[1) Mission Na: Demon Saviour]

[Objective: Get the loyalty of at least 100 Night Demons]

[Reward: A New Cultivation Talent]

[Ti Limit: One month]

[Penalty: One of the Special Talents will disappear]

’T-this...’

Looking at the details of the first system mission, Ethan was excited until he saw the ti limit and the penalty for that mission.

’Even though it is difficult, I might be able to find 100 Night Demon Puppets in a month; however, the problem is, I no longer have any General Revival Life Cards.’

If he can’t complete the mission within a month, then he could lose one of his Special Talents forever, which is a great penalty.

’What’s more, the reward I get is just a Cultivation Talent, and if I fail, I will lose a Special Talent. Clearly, the risk-reward ratio is not balanced.’

Ethan finally realised what the system ant when it said the missions would be aggressive.

The thing is, this mission was the easiest one; however, the one-month deadline was the problem.

’I have no choice but to find a way to complete it.’

Ethan had no choice but to co up with a solution for this mission with only a one-month ti limit.

’There are still four more missions, and depending on the ti limit, I will start planning which mission I should focus on first.’

With that thought in mind, Ethan didn’t bother to think about the first mission; instead, he started checking the other missions generated by the system.

The second mission was also related to Night Demons; however, it seed much easier for Ethan compared to the first mission.

[2) Mission Na: Night Demon Nurturer]

[Objective: Find a suitable Secret Realm for your Night Demons and help them settle and grow in that realm]

[Reward: A Special Life Card]

[Ti Limit: Two Months]

[Penalty: Betrayal of one or more Night Demons]

There are different secret realms in the world, depending on the environnt inside them. The secret realms that promote demon cultivation are called Demonic Secret Realms.

This second mission required Ethan to find a Demonic Secret Realm for his Night Demons.

’After a couple of weeks, I will have so many Nascent Soul Realm Cultivators under and with their help, I can easily find good Secret Realms for the Night Demons.’

Regarding this mission, Ethan was not worried much because two months was enough ti to find a Demonic Secret Realm for his Night Demons.

Thus, Ethan didn’t bother much about the penalty.

’Third mission.’

[3) Mission Na: Transcendent Master]

[Objective: Upgrade one of the Regular Cultivation Techniques to the Transcendent Stage]

[Reward: 1 Billion Life Points]

[Ti Limit: Three Months]

[Penalty: 1 Billion Life Points]

’Three Months?’

Like the first mission, the third mission made Ethan frown.

’Even though I have enough God Essence, I can’t use it until I unlock the first effect of the [God’s Proxy].’

Ethan thought about it for a mont, and when he saw the penalty, his worries disappeared.

’I will try to complete this mission, but I don’t mind taking a penalty of 1 Billion Life Points.’

Actually, if Ethan fully focused on this mission, he could complete it; however, to do that, he had to give up on his other missions and goals he had planned.

’Even though one billion Life Points is not a small amount, it is sothing I can earn back in no ti.’

Since Ethan would be nurturing Special Rank 5 Spirit Plants in the Green Lotus Enclave, he could easily earn Life Points. Other than that, he could also harvest Life Points from nurturing the Spirit Beasts in the Primordial Beast Realm.

Thus, Ethan didn’t mind losing 1 billion Life Points while focusing on other missions that carried much harsher penalties.

With that thought in mind, Ethan checked the fourth mission.

[4) Mission Na: Forbidden Exploration]

[Objective: Explore at least three Secret Realms in the Forbidden Forests]

[Reward: 3 Billion Life Points]

[Ti Limit: Six Months]

[Penalty: 3 Billion Life Points]

’Phew... a relatively easier mission.’

There were two difficulties in exploring the Secret Realms within the Forbidden Forest. One, finding the Secret Realms in the vast, ever-changing terrain. Two, the dangers lurking in the forest—ancient spirit beasts, deadly arrays, and unknown phenona—that could easily claim the life of a high-level Nascent Soul Realm Cultivator if they were not careful.

However, for Ethan, who was not afraid of death thanks to his Godly Revival Ability, exploring such deadly zones was far less of a challenge. Moreover, with a generous ti limit of six months, this mission was practically guaranteed to be completed.

’I noticed the ti limit for each mission keeps increasing. So, the next mission should give at least a year. That ans I’ll have enough ti to plan properly.’

After seeing the four missions, Ethan felt slightly reassured. The gradual increase in ti limits gave him so breathing room. With that expectation, he eagerly looked at the fifth mission.

[5) Mission Na: Master of the Province]

[Objective: Create a World Organisation and beco the sole master of the Verdant Skymount Province]

[Reward: Recognition of the World Spirit]

[Ti Limit: 1 Year]

[Penalty: System finds a new worthy host]

’What? Becoming the Master of the Province?’

From the na of the mission alone, Ethan was thoroughly shocked. His eyes quickly darted to the ti limit.

’What? Only one year?’

Ethan’s shock doubled after seeing the ti fra.

If the objective was just to beco the Master of the Bonepiercer Tribe and the Moonshadow Tribe, Ethan would have thought this was a very easy mission.

With his Undead Avatar and the terrifying army he could amass in a year, there would be no one in the Verdant Skymount Province who could stop him.

However, thanks to his conversations with the Chiefs of the two Hermit Tribes, Ethan had learned a critical truth—each top sect was backed by a powerful hidden organisation. It was the real reason behind their long-standing dominance.

Moreover, so of the Hermit Tribes in the neighbouring Skycloud Region and Golden Summit Region might have already sworn secret loyalty to those organisations as well.

That ant the mont Ethan made his move against the forces in the Verdant Skymount Province, those hidden organisations would no longer sit idle. They would make their move against him without hesitation.

’Tch... this is the most dangerous one. But the reward... is even more enticing.’

Ethan clenched his fists, feeling both excitent and pressure weigh down on him.

Becoming the Master of a Province in just one year was insane. But the reward—Recognition of the World Spirit—was even more insane.

It was the type of reward that could help him unlock the final effect of the [God’s Proxy].

The effect required Ethan to beco the Master of the World, and the fastest way to beco the Master was by having contact with the World Spirit.

’Becoming the Master of a Province is the first step before I beco the Master of the entire world.’

Unlike the Nature Spirit of the World Secret Realm, which prefers soone and dislikes others, the World Spirit is completely different, as it cannot differentiate between the living beings of the world.

’So say the World Spirit has the nature of a benevolent mother that treats everyone equally, whereas others claim that it has the nature of a detached mother who doesn’t care about anything.’

’There are even so myths claiming that the World Spirit is in a half-slumber and waiting for a ruler to erge from the world to awaken her.’

’Whatever the case, I have to complete the mission and get the recognition of the World Spirit.’

Once he received the recognition of the World Spirit, Ethan believed he could communicate with the World Spirit, who would then help him beco the ruler of the World.

’Even though all these missions have a ti limit, I will spend my ti in the Green Lotus Enclave as I planned earlier.’

Once he checked all five system missions, Ethan leaned back and closed his eyes.

’That’s it. I already planned to take six days off, and I’m sticking to it.’

That’s right! No matter how urgent the system made these missions sound, Ethan didn’t want to repeat the sa mistake he had made in his previous life—chasing power and goals endlessly without pause.

The penalties were harsh, yes, but they were not enough to shake his resolve, and more importantly, he could afford the penalties.

Even though the last mission’s penalty was really harsh, where the system would leave Ethan, and he didn’t want that to happen, if there ca a ti when he could not keep up with the system’s aggressive mission, he felt parting ways would be a good thing for both the system and him.

’If I keep running after every mission, then what? The system will simply give a new set once I finish these. Then another. And another. It’s a never-ending cycle.’

Most cultivators comfort themselves by saying, "Cultivators have long lives. Spending the early years rushing to grow stronger is only natural."

Back in his past life, he said sothing similar to himself about earning lots of money and taking care of his parents.

Before he could take care of them, they passed away, and after their death, Ethan was unable to think of any good mories he had spent with them.

With such regret carved deep into his soul, Ethan wasn’t going to let history repeat itself.

’Even though I have the Godly Revival Ability... even though I can revive myself and even revive others if needed, this is still a cultivation world filled with peak experts, demons, and slumbering ancient evils. No matter how careful I am, anything can happen at any mont.’

And because of that, he wanted to cherish what truly mattered—his family, his companions, and even the bonds he was slowly forming with spirits like Miso.

Ethan took a deep breath, allowing the silence of the Green Lotus Enclave to wash over him.

For once, he wasn’t thinking about strategy, rewards, or penalties. Instead, he thought about spending the next few days enjoying als, chatting, laughing, and simply existing with the people around him.

’The first five days, I won’t think about the missions at all. I’ll enjoy them fully. On the sixth day, I’ll start planning. And once I leave the enclave, I’ll move forward with all my strength.’

A small smile tugged at his lips. For others, such leisure in the middle of deadly system missions might seem like madness. But for Ethan, it was clarity.

’Power without purpose is hollow. And I... I refuse to be hollow again.’

With that thought, Ethan allowed his body to fully relax. For the first ti in what felt like ages, he permitted himself to rest—not as a Realm Lord, not as a cultivator bound by missions, but simply as Ethan.
