"Really?"

Blackmist scoffed, a cold smile appearing on his face as he casually took a single step backwards, effortlessly dodging Ethan’s attack. The terrifying Azure Dragon Claw sliced past his chest, leaving behind only a faint scratch across his left arm.

No matter how fast Ethan was, in front of a Quasi–Soul Transformation Realm cultivator, he was still slower by an entire realm.

"Huh... You are really sothing."

Blackmist raised his arm slightly and glanced at the shallow cut. Surprise flickered across his eyes.

Throughout his long life, he had fought countless deadly battles. He had been injured by Soul Transformation experts, hunted by ancient beasts, and survived countless assassination missions.

But seeing a re Golden Core Realm cultivator leave even the smallest wound on his body...

He had never imagined such a thing would happen.

"If you can deal such damage at the Peak Golden Core Realm," Blackmist said slowly, his gaze sharpening as he studied Ethan carefully, "then the mont you break through to the Nascent Soul Realm... you might actually be able to inflict a fatal injury upon ."

Blackmist might be greedy, but he always acknowledged true talent—especially monsters like the young man standing before him.

’Even if I break through to the Nascent Soul Realm, dealing with a Quasi–Soul Transformation Realm cultivator won’t be easy.’

Ethan thought calmly.

After entering the Azure Serpent Realm, Ethan had used his Supre Grade Spirit Root to rapidly increase his cultivation to the Peak Golden Core Realm from the Level 2 Golden Core Realm cultivation he had reported back in the sect.

Not because he expected to obtain heaven-defying combat power overnight...

But because every small increase in realm still drastically boosted his overall strength.

"However... I can kill you without even breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm."

Hearing Blackmist’s words, Ethan smiled faintly before replying confidently because he already had a plan and even a backup plan.

"Hahaha!"

Blackmist burst into laughter.

"I like confidence," he said while shaking his head. "But what you call confidence... is nothing more than arrogance. Or perhaps ignorance."

He truly found Ethan amusing.

After all, forget Low-level Nascent Soul cultivators—even High-level Nascent Soul cultivators would struggle to survive a few moves against soone at the Quasi–Soul Transformation Realm.

Nevertheless, instead of becoming angry, Blackmist’s eyes glead with interest.

"But... with your potential, I am willing to ignore your disrespect."

His tone suddenly softened.

"I want to take you in as my disciple."

"What?"

Even Ethan showed genuine surprise this ti.

With his interactions with the assassins from the [Eternal Shadow Guild], the stronger the assassin, the more cruel and maniacal they would beco.

Even Shadow Wu would agree with that because once one starts killing people for money, it eventually turns one into a lunatic.

So, when he heard Blackmist’s offer, Ethan could not help but be surprised.

"As long as you accept as your master," Blackmist continued calmly, "I will provide you with all the resources, cultivation manuals, and assassination techniques required to help you break through to the Soul Transformation Realm."

That was his true intention.

As the Supervisor of the Eternal Shadow Guild in charge of the Erald Green Plains, Blackmist possessed enormous authority. Recruiting and nurturing elite assassins was part of his responsibility.

And Ethan... a youth less than twenty years old who had already reached the Peak Golden Core Realm and possessed such monstrous battle prowess...

He was an existence that only appeared once in tens of thousands of years.

Of course, Blackmist also had his own calculations.

By recruiting Ethan, he could slowly uncover the secrets of the Azure Serpent Realm... along with whatever hidden treasures lay within it.

If Ethan refused... then killing him and seizing everything would be just as acceptable.

"What do you say?" Blackmist asked, his tone confident.

Seeing Ethan’s stunned expression, he was not surprised at all.

"Actually..." Ethan quickly cald himself and thought of sothing.

Tilting his head slightly, he slowly spoke, "There was another organisation that wanted to recruit . Can you offer more resources than them?"

Blackmist’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"Oh? Which organisation?"

He wasn’t shocked. With Ethan’s talent, even the top forces of the world would compete to recruit him.

"You might have already heard about it," Ethan replied calmly. "This Azure Serpent Realm belongs to an organisation called the Azure Dragon Hall. They said that as long as I take care of you and the Greenfire Sect, they will recruit and help beco a Soul Transformation Realm Cultivator within a thousand years."

"Azure Dragon Hall?"

Blackmist frowned before shrugging dismissively.

"Never heard of it. It must be a newly ford organisation."

His voice turned disdainful.

"Compared to my Eternal Shadow Guild, which is recognised by the heavens themselves, such insignificant organisations are nothing."

"Then... can you tell more about the organisations in this world?" Ethan asked casually.

When he received the World Organisation Token, Ethan knew there were so many organisations in the world.

He was interested in them... especially the ones that were acknowledged by the Heavens because those organisations bestow so special benefits to their guild mbers.

For example, the assassins of the [Eternal Shadow Guild] were marked with [Shadow’ Mark], which would leave a mark on their killer.

So, the death of the subordinates could be avenged by the other nearby guild mbers.

It was just one of the benefits that Ethan knew about.

As for the Starlight rchant Union, Ethan guessed the benefits were related to businesses.

So, he wanted to know what other Organizations exist in the world that were acknowledged by the Heavens.

’...’

Blackmist paused.

Seeing the genuine curiosity in Ethan’s eyes, he felt increasingly confident about recruiting him.

As long as he could recruit Ethan, even without the Godly Treasure in the Azure Serpent Realm, Blackmist believed he could gain enough credits to buy the resources required to break through to the Soul Transformation Realm.

"Very well," Blackmist said with a nod. "But before talking about organisations, you must understand the structure of the world itself."

Soon, Blackmist started explaining.
