"The Elf God cares about appearances, but this is a reckless Evil Demon!"
Elves, although fond of sches and tricks, always maintain their dignity and composure regardless of their actions, and won’t engage in exceedingly despicable deeds. But the Snake Mother is different.
"No worries, you’re a tal Dragon, after all. Worst case, you can pray to a Dragon God. I think any Dragon God would be happy to help you."
The girl said carelessly, completely in a way that suggests she’s unafraid of stirring up trouble.
"It costs money."
Noah said helplessly.
The fundantal rule of the Dragon Clan, even at the level of a Divine, is to charge for services.
Of course, you can also get it for free. As an Ancestor Dragon, as long as he is willing to offer his faith, any Dragon God would be willing to protect him.
If he could find a Dragon King, then no Dragon King would refuse him and would probably be willing to help, but the price would likely be becoming an adopted son.
"What else? Who can you ask for help without paying?"
The girl rolled her eyes,
"If you don’t want to pay anything, just lie here. Neither the Snake Mother nor those long-eared Elves would dare co here to act out. No matter how many Embodints they send down, they can’t hurt you."
"That’s not sothing a Legendary Mage can say, Aunt. Did you find so exceptionally strong backing?"
Noah was extrely curious. The cost for Divines to interfere in the Material Realm is huge, directly intervening with an embodint of Divine Power is the most costly, exerting full power doesn’t always yield proportional results.
Therefore, Divines are very cautious when sending down embodints, being calculative isn’t an exaggeration. More often than not, Divine Embodints aren’t particularly strong, just barely Legendary.
They just need to be slightly stronger than the main cause of the event, but this scale is hard to grasp. If the situation escalates and the Divine doesn’t strengthen their investnt in ti, it’s all over.
There are plenty of cases where a God’s Embodint was shattered. Noah just contributed to one such case.
The strongest state a Divine can achieve in the Material Realm is the Saint Form, which is the arrival of their True Body.
But a Divine in Saint Form usually only appears when there’s a major catastrophe affecting dozens or hundreds of planes, and generally isn’t seen.
Even so, it doesn’t an the other God’s Embodints can be underestimated. If a Divine spares no expense in creating a Near Saint-level embodint, it would be enough to sweep through the nations.
"I was born plain, incomparable to you, a noble Ancestor Dragon. I’m not worthy of talking about backing, I don’t have a background. If I have to ntion it, there’s only Casius."
"Uncle?"
Noah seed thoughtful, as if he understood sothing.
"You’re not tired?"
Seeing the pondering dragon, Selena asked curiously,
"From what I know, if the Dragon Species suffer any major depletion or severe injury, they would sleep to recover. Can Ancestor Dragons be an exception?"
"This is one of the Dragon Species’ racial properties. How could I escape it? I do want to nap now."
"Then have a good sleep. As for the Snake-man issue, I’ll notify Tidel to watch and examine the Kingdom’s Nobles."
"And then what? How many Nobles can refuse the temptation of life extension?"
The Noble nad Orff is not the only one; he represents a group, a group of aging Nobles unwilling to face death.
A treasure that extends life without any side effects is exceedingly rare for this group.
However, so magical rituals that let them continue existing in the world by transforming their life form are easy to find, such as becoming Undead or joining the Blood Clan.
In comparison, the Snake-man’s transformation ritual is considered perfect. The Noble who acquired the Original Blood of the Cycle Snake can repair bodily injuries and extend life through continuous shedding. The allure is self-evident for Nobles.
"If they can’t refuse the allure of life extension, they can’t resist the threat of death either."
Selena let out a cold laugh, though she spoke with disdain towards the Sitra Empire, she actually took it very seriously.
Even the colonial expeditions from the Empire might not have any strong individuals, but they must possess many very enticing Extraordinary Technologies, and life-transforming magical rituals are just one of them.
"I’ll nap for a bit."
Noah wasn’t at all surprised by the steely deanor of his adoptive mother, and fell asleep peacefully.
Since the Snake-n have already been exposed, the ensuing matters don’t need his attention and aren’t his concern.
After a short but extrely fierce encounter, the greatly depleted Golden Dragon entered a nap, though he slightly miscalculated the length of his sleep.
"Hmm~ah——"
The morning sunlight spilled across his face, the youth stretched lazily and yawned, the ticklish sensation on his face made him instinctively reach to scratch, but the hard sensation on his fingertip stunned the young man,
"What’s this?"
Alexander rushed into the washroom, and when he saw in the Crystal mirror a youthful face that gained a few heroic traces with age, he stood there dumbfounded.
Because on the youth’s profile, near his neck, there were several tiny, shining golden scales, scales he couldn’t be more familiar with,
"Dragon Scales?!"
Alexander didn’t need to ask anyone. Just from his upbringing in the Holy Dragon Territory, he could determine,
"How did I grow Dragon Scales?"
This was the youth’s greatest puzzle at the mont. He had lost count of how many tests he had undergone since birth.
Every test result clearly told him that, except for a small amount of dormant Elf Bloodline and the dominant human bloodline, he had no other special bloodlines. Yet now, features belonging to Dragons appeared on him.
"Theodore!"
After pondering for half a minute, Alexander kicked open his brother’s room. Seeing Theodore’s clean, youthful face without any anomalies, the young man grabbed his brother’s collar,
"Big brother! What are you doing?"
A groggy Theodore opened his eyes, and after seeing his sleeping robe half-torn by his brother, the initially confused eyes instantly turned horrified, reflecting bewildered panic.
"Check your body to see if you have the sa anomaly as ."
Alexander said while undressing his brother. Quickly, amidst Theodore’s fierce struggles, he stopped not out of pity, but because he found what he wanted.
There were a few tiny golden scales dotted on the youth’s emaciated shoulders, each the size of a lon seed, yet they shone brightly even in the dim indoor lighting,
"Sure enough, just like ."
Alexander reached out to stroke his brother’s shoulder, more precisely, to touch those abnormal Dragon Scales.
"What?"
Theodore finally noticed the anomaly on his own body,
"Dragon Scales?"
The young man who grew up among Dragons also recognized the scales.
"They look a lot like Great Uncle Holy Dragon!"
After so discussion, the brothers reached a preliminary conclusion and, unable to contain their excitent, eagerly went to find their sister for verification.
"Is sothing up?"
The girl in pajamas looked puzzled as she saw her brothers and a younger brother rushing over first thing in the morning,
"Aveline, let us check your body quickly!"
Theodore spoke impatiently.
"What nonsense!"
Seeing her sister’s changing face, clutching her collar and retreating warily, Alexander was a bit exasperated as he punched Theodore’s head.
