The crimson flas scorched the thief’s flesh, and when the wailing soul erged, clawed hands covered in tiny scales seized the illusory soul, ignoring its pleas and cries, swallowing and absorbing it.
"Lilith, I finally understand why both the Devils of Hell and the Demons of the Abyss relentlessly collect souls. It turns out the taste of souls is so wonderful!"
A dazed expression appeared on Wayne’s face covered with tiny scales and complex Demon Runes, as he delved into his manor. The robbers and thieves intending him harm were now completely annihilated.
After transforming into a demon and striking back when facing danger, he couldn’t suppress the stirring from his bloodline. Succumbing to his instincts, he devoured and absorbed the souls of these villains.
"But the devilish traits on you are becoming more apparent. If you continue like this, you’ll fall, possibly even becoming a true Devil."
The Little Fairy beside him looked at the tall demon before her, worry in her eyes, but deep in her gaze, there was a faint hint of excitent.
Little Fairies don’t really distinguish between good and evil. Born from flora, they are as capricious as nature itself, inherently varied beings.
So Little Fairies seek amusent by teasing passing creatures and travelers. These are considered pranks only because their weak strength cannot inflict fatal harm.
"So what if I beco a true Devil? Would it be worse than being a Tifflin? If I beco a true Devil, those people would no longer dare to insult and criticize . They would only fear ."
Having devoured six souls consecutively, Wayne’s ego swelled a bit. For the first ti, he felt the beauty of power and sensed his control over his future and destiny.
"But once you beco a true Devil, you will die."
The Little Fairy’s gentle voice struck Wayne’s head like thunder, instantly sobering the slightly inflated young fellow.
This land can allow a good-hearted Tifflin to live but will never tolerate a Devil. When faced with a Devil, even without any verification, it’ll be killed outright. Devils have no human rights.
"I was wrong, I can’t beco a Devil, but I need power."
Wayne, now clear-headed, sorted out what he ought to pursue.
"Let see."
The Little Fairy cast a Spell to identify evil once more, and the emanation from Wayne was still a hazy white light, which seed to grow denser.
"Master Wayne, if you want power, then beco the Blade of Justice. Go punish those evil-doers, destroy their bodies, snatch their souls, and let them feel pain!"
The Little Fairy Lilith, unfazed by the chaos, buzzed with excitent, setting a target for her young master.
"Aren’t you afraid of falling?"
"It’s not that easy to fall, plus, aren’t you able to control these powers?"
Thus, after surviving an attack and having tasted its sweet fruit, Wayne, the manor lord, beca the Blade of Justice walking beneath the night, punishing those evildoers hiding within darkness and shadows.
Even in the land of the Holy Dragon, there will inevitably be corners untouched by light, where darkness and sin fester.
Those sins are Wayne’s targets!
"Is this my grandson?"
With Noah beside him, Tidel looked sowhat incredulously down at the Black-armored Knight who efficiently eliminated a group of human traffickers, rescuing a bunch of kidnapped children.
Before the Patrol Knights arrived, this Black-armored Knight swiftly vanished into the darkness, aided by the shadowy cape behind, leaving no traces at the scene.
"Yes, this is your grandson, why the surprised look? Didn’t he do well?"
"He indeed did well, but why is he a Devil?"
Tidel struggled to control his emotions, for when it cos to who killed the most demons during the Hell calamity, it could be said he was peerless.
Seeing his grandson transford into a demon, walking in the night, though he was punishing evil and helping the weak, the shock was too great for him, making it hard to accept.
"Didn’t I say? He was tainted by the aura of Hell!"
"Has my mother seen him?"
"She has."
"Did you fool her with this sa reason?"
Tidel snorted lightly, dismissing the Hell contamination reason, which could only deceive ignorant commoners.
For a Legend like him, he could easily discern his grandson’s abnormality, which a Hell contamination explanation could not justify.
Even if the bloodline was inherited from a High Rank Devil, such a transformation, a Devil form completely different from human form, he had never seen a case like that.
"Of course not."
"What is the real reason for his transformation? The information I have says he’s a lowest-tier Tifflin."
"The most reasonable, yet the most improbable explanation, is that your grandson was favored and blessed by the Hell Will, granting him many Extraordinary characteristics even high-rank Devils lack."
The boy below might not understand how outrageously amazing it is to directly increase strength by soul-devouring without any side effects or damage, but Noah certainly knew.
