It wasn’t cultivation resources that shocked him.....It was the fact that his seniors were honest and generous with him by giving him a bigger share of profits.

That’s right!

By reselling the Night Demons, the entire team had made a total profit of 230 million low-level Spirit Stones.

When the share was split among the four disciples, each should have gotten less than 60 million. Ethan was already prepared to receive the sa amount.

After all, even though it was he who had connected them with the buyer, the hard part—negotiating with more than twenty Core Disciples in just two days and convincing them to sell—was done by Veylen, Kael, and Lyra.

But instead of sixty million, his jade slip reflected a transfer of seventy-five million Spirit Stones into his Storage Ring.

’Even though it was who connected them with the buyer, I don’t think anyone would give away an extra fifteen million just like that. Most cultivators wouldn’t even think about it.’

Kael chuckled, breaking his thoughts. "It’s because of you that we t a genuine buyer. So everyone decided you should get an extra share of the profits."

Of course, he didn’t forget to add a condition. "When we gather more Night Demons, we’ll need your help to contact rchant Skull again."

"It’s not a problem," Ethan replied calmly.

In truth, he had already decided to buy and free more Night Demons anyway—not only for the profit, but also for the God Essence he could harvest through their loyalty. Their condition aligned perfectly with his own goals.

Veylen, Lyra, and Kael began discussing how this could beco a long-term business venture—buying Night Demons cheaply and reselling them to rchant Skull at a premium.

The money was easy, the market was stable, and rchant Skull’s demand seed endless.

’Even though 75 million spirit stones are not much compared to the 1.5 Billion Spirit Stones left in my Storage Ring. There is no need to reject them.’

Ethan decided to take the spirit stones because with them, he could indirectly buy more Night Demons, or he could just spend them as ’Kai’ now, as he doesn’t have to worry about explaining to the sect in case they ask him where he got the money.

When a disciple spends so much out of nowhere, it would be easily noticed by other disciples, and they could report these things to the sect, which would investigate the source of his wealth.

If they find any suspicion, the disciple would be thoroughly investigated, and if the disciple is doing anything illegal, like selling away the sect’s secrets, following the demon path and so on, he would be executed.

’Selling the Night Demons is not illegal, and since we are trading with Skulnen, an ancestor of the Hermit Tribe, it is not going to be a problem.’

When the sect investigates, Veylen and others could vouch for him doing business with Skulnen. ’So, it is just a matter of ti before Brother Veylen figures out Skulnen’s identity.’

After giving the spirit stones to Ethan, Kael started talking and discussing so things.

The casual discussion soon shifted to sect matters and idle chatter, until Kael’s tone suddenly beca serious after receiving a ssage from his communication talisman.

His gaze sharpened as he asked, "Kai... if you don’t mind, can I ask you a question?"

"Huh?" Ethan raised his brows at the sudden change but nodded. "Ask away."

Kael hesitated for a brief mont before speaking, "How do you know rchant Skull... or should I say, Ancestor Skulnen of the Bonepiercer Tribe?"

Ethan’s pupils constricted.

Ancestors of the Hermit Tribes are terrifying ancient existences who have lived for more than ten thousand years. And above all, the Hermit Tribe was a Bonepiercer Tribe that seldom communicated with the outside world unless it was absolutely necessary, thanks to their thods being considered gross and evil.

Logically, they should have dealt directly with the Supre Elders of the Greenfire Sect. Why would soone of Skulnen’s stature lower himself to deal with a newly promoted Core Disciple like him?

"Y-you... how did you know about his identity?" Ethan asked, his voice carrying genuine shock.

Even though he had deliberately allowed Skulnen’s identity to be exposed during their dealings, he hadn’t expected them to deduce it so quickly.

In less than a day, they had pieced it together. His respect for his seniors deepened.

’So, Brother Veylen guessed it, and Kael is confirming it now using my reaction. As expected of him. No wonder Lyra and Kael follow his lead.’

Kael’s communication talisman flickered as he muttered, "Brother Veylen, your guess was right."

Ethan sighed inwardly, realising he had walked straight into their trap. But instead of resisting, he simply followed the script he had already prepared.

"Brother Kael, you must know how I broke through to the Golden Core Realm, right?"

He began to narrate slowly, in his own words:

"A few weeks ago, when the Azure Serpent Realm was locked down, I was stuck inside while hunting so Azure Serpents for my level breakthrough.

During that ti, I unknowingly crossed paths with Ancestor Skulnen. He was injured, suppressed by the realm’s will, and in need of help. By sheer coincidence, I assisted him sohow... and in return, he took control of the Azure Serpent Realm itself."

Ethan clenched his fists, his expression twisting with bitterness, sadness, and suppressed anger.

"Damn it... if I had known it earlier, I would never have helped him. Instead, I would have beco the owner of the Azure Serpent Realm myself."

His acting was flawless, every word laced with genuine frustration at soone who missed the opportunity to beco the Master of the Azure Serpent Realm.

Who wouldn’t be frustrated for losing a Secret Realm?

"What?" Kael’s voice cracked in disbelief. His body stiffened as the implications sank in. "Are you telling the Azure Serpent Realm is now under the Bonepiercer Tribe’s control?"

Ethan remained silent at first, letting the weight of those words sink into Kael’s heart. Then, after a few seconds, he nodded. "Yes, Brother Kael."

His tone grew calr, steady, as though resigning himself to the mory.

"After that, he gave a Golden Core Pill and personally protected during my breakthrough to the Golden Core Realm." Ethan glanced at Kael and, noticing the shock in his eyes, decided to add the finishing touch.

"Otherwise, how could I, a re Foundation Establishnt cultivator, have survived in the Azure Serpent Realm—let alone during a breakthrough?"

"He also ntioned his need for the Night Demons, and that is why I joined the Night Demon Expedition to capture so Night Demons to sell to him at a good price."

Kael froze. His lips parted, but no sound ca out. His disbelief only deepened. "But... you said Elder Wren—"

Ethan cut him off with a bitter smile. "Will the sect promote into a Core Disciple that easily if I admit to having direct contact with an Ancestor of a Hermit Tribe?

"No. That’s why I never revealed it. But I was not planning to hide it forever. I simply wanted to prove my worth before revealing the truth."

Then his tone shifted, carefully laced with helplessness. "I hope Brother Kael won’t share this with Elder Wren for now. If the sect learns of it, they’ll cut us out and directly take the business of Night Demons for themselves."

The aning was clear. If Kael exposed him, they would all lose their newfound fortune.

Ethan inwardly smirked. After tasting easy money, would they betray to the sect? Or would they side with ?

Even if they revealed it, he wouldn’t be affected.

Unlike his fellow Core Disciples, he already knew about the Elixir God’s hidden contract—they wouldn’t dare question his loyalty openly.

In fact, it might even be better if the sect learned of his connection to Ancestor Skulnen. With their reach, they could gather Night Demons far faster than Veylen’s group.

But this was his test. If they keep my secret, I can trust them. If they run to the sect, I’ll cut them off.

"Kai, we swear we won’t reveal this secret."

The voice ca not from Kael, but from Veylen through the communication talisman. Lyra followed a heartbeat later, and finally, Kael himself swore before Ethan.

’Good.’ Ethan’s eyes softened slightly. ’As long as they are not dead loyal to the sect, I can keep them close.’

Even if their silence ca only from greed, it didn’t matter. What mattered was that they had chosen him over the sect—for now.

"Thank you, Seniors." Ethan bowed lightly, his gratitude sincere on the surface. After a few more casual words, he dismissed Kael.

Once alone, his expression changed, the careful act lting away. "With this, I can say I’ve gained so good friends... friends who will gather Night Demons for ."

Heaving a long sigh, Ethan sat down in his quiet room. His thoughts shifted imdiately.

"I already told them I’ll be in closed cultivation, preparing for my breakthrough to the Second Level of the Golden Core Realm. That excuse gives enough ti..."

His eyes fell on the black pendant resting in his palm. The Demon Ancestor’s Life Pendant pulsed faintly with a sinister glow, "...to claim the Demon Ancestor’s Inheritance."

He had already inford Veylen and the others that he would cut off outside communication temporarily. With Felix in place to command during the next Demon Expedition, Ethan could focus entirely on the pendant without worry.

’With Felix leading, the others can capture more Night Demons. By the ti I return, there will be an army waiting—and more God Essence for .’

His heart pounded with anticipation. "Anyway, now... It’s ti to enter the Demonic Secret Realm."

With eyes burning with expectation, Ethan poured his will into the Demon Ancestor’s Life Pendant.

But the very next second—sothing completely unexpected happened.

Sothing that left Ethan utterly speechless.
