Capítulo 569: Forsaken Son

In the Green Lotus Enclave,

“So that’s what happened in the Feng Family.”

Ethan sat quietly as Chief Cedric relayed Elder Jabor’s report, his eyes flashing with a strange light.

Until a few monts ago, Ethan was genuinely worried—why would Elias go so far as to slaughter the entire Feng Family?

But after learning about the Evil Ritual, Mirella’s identity, and the existence of hidden Evil Cultivators in the Feng Family, he finally got the complete picture.

For Ethan, killing one’s own family was sothing he could never lightly accept. But in Elias’s case… Ethan felt he had done the right thing.

‘They sacrificed his mother for power. For such a family, extermination is only fitting.’

“It is going to create a huge commotion for the next couple of days.” Ethan’s voice turned calm, decisive. “Tell him to enter the Azure Serpent Realm and wait for .”

He didn’t waste any ti. Elias’s massacre would definitely draw the attention of the Greenfire Sect. Sooner or later, they would capture him in the na of “justice.”

And the only safe place for Elias was the Azure Serpent Realm—where even Nascent Soul Realm cultivators were strictly forbidden to enter.

Although Golden Core Realm cultivators weren’t supposed to enter either, Elias was Ethan’s subordinate. That alone was enough to shield him from consequences.

“Let’s put the ‘Increase Loyalty’ mission on hold,” Ethan muttered, narrowing his eyes.

According to his original plan, he was supposed to leave the Green Lotus Enclave quietly in the night. However, thanks to Elias’s actions, he had to move his schedule ahead.

After saying his goodbyes to his parents, Ethan, accompanied by Zepharis, rushed toward the Azure Serpent Realm.

‘I still don’t understand what this ans.’

As he moved, Ethan opened the [Godly Son Creation] feature and carefully checked the system notifications related to Elias.

The notifications were as follows:

[The host’s subordinate has completed the Heavenly Son’s requirents]

[But soon after, he also completed the Abyssal Son’s requirents]

[Therefore, the subordinate will be neither a Heavenly Son nor an Abyssal Son, but a Forsaken Son]

[Please check more information about it in the target’s information]

Ethan’s brows furrowed deeply. Now, he understood Elias was neither a Heavenly Son nor an Abyssal Son—he had strayed from both paths, walking an entirely different one… the path of a Forsaken Son.

But what exactly did a Forsaken Son an?

From the na alone, Ethan could tell this was no blessing. It reeked of tragedy. A path that Heaven abandoned… and even the Abyss rejected.

‘I can only get more details about that path by eting Elias in person.’

Even though Ethan had access to his subordinates’ information, there was a condition: the subordinate had to be within close proximity to him. Without that, all he could see were fragnted notifications and vague hints.

That was the reason Ethan moved his plan forward—he had to see Elias with his own eyes.

He had to witness what kind of transformation had happened, not only after Elias’s Golden Core breakthrough… but after becoming a Forsaken Son.

In the Azure Serpent Realm,

Ethan didn’t take the normal entrance; instead, he teleported into the secret realm with ease thanks to the ‘Special Permit Tattoo’—a blessing bestowed upon him by the yet-to-be-born Nature Spirit, Azuron.

Ethan didn’t rush to et the leaders of the Azure Serpent Clan. Instead, he chose to wait at the entrance hall, standing with his arms folded, his expression unreadable.

Minutes passed.

Finally, two figures appeared in the secret realm—Elias and Elder Jabor.

The young man’s flas had dimd, but Ethan could still sense the violent, unstable aura swirling inside him, like a volcano forcefully restrained.

Jabor, on the other hand, kept his usual calm, though his eyes darted nervously at Elias from ti to ti.

He was worried whether Master Ethan might scold him for not stopping Elias from doing what he did earlier.

“Brother Ethan, I am sorry.” Elias was the first to speak, his voice low yet urgent. He quickly bowed his head. “I… I was unable to control my anger after awakening my new bloodline.”

The apology wasn’t forced. Elias’s face was pale, his fists clenched tightly at his sides. He was ashad—ashad not because of the massacre, but because he feared he had disappointed Ethan.

Ethan sighed softly, taking a step forward. His gaze locked onto Elias, piercing through the boy’s trembling facade.

“Raise your head, Elias.” His voice carried no anger, only the weight of authority. “Tell everything—from the mont you awakened that bloodline… until the mont you lost control.”

Even though he heard about what happened through Chief Cedric, Ethan wanted to hear it through Elias and get the complete picture.

The air between them grew heavy. Even Jabor subconsciously straightened his back. He knew Ethan wasn’t rely asking as a brother—he was probing as a master.

And Elias… Elias felt it too.

Soon, Elias said everything from the mont he entered the Feng Family manor to the last family mber he killed before saying:

“I am willing to take any punishnt for my wrongdoings,” Elias said in a firm tone.

What he had explained earlier about his bloodline was true. When the [Raging Fire King’s Bloodline] was activated, he would be easily triggered, and his reason was swallowed whole.

In that state, he could only vent his wrath on the source of his fury—no matter what stood in his path.

“You have done nothing wrong. You removed evil from the world… and more importantly, you avenged your mother.”

Ethan shook his head. His voice was steady, yet carried the weight of final judgnt.

Yes, Elias’s actions seed overboard in the eyes of others. A whole family was reduced to ashes. But to Ethan, there was no excess in his judgnt. If an entire family could stand by and watch an evil ritual without raising a hand to stop it—even when it ant sacrificing an innocent life—then there was no reason to pity them.

The only thing that currently weighed on Ethan’s heart was not the massacre. It was Elias himself.

A subordinate who had beco sothing unheard of… a Forsaken Son, and the reason for that was him, Ethan.

Ethan narrowed his eyes. Not even Ancestor Skulnen, with all his vast knowledge of realms and lineages, had spoken of such a path. It was beyond Heavenly Sons, beyond Abyssal Sons.

‘If I hadn’t tried to turn Elias into a Godly Son… none of this would have happened.’

For the first ti in a while, Ethan felt a sharp sting of guilt pierce his heart. Elias’s path as a Forsaken Son was not born from his own choice alone—it was Ethan’s push, his system’s interference, that had twisted fate this way.

‘I need to know exactly what Elias has beco.’

While keeping his expression calm and words steady to support Elias, Ethan silently willed the system interface to open.

His intent cut through the invisible bond like a blade, pulling up Elias’s profile.

At once, golden text lined with ominous black streaks flickered before his eyes.

[Subordinate Na: Elias Feng]

[Realm: Golden Core – Level 1]

[Bloodline: Fallen Fire Emperor’s Bloodline (Mutated)]

[Title: Forsaken Son]

‘His bloodline… mutated?’ Ethan’s brows twitched. Shock passed through him for a breath, but he quickly focused on what truly mattered.

[Unique Traits of the Title – Forsaken Son:]

[1) Forsaken Lifespan] – Neither the Heavens nor the Abyss acknowledge him. As a Forsaken Son, his existence is rejected. He can only possess 1% of the lifespan of his realm peers. Lifespan cannot be increased by any external resource.

[Current Lifespan: 1/10 years]

[2) Forsaken Cultivation] – Since neither Heavens nor Abyss own him, his body is unbound by their rules. He can absorb all forms of essence—fire, lightning, demonic, spiritual, even abyssal—for cultivation. However, cultivation speed is reduced tenfold.

[3) Forsaken Breakthrough] – Both Heavens and Abyss want the Forsaken Son to perish. Why allow him to live longer? Every major breakthrough requires ten tis the effort and accumulation compared to others.

[4) Forsaken Immortality] – After such rciless restrictions, the Heavens and Abyss granted one twisted blessing: Immortality. A Forsaken Son cannot be killed by any ans—until his lifespan runs out.

Ethan’s pupils contracted violently as he didn’t expect the title [Forsaken Son] would be this bad.

‘T-This… What kind of monstrous fate is this?’

Every line he read was like a nail driven into his chest.

‘The first trait stripped away Elias’s lifespan, leaving him only ten years… no, less than that. Just nine years remain.’

What’s more, there was no use even if Elias consud so life-prolonging cultivation resources, which showed how forsaken he was.

‘The second trait lets him devour all essence—but what’s the point, when his cultivation speed is crippled tenfold?’

In short, Elias could cultivate wherever he wanted, but even in places filled with pure essence, the cultivation speed would be extrely slow.

‘The third trait outright declares that Heaven and Abyss both want him dead. They’ll make sure his breakthroughs are as close to impossible as they can be.’

The more Ethan read them, the more he cursed the path of the Forsaken Son.

And then his gaze lingered on the final line.

‘Only the fourth trait… only that so-called “blessing” offers any hope. A false hope. Elias cannot be killed, but when the sand in his hourglass runs out, even Immortality will abandon him.’

Ethan exhaled slowly, his fists tightening at his side.

‘These are not blessings. This is a curse dressed in mockery. A path drenched in despair.’

Ethan scoffed at the traits; however, he quickly thought of sothing and muttered, ‘So what if he is abandoned by Heaven and Abyss? I am here, and I will help him and change his fate.’

With that thought in mind, Ethan checked the information on the mutated bloodline, and he was once again shocked, but this ti, in a good way.
