Although education at Dragon Academy is free, and every young dragon can attend the lectures by Ancient Dragons, room and board are not free.
The cost of accommodation varies according to the height and richness in resources of the Cloud Island, but even the most luxurious Dragon Nest isn’t expensive. The real expense is food.
Of course, if one only wants to maintain basic survival and support the growth of their dragon body, the cost is not high. But if one desires food that is both delicious and nutritious, along with extra experiences, the cost becos much higher.
Blue Crystal Grass is a relatively cost-effective food found by two young Silver Dragons. It contains spiritual energy and style, offering more than the basic als available to ordinary Dragon Species.
As for the Grass Fruit produced by these Spirit Grasses, their price is tenfold, completely beyond the purchasing power of young dragons.
After all, although the tallic Dragon Race fulfills its responsibility of raising their young, it does not an they will spoil their offspring, letting them squander their property at will.
Therefore, most young dragons at Dragon Academy only have the most basic accommodations and als. Only a small number of dragons, favored by their parents, receive extra pocket money to buy better food and live in nicer dormitories.
The two young Silver Dragons in front of us are among these few, although today, they also learned the lesson that there is always soone better, and more privileged, than them.
"Brother, I envy her so much."
"What are you envious of?"
Murphy was puzzled.
"Her parents love her so much, she looks so happy."
i Lin’s shimring dark silver dragon eyes sparkled.
"That only ans her parents are very wealthy."
"Isn’t wealth equivalent to happiness?"
"That’s indeed true."
Murphy sighed.
"Co on, brother, let’s go make friends with her."
"It’s very impolite to interrupt soone while they’re eating."
Murphy reminded, but his sister was already wagging her little tail and approached, so the Silver Dragon, as an elder brother, sighed and followed.
"Hi, are you a new student? I’m i Lin, and this is my brother, Murphy. We’re students from the first and second-grade pre-school division, how about you?"
Scarlett, swinging her little legs while tasting the delicious food, looked at the two Silver Dragons introducing themselves and imdiately narrowed her eyes with a smile.
"I’m Scadino, a student who just enrolled today."
"Enrolled today, that ans you’re in the first grade. According to the rules, you should call us senior and senior sister, but our age difference isn’t big, so you can also call us by our nas."
i Lin spoke naturally and familiarly.
"Hello senior and senior sister!"
Scadino, looking at the two dragons maintaining their dragon forms without mastering the Transformation Technique, greeted them very politely.
"You don’t need to call senior. I haven’t even mastered the Transformation Technique yet."
Unlike his sister, who was very cheerful, Murphy was a bit embarrassed. He quickly moved aside, knowing that for Silver Dragons, the younger one masters the Transformation Technique, the greater the indication of their talent.
He and his sister hadn’t mastered the Transformation Technique yet, so having a dragon that could skillfully transform into a human form call him senior was sothing he couldn’t bear.
"Do you need to master the Transformation Technique?"
Scadino flapped her big eyes, curiously asking.
"Why wouldn’t you need to? Were you born knowing it?"
i Lin instinctively asked in return.
"Yes."
"..."
The dragon siblings fell silent, now realizing what kind of genius they were facing—born with the ability to transform, which is the highest level of genius among the Silver Dragon clan. No wonder the other had such good treatnt.
"Have you eaten? If not, do you want to join ?"
Scadilo, in a particularly happy mood, extended the invitation.
"It’s not too appro..."
"Yes, yes!"
Before Murphy could refuse, i Lin imdiately agreed.
Thus, the three dragons naturally gathered around a table. Although one dragon wanted to decline, in the end, he couldn’t resist Scadino’s warm invitation and the allure of food.
Unfortunately, the two little dragons didn’t know that every blessing of fate has secretly been priced. This would be the most delicious al they enjoyed since enrolling, at a significant cost to them.
"Is there only one class in the afternoon?"
The three little dragons chatted while eating. As a newly enrolled student, Scadino naturally inquired about the academy’s teaching situation.
"Yes, one class of spell theory in the afternoon that lasts three Magic Hours, very boring."
"Don’t say that, i Lin, it’s very rude of you. That course is personally taught by an Ancient Dragon."
Murphy reprimanded his sister.
"But it’s really boring, isn’t it?"
The young Silver Dragon nonchalantly said, then winked at Scadino,
"So, Scadino, if you find the class content too boring, just lie down and sleep like I do. As long as you don’t make any noise, the Ancient Dragon won’t mind."
"Isn’t that inappropriate?"
Scadino asked in surprise, widening her eyes.
"It’s fine, everyone does it."
"Doesn’t anyone manage it?"
"No."
"It’s way too relaxed."
"The academy is like this; I think it’s already very strict. We have to attend classes for ten days a month."
i Lin chewed, allowing her bulging cheeks to flatten a bit.
"Only ten days of classes a month? How many classes a day?"
"Two, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. It’s already quite a lot."
"But I saw the academy’s schedule says twenty-two days of classes a month."
"That’s the academy’s schedule just for reference. The actual schedule depends on the Ancient Dragons, and I think this schedule is more suitable for our Dragon Clan. It could be more relaxed if possible."
i Lin sighed without a care in the world, not noticing the thoughtful look in the eyes of the human girl across from her.
"It’s already very relaxed."
"I think we dragons are better off just sleeping, why co to the academy to attend classes? Learning is exhausting and tiring. Ugh, I really want to go ho, but my parents don’t agree."
"This is to learn knowledge beyond inheritance and beco a stronger dragon than those of the sa age."
Murphy answered seriously.
"What have you learned? After so many years of classes, how are you better than ?"
i Lin said dismissively.
"That’s because we’re still young, learning theoretical knowledge now and not yet into practice."
Murphy was a bit embarrassed but quickly found a reason. However, his sister didn’t care at all, and this scene was witnessed by Scadino.
Hence, on the third day of Scadino’s enrollnt, an announcent signed by Holy Dragon Noah, targeted at all faculty and students of Dragon Academy, swept through the Cloud Sea Secret Realm like a Storm.
In this announcent, Holy Dragon Noah, in a very stern tone, condemned the extrely irresponsible teaching attitude of the Ancient Dragon faculty and criticized them for their lack of concern for students and lack of contract spirit, listing eleven offenses in total.
At the end of the announcent, the Holy Dragon Noah, as the academy principal, directly confiscated the salaries of all Ancient Dragon lecturers, with the least affected losing half, while the top three were fired and had all their salaries taken away.
For most young dragons in the academy, this news stirred their Dragon Hearts, but it seed unrelated to them. Furthermore, it seed that with fewer teachers, their classes might be reduced accordingly.
However, a small number of dragons keenly noticed an unremarkable paragraph in the announcent, where Holy Dragon Noah, as the principal, declared that he would personally arrange the academy’s study plan and tasks for the near future, to strictly rectify the academy’s slack and negligent practices.
