The gentle breeze caressed their faces, carrying with it a warm embrace and a rich floral fragrance that spread with the wind. It diluted the aura of war and smoke surrounding the Angel and the Dragon Clan’s son, as if trying to disperse the bloodthirsty aura ford after years of battles.
But when the battle boots stepped down, crushing the dancing light spirits on the Holy Crystal Stone Plate, the flamboyant crimson sea of flowers on either side of the path imdiately bowed down. The spiritual creatures dancing amidst the flowers were so frightened they trembled, hiding behind petals and stems, not daring to show their heads.
This scene seed as though a Demon King intent on destroying the world had intruded into a harmonious abode of a holy spirit. Wherever his footsteps reached, harmony vanished, peace was erased, and all beauty would be crushed.
"Mother!"
However, when the Demon King, full of a bloodthirsty aura, arrived before the owner of the Fla Flower Sea, he respectfully bowed his head and called out that form of address.
Imdiately, clear spring water gushed out from the center of the flower sea, the current flowed gently, and when the droplets splashed onto the Holy Crystal path, light spirits soared again, shining and dancing. The little elves, who had been terrified by the intruder, beca lively once more.
"Iliad, my child!"
Without armor nor sword, dressed in a pure white robe, the Great Angel Leader looked at the familiar yet extraordinarily distant progeny before them. Their expression was briefly absent-minded, then followed by a sigh,
"How long has it been since we last t?"
"The last ti we t was twenty-six years ago, Mother."
Iliad’s eyes held a hint of guilt, but deep within them remained steadfast.
Compared to his mother, the situation of his father was much too difficult; as a progeny, if he didn’t help his father, whom else could he rely on?
If his father was in trouble, as a progeny, rely because he feared danger, feared death, ignoring it to remain safe and sound, it contradicted the education he received and went against his principles of conducting himself.
"That was rely a communication link; I an like now, where I can physically touch you during our eting."
"..."
Upon hearing his mother’s inquiry, Iliad beca montarily absent-minded, beginning to recall what seed to be sothing long ago, as it wasn’t the first ti he defied his mother, rejecting her proposal.
"Did you rember? When was the last ti we t this closely like now?"
"It seems to have been a hundred years ago."
The mories of battles were so vast, occupying most of his current mories and life, Iliad thought for a mont, then replied.
"It has been one hundred and forty-seven years, child!"
Ophelia uttered the precise ti, her heart filled with indescribable emotions.
The weight of herself and Noah in their child’s heart seed self-evident, with no need for debate.
"Has it really been that long?"
Iliad was montarily absent-minded, not expecting so much ti had passed.
"Do you like war very much?"
The Great Angel Leader, with a chest full of pent-up emotions, couldn’t help but ask.
"If you desire war, I can give you endless war. If you need elite warriors, I can give you the best of my Purifying World Holy Word Army, no weaker than your father’s legions."
"Mother, I already have my own legion."
Iliad replied helplessly.
Although he couldn’t squander the True Blood recklessly like his father, he did inherit part of the Ancestral Bloodline. Creating Favored wasn’t difficult for him, and using it as a foundation, he naturally established a direct legion loyal to himself.
"Indeed, you have grown up; you are no longer a child. You certainly should have your own legion. Your father helped you form the Dragon Clan legion, then I should build an Angel legion for you as well."
Ophelia suddenly understood the difference between her and Noah.
"Mother, I..."
"Refusal is not allowed. How can a child of Noah and only have the Dragon Clan’s legion under his command?"
Ophelia’s stance was very firm at this mont, having fully realized that environnt plays a crucial role in shaping personality and worldview.
Despite educating the child for twenty years after birth, once he returned to Noah, he quickly leaned towards Noah, and in the ensuing centuries, unwaveringly chose Noah, refusing her requests.
The environnt of the Material Realm was partly influential, but another reason was the people and Dragons around him, arranged by Noah. These people ford ties binding him, turning into an attachnt he couldn’t sever.
Hence, Ophelia now believed it was necessary to station enough Angels around her child, ideally an entire legion capable of fighting alongside him. Between life and death, the strongest bonds and fetters would be forged.
"I want to select my own warriors!"
As a War Commander, how could Iliad refuse an opportunity to have an elite angel legion under his command, known for their strength worldwide?
"Agreed."
Ophelia didn’t hesitate at all, agreeing imdiately. She feared her child had no requests, not that he had them.
"But after completing the formation of the angel legion, could you replace in a war against the Abyssal invasion?"
"This..."
Iliad furrowed his brow, caught in hesitation. He hadn’t planned to spend much ti during this trip to Heaven, intending to return imdiately after eting his mother.
"This is my war, but during the last battle, I was ambushed by a Balrog Fla Demon Lord and suffered so injuries that haven’t healed yet. If you truly don’t have ti, then forget it."
