Wen Ran's eyes t Fang Jinyao's, and in that instant, he saw everything written on her face—panic, confusion, the raw hurt tearing at her heart. But to him, her emotions ant nothing. The only thing that bothered him was the strange stirring deep within, a foreign resistance clawing at his consciousness. It was faint, yet persistent. The lingering will of this body's forr owner, struggling against him when it ca to this woman.

"Move. I have no ti for you," Wen Ran said, his voice sharp as a blade, cutting through her like a sword to the soul. "If you think this is unjust, rember what these people owe . Rember what I suffered."

His words sliced through her like a thousand wounds, and she had no defense. She knew what he had endured. She had seen it with her own eyes. If not for that fateful encounter—the mont she saw the kindness hidden beneath his cold exterior—she might have treated him like everyone else.

"Why are you doing this?" Her voice trembled, her eyes swimming with unshed tears. "This isn't you. You know that yourself."

Wen Ran chuckled—a low, mocking laugh. "Why?" His crimson eyes glead with amusent. "Because I want to. What will you do? Will you try to stop ?"

He walked past her, his shoulder grazing hers as he moved forward, unbothered, unshaken. Fang Jinyao stood frozen, her body unwilling to move, her tears blinding her. Her heart waged its own war, torn apart by the unbearable conflict within her.

Wen Ran turned back, lips curling into a cruel grin. "I thought so…" His words struck her like a whip. "You're weak. Even that night, you could have killed both intruders, yet you hesitated. You are strong, yet you chose to sacrifice yourself for . How foolish." His gaze bore into her, stripping away every layer of her heart. "This love you feel for —it's nothing but a fleeting illusion. In a world where we can live for thousands of years, it's a re speck of dust compared to the endless opportunities you'll have to find soone who will actually love you the sa." His voice lowered, turning almost gentle—almost. "Even so… will you still pursue after I kill your entire family?"

Fang Jinyao's lips parted, but no words ca out. Her voice had abandoned her. The person she adored most had beco the very thing she feared.

Her gaze followed him as he moved forward, his blade dancing through the air, reaping lives without hesitation. Blood blood like petals in the wind, and she… she couldn't move. She couldn't bring herself to step forward, to stop him, to strike him down before he wiped out everything she knew.

She should. But she couldn't.

It's better for her this way. Wen Ran thought, eyes flickering with sothing unreadable. I understand her heart. I know it hurts, but I'm not the person she loves. A cruel smirk tugged at his lips. That damn goddess… to think she would fall so deeply for a mortal. If she ever regains her mories, she will be furious. Heh… I can't wait for that day.

He could already imagine it—the mont she would realize, the rage in her eyes as they clashed once more.

That day, we'll have a proper battle again. I wonder… will she be able to keep up this ti? If so, I wonder how it will feel to kill her all over again…

A dark chuckle rumbled in his chest, barely audible over the screams. His hatred ran deep, unshaken, unrelenting. And the gods would pay the price.

anwhile, the Wu Clan experts were sweating and swearing, cursing the heavens for the sheer misfortune that had befallen them. The middle-aged man of the Wu Clan was locked in combat with the mysterious woman, her graceful exterior contrasting sharply with the wild ferocity of her fighting style. Her sword danced through the air, almost vibrating with an unseen force, and despite his cultivation level, he found himself steadily losing ground.

"Fellow Daoist," the middle-aged man spoke, trying to sound composed despite the thin sheen of sweat on his forehead. "You have no affiliation with this clan, so why involve yourself? Why oppose us?" His voice carried a forced casualness, but his body betrayed him—his movents sluggish, his stance shaken. Every strike from her blade forced him onto the defensive, opening more and more gaps in his form. Blood trickled from the wounds now marking his body, one particularly deep cut on his neck sending a chill down his spine. A fraction slower, and he would've been dead already.

The woman, however, didn't bother responding. Her gaze remained sharp, tracking every movent of the Wu Clan cultivators, ensuring none escaped her blade. She had already taken down two of their n, and the rest now eyed her warily, fully aware that this was no ordinary opponent.

anwhile, the main culprit, Wu Xiaohui, stood at the back, his earlier arrogance nowhere to be found. His face twisted in frustration. Why the hell did this old woman have to show up and ruin my plans?! His eyes darted around, analyzing the battlefield.

And then he saw it.

The entire city was painted in blood, corpses littering the ground. A white-haired demon stood amidst the carnage, blood swirling around him like an eerie mist. And then there was her—Fang Jinyao. Frozen in place, unmoving.

A sinister grin spread across his face. This is my chance.

His mind raced, weaving a plan. If I play the hero now—if I slay this demon—I'll earn her admiration and gratitude. And then… it'll only be a matter of ti before she warms my bed every night. Hahaha!

Without hesitation, he took the opportunity to slip away while the woman was occupied with five fighters at once. He darted forward, blade drawn, his heart pounding with excitent.

And then—

BAM!

Sothing slamd into his face with the powerful kick, sending him flying backward.

Wu Xiaohui crashed through a nearby wall, rubble crumbling around him as he groaned in shock.

As the dust settled, a pair of cold, glowing blue eyes stared him down.

A small, white rabbit stood where he once was, its soft paws radiating an imnse force.

Wu Xiaohui's mind went blank. What… the hell… was that?!
