All the core positions in the Great Graveyard are tightly held; only when soone leaves does a vacancy appear. As an outsider, even with his outstanding contributions, he is still excluded.
Even if he made one of the grand dukes his mistress, it still wasn’t enough to let him cross that threshold, because no undead wishes to add another mber to divide their authority further.
As for waiting for those grand figures to relinquish their positions, he shouldn’t even dream of it. How could a living person outlast the undead? Although they are not truly immortal, surviving a thousand or eight hundred years would be easy for them.
Thus, faced with challenges he couldn’t resolve independently, Wayne, without troubling himself for too long, went directly to Holy Dragon Noah. Since they wanted him to continue infiltrating and even to advance, they had to help him deal with troubles outside.
"What kind of assistance do you want from ?"
"Please eliminate these undead, leaving them no chance to resurrect."
"?"
Noah maintained his silence for a good half-hour,
"Should I cleanse the entire Great Graveyard then? And let you rightfully take over, claiming the title of the second-generation Immortal King?"
"If you can do that, it would indeed make things much easier for ."
"You’re certainly dreaming big."
Though the Immortal King of the Great Graveyard was severely injured by his angelic father-in-law, and his close aide, the Angel of Death, was also purified and taken away, the power left behind by the Great Graveyard is still formidable.
For the Undead Kingdom that descended from the heavens, the biggest issue now is the lack of a unified voice, leading to chaotic decision-making among the leadership.
"Since you know which undead in the Great Graveyard are targeting you, be more vigilant in the future and gather intelligence related to them. I will coordinate with you from the outside to gradually weaken and attack them."
"How do you plan to coordinate with ?"
Wayne’s eyes revealed an unusual expression.
"Naturally, by selling the intelligence you painstakingly gathered through my special channels to the elves. They should have great use for it."
The Elf Court wouldn’t care much about the internal factional struggles within the Great Graveyard; those pointy-eared beings only want to purify and eliminate the skeleton threats advancing south towards their forests.
"Your arrangent is indeed clever!"
Whether it was criticism or praise, Noah paid it no mind, assuming his good grandnephew was singing his praises.
"Oh, and seeing you’re not in the highest spirits, let give you so good news about the bloodline extraction technology, where we’ve made a breakthrough.
Your aunt recently succeeded in the laboratory in transforming a willing adult Tifflin into a human, completely removing his Hell Bloodline, although this also caused him to lose most of his extraordinary powers, rendering him a regular human."
There was regret in Noah’s tone, as this technology seed quite useless in the eyes of rulers, only satisfying those transcendent beings dissatisfied with their own bloodline.
"Can it still succeed if used on infants?"
Upon hearing the shocking news from Noah, Wayne’s composed face couldn’t help but be moved, asking sowhat eagerly.
"There hasn’t been an experint on that yet. Your aunt is resistant to using this technology on infants because it carries a certain life risk, as infants are too fragile."
"My aunt?"
It was at this mont that Wayne noticed this key figure.
"Ah, I seem to have forgotten to introduce her to you. However, she is very familiar with you, just that you are not so familiar with her."
"She is very familiar with ?"
"That’s right. The footage of your first intimate encounter was recorded by her."
"?"
This ti, it was Wayne’s turn for a big question mark to appear above his head.
Because he simply couldn’t fathom what kind of senior relative would secretly record such a personal mont, without his knowledge, undermining ethics to such an extent to do sothing so outrageous.
"Don’t worry, I’ve stored it perfectly. Besides and your aunt, no third party has seen this footage, so rest assured, it won’t leak out."
Noah reassured his silent grandnephew, but in Wayne’s ears, these reassurances sounded more like threats.
"Was her secret observation of solely to shoot such trivial things?"
Wayne’s expression reverted to its stern deanor, colder than even the Polar Glacier.
Anyone who discovered their embarrassing history was recorded by a never-before-seen elder wouldn’t look pleased.
"Of course not. These recordings were incidental; her main purpose was to protect you."
"Protect ?"
"Haven’t you noticed so things went unusually smoothly during the establishnt of your Knight Order? Surely you didn’t think it was just good luck?"
"I’ve never been fortunate."
By now, Wayne was showing no regard for Noah, as he genuinely never felt lucky, except for that nightmarish destiny.
However, despite that, everything he obtained in that hellish dream realm ca from trading his life repeatedly, each death feeling incredibly real, the excruciating pain of being torn and pierced was unforgettable.
"Then maybe you’re not unfortunate enough."
"If I were truly fortunate, I wouldn’t now be in the Blood Clan Grand Duke’s castle, fulfilling her perverse needs and desires!"
Hearing Noah’s sowhat dismissive musings, Wayne responded coldly.
"Ah, the Blood Clan Grand Duke, reduced to your plaything, what are you unsatisfied with?"
"Who is playing whom? I’m not even a Legend yet."
"No need to suppress yourself; you can break through and beco a Legend."
Noah knew the capacity of this grandnephew, that he was already poised for a Legendary breakthrough, yet he never made the attempt.
He had multiple concerns, with progeny being the first. The stronger one gets, the lower the probability of having offspring. Wayne, who desired descendants, naturally didn’t want to advance before having a child born.
Besides, there was another concern: the blessing from Hell. He knew how unreasonable it was for him to have co this far.
Though he suffered greatly, the gain outweighed the costs disproportionately.
He had gained too much, yet he was unaware of what price he had to pay. But he knew that the stronger he got, the closer he was to pay up his dues.
This fear had always been in his heart.
"I still need to accumulate."
"Trust , you can make it, breaking through to beco a Legend, nothing will happen."
Noah gazed at the young man opposite, seemingly seeing through his thoughts,
"Even if you fall into hell, I can retrieve your soul from it."
"When I need power, I will naturally break through."
Wayne didn’t put Noah’s promises in mind because he didn’t think Noah’s power could solve his problems.
Even if this nonchalant Dragon Clan elder was imnsely powerful, it couldn’t compare to the presence perched upon the towering Purgatory mountains in his dreams.
That was his goal, one he revered, admired, and yearned for, growing alongside his dreams. As his dreams continued, this presence grew stronger day by day.
He couldn’t fathom the Realm of this presence, but he could feel its power grow, with weapons scattered around and increasingly terrifying artifacts resembling those of the Purgatory Lord remnants from legendary tos.
