"Princesses?" Louis tilted his head. He was absolutely certain that the heirs to these castles did not have the status of ’princess’ or "prince."
"That’s what we call three people, won, from our region. Miss Evergreen is the third. Playful Rebecca is the second. The first... belongs to the Lockwards, I don’t know who she is, to be honest. I just know she exists." She replied with complete honesty.
"I see. Why is each one known? Although I have a feeling I know the reasons for Rebecca, what makes the other two known, besides being daughters of powerful clans?" He asked.
"Haha, that’s a bit of a complex question to answer. I’ll start by saying that no one knows what makes the Princess of Lockward famous. The simple fact that she exists and is the daughter of one of the leaders of that castle is enough to make her famous. But there are those who claim that she is the most talented woman the Empire has ever had," she said and looked toward the stands.
"Miss Evergreen is known for her great magical ability. She is one of the most incredible won in magic among the younger generation. Currently, within the Academy throughout the Empire, there are perhaps only one or two who can compare to her in that regard, although this in itself is not certain."
"That good? What level of mage is she?"
"Who knows, but she knows more than 80 level 5 spells. Even Professor Hardrial has been surprised by her magical ability and describes her as the second most important pillar of the Empire’s magic in the younger generation."
Louis looked at her. "Second pillar? Who is the first?" he asked.
"Haha, the one in the first second position. Miss Rebecca."
"Huh?" He was speechless. "What does she have to do with magic? Doesn’t she always carry weapons around? Since when is she such an outstanding magician?"
Laura laughed and nodded.
"That’s what no one understands about her. Miss Rebecca and Miss Evergreen belong to the sa academic year, both graduating at the sa ti. Back then, Miss Evergreen was already incredibly talented, but she was known more for her natural beauty than for her impressive talent. That’s because she was next to the great and unrivaled Rebecca Priestley."
"To this day, she remains the most famous woman in the Academy. If she were to co, well, you’d know by the screams of her fans," he said, smiling.
And he hadn’t even finished speaking when they heard a great commotion coming from the stands and from outside.
"It’s Miss Rebecca!" A loud cry was heard from a distance, and many people tried to run towards her, but no one did when they saw the man walking beside her.
"Robert Priestley!"
Everyone swallowed hard and stepped aside, although the shouts of greeting continued to co.
anwhile, in Louis and Laura’s room, she smiled. "See? Whenever she shows up sowhere, she causes a stir," she said.
Louis nodded, deep in thought.
He, of course, suspected that Rebecca was a magician, but he didn’t think she was so powerful and famous.
It seems that even she must be careful.
If Evergreen is known as the second pillar of magic for being level 5, perhaps 6, how powerful is that woman? Is she a level 6 mage, or has she perhaps reached level 7?
He has witnessed the difficulties of reaching level 5, and Laura, a woman so talented, is barely level 4. Of course, there is a certain age difference between them and Evergreen and Rebecca, but could they reach those levels by the ti that ti passes?
Level 5 magic... is complicated. How much more complicated will level 6 or even level 7 magic be?
Louis soon saw Rebecca and a man, Robert Priestley, who recognized him because he had seen him in the newspapers, arrive at their VIP seats and settle in.
Many greeted them, but Robert Priestley looked thoughtful and puzzled.
Rebecca, for her part, made no secret of the fact that her reason for coming here was to gamble (which is why she brought a bookmaker with her).
"Father, what’s worrying you so much?" Rebecca asked.
"So very important people are coming," he said.
"Hm? Very important people?" She looked at him, puzzled.
There were several representatives from Evergreen, the Nevilles, and the other Great Houses. The Duke of Velharthe was present, along with nurous other nobles.
The leader of the Priestleys himself had co here.
On the academic side, the director and his board of directors were present.
In her personal room, she could see Hardrial, waiting for his students to appear.
What could be more important than all these people who were here?
"Who are they?" she asked.
Robert looked up. "You’ll find out soon enough. The thing is, I don’t understand what they’re all doing here. Has sothing caught their attention, or is this more important than I thought?"
Rebecca raised her eyebrows in surprise. If even her dad was saying that, then she should expect people on the level of...
"T-t-the Emperor?"
Surrounded by a large number of powerful people, a man stood out at the bow of a flying ship. His clothes fluttered in the wind, making him look incredibly gigantic, as if his shadow stretched out in all directions.
His head was adorned with a rather large crown, and he wore the sash that showed him to be the highest representative of the empire, which matched his staff, which, even from a distance, stood out for its powerful presence.
At that mont, a large number of royal guards jumped from the ship and landed in different parts of the stands.
VROM*
The sound of weapons hitting the ground in unison silenced the crowd.
"Welco, Emperor!"
"Welco, Castles!"
"Greetings, Lord Priestley! Greetings, Miss Evergreen!"
The royal guards were trained not to let anyone pass who was worthy of a greeting at the level of the emperor. But this ti, even though they could technically greet Robert Priestley as Emperor, they did not.
This made Robert himself raise his eyebrows. "Since when did my status decrease to that of a re Lord?" he thought.
Even so, he let it go for now because the Emperor wasn’t alone. Behind him were all the leaders of the other castles in the North, as well as other very important people. Making a scene with those guys around would be getting into a pointless fight, because those idiots are too dependent on the Emperor.
With that greeting, the Emperor descended and everyone else (civilians and those who were not so important) joined in to greet him.
Once everyone had reached the ground, several chairs were prepared in the Emperor’s hall, where he sat down with the other castle leaders.
But there was one empty chair, and the Emperor did not sit down as soon as he arrived.
"Gentlen, thank you for the welco, and I also apologize for my rude arrival," he said. Charisma seed to emanate from his body, and he spoke again. "Now, let us welco a great lady who will honor us with her presence."
When his words ca to an end, the royal guards roared, "Welco, Lady Loren!"
"Lady Loren?" Robert frowned and watched as a solitary, yet absurdly beautiful figure descended from the ship.
She was dressed in the robes of a priestess of the Asoist Church. She was the leader of the Empire’s Asoist Church.
Lady Loren, a woman whose title of priestess did not truly represent who she was. If anyone in the Empire could match her, it would perhaps only be soone from the Lockwards.
"What is that woman doing here? What the hell are these guys up to?" he thought.
Lady Loren sat down next to the Emperor. Now, Robert had noticed sothing strange about this.
All the newcors were quite powerful and had gathered on the side where most of the scholars were. They were powerful and suddenly practically overshadowed the other side, where he was sitting.
In fact, Lady Loren didn’t even greet him or glance at him, and neither did the Emperor.
This was a trendous lack of respect. But he couldn’t help thinking that they were planning sothing.
"I can’t be alone," he thought, and looked at his personal guard behind him. "Tell Miss Evergreen to co here," he said.
"Right away, Lord." Then he left.
"Are you afraid they’re planning sothing big?" Rebecca asked.
"With the Lockwards inactive, the church and its allies have beco more unrestrained these days, and the North has always been inclined to obey the Emperor’s rules. It’s no secret to us that the Emperor was practically put there by the Church and the Lockwards simply gave their approval," he said.
Rebecca agreed. "What do you think they’re up to?"
"Hmph, you’d better not get your hopes up. You’re not ready for the repercussions," he said.
Just then, the door opened and Miss Evergreen entered.
"Mr. Robert’s call certainly ca as a surprise, but it makes realize that we’re facing a potentially significant developnt, right?" she said.
"Ever since your parents made the irresponsible decision to leave for the Mages’ Society and leave you in charge of everything, you’ve been on a magical upswing. Haha, who would have thought? You’re good, girl. And now we need to join forces because these guys are planning sothing big. So I hope Magic and Money will work together again," he said.
