the rebels was beyond the expectation of the entire Dragon Lion's Tooth Battle Group. The mont the legion's floating layer entered the world, the fierce attack from the alien race subrged the Floating City.
Spade had forgotten when the outer defenses of the battle group's Floating City were shattered. Such matters were no longer important now. What mattered was how he could crush more serpent-n.
The serpent-n were like Demons from the Abyss, virtually endless. Kill one group, and a second would charge forward. These continuously erging serpent-n assaulted the steel barrier ford by him and his battle group brothers.
This was an incredibly grueling blood battle. Spade had forgotten everything, his eyes seeing only the enemy before him. In the endless slaughter, the battle group brothers who once seed as indomitable as mountains fell one by one under the onslaught of the serpent tide.
Even the enhanced Dragon-n equipped with Magic-guided Kinetic Armor, although possessing unrivaled combat power on the battlefield that surpassed equivalent Transcendents, were not invincible. They too would be injured, bleed, feel fatigue; their strength was not infinite.
Therefore, on a battlefield with no gaps for respite, even the most elite Champion Warriors would fall.
But even though his fighting brothers around him were becoming fewer, Spade felt not even a trace of fear. Even as he foresaw his own death, no warrior feared death, especially when bravely falling on the battlefield.
For a warrior, this was the highest honor, and it was the sa for Dragon-n. The Holy Dragon Emperor's Heroic Spirit Hall would open its doors to them, and they would receive eternal life within.
However, Dragon-n would never seek a aningless death. Any warrior felt the greatest honor in killing more enemies on the battlefield—this was their rit and glory.
Thus, Spade, having cast aside thoughts of life and death, contemplated how to kill more of the aliens daring to defy the Holy Dragon Emperor's might before his life's end.
Roar~
Standing on a mountain of corpses, treading through the mire of flesh and blood, Spade, gripping his already broken Great Sword, looked up sharply to see a sinuous shadow in the sky. Anger welled up, but before the warrior could do anything,
Boom!
A radiant light descended from the sky, piercing through the Floating City in an instant. He felt the wailing coming from the Floating City.
The Floating Fortress was plumting, yet even so, the serpent-n continuously erging from the rifts in ti and space did not cease their assault. They climbed relentlessly from the skies and the earth, from every possible crevice, attacking the Dragon-man warriors still swinging their swords.
"Barbarians! Face judgnt!"
Even Spade, already prepared to embrace death, could not help but rage when hearing the cries of the city beneath his feet. He could accept his own death, but he would never accept the downfall of his battle group in this war.
But with the destruction of the Floating City, everything seed a foregone conclusion. Without the Strategic-level Floating City, how could the battle group stand in the Void, let alone respond to the grand expedition launched by the Holy Dragon Emperor?
Without the Strategic-level Floating City, even the finest battle group could only retreat to the second line, unqualified to enter the front line of the battlefield.
However, emotions like anger held no aning on the battlefield. Spade, in his rage, lost his cool judgnt, unable to make the most accurate decisions.
Although the serpent-n that fell under his sword died in increasingly grueso ways, his defense still opened gaps, and he was torn by several serpent-n.
"I must not die like this..."
Though he could no longer recall how many serpent-n he had slain, Spade was certain his kill count was the highest in the company, for his surroundings showed no sign of any surviving battle brothers—it seed only he had lived to the end.
If the legion's structure remained, he should have earned the title of Champion Warrior after the war, winning higher distinctions and leading more brothers into even more brutal battlefields.
Alas, he had no more chances. The shadow of death had already enveloped him. Although the light of the Heroic Spirit Hall already shimred upon him, Spade felt profound dissatisfaction, believing he had not slain enough, that he could do better.
Ang~
With a long chant echoing from the Sun across the heavens and the earth, a blazing warmth burst forth, instantly flooding his body. The chill heralding imminent death was swept away, and the nearly collapsed, exhausted Spade ignited, filled with an unprecedented surge of power.
