He feared losing everything and for that to not happen, he had to train harder than anyone else to catch up.
"Are you still afraid?"
Adam looked down, his eyes searching hers but she always did her best to hide her face. In the end, Adam answered after kissing her forehead.
"The day all of you leave this world is the day I will stop feeling fear. So, live long and well for , alright?"
Because once he lost everything…There would be nothing else holding him back and Adam knew more than anyone else that the only reason his own morality had yet to completely collapse was because he had things keeping on earth.
People he cared for. People he loved and people he did not want to disappoint.
What about 500 years from now on? What about 1000 years? Or even more? Ten thousand years? Billion of years?
He did not know. He was sure that the Him at that ti would be very different from the Him now.
Intellectually, he knew that he would live long enough to see the birth and death of stars. Would even witness the destruction of the earth or it being swallowed by the sun.
Ti would inevitably change him and when this happens… It was hard to say who would be at his side.
"What about you, Sae? Do you want to share anything with ?"
Adam chased away the thoughts from his mind. His problems were for the future. He would let his future self-deal with them.
For now — He needed to take care of Sae's ntal health.
Sae hesitated a little but in the end, she had her fair share to spread and there were many things she wanted to tell Adam.
"You know…I…Well, I don't really know how to explain in clear words."
Sae closed her eyes while she placed her face against his broad chest. Feeling him so close helped her feel confident and if she had to be honest, all the months she spent in Dreamscape alone helped her imnsely and ntally.
Being able to fight as she wished and controlling so many monsters helped her get control of her own life and made her feel far less helpless than she had been feeling prior.
Ti truly had a way of healing all wounds.
"I was shocked, you know? When I saw everything that happened. Well, frightened would be the exact word."
Up until that day, Sae had been a normal young adult woman. A little too horny for her own good but that was all.
Things changed on that day.
She discovered a new world and that in the most horrendous way possible. She had literal nightmares for days, jumping at every shadow and fearing what could happen to her.
She felt like she could beco crazy at any mont and in fact, perhaps she did.
"Miss Bishop did her best to take care of my ntal health. Making participate in activities, pushing people towards , and organizing sessions with a psychologist she hired. We would also have daily training with Luvia."
She shook her head, "Speaking of. Take care of Luvia during this trip. She is pretty young and very awkward but she has a big heart."

Adam caressed Sae's hair before kissing her, "I wish I was there with you."
"What matters is that you are here now and being a succubus is pretty cool you know."
Sae was not one to keep dwelling in negativity. Now that she had Adam close to her, all her anxiety had long since lted away.
Without a doubt, she would still have a few nightmares. But she was not the weak girl she once was. She had grown stronger. Both ntally and physically and she knew she could count on Adam.
She could still feel his warm energy swirling in her body and bringing her even more power. Without a doubt, she would evolve fast after this night.
Smiling, she hugged him tightly before finally closing her eyes. "Let's sleep like this?"
"Sure."
Adam closed his eyes. Be it in This place or the real world, Adam could not sleep. But he sure as hell could fake it.
At least closing his eyes would allow him to rest his mind a little bit.
"Have beautiful dreams."
"Sa to you."
Like this, the two of them fell asleep. Even if one of them was only faking it.
For the next few days, Adam neither trained nor fought. For once in a very long while, he simply relaxed and enjoyed life.
Kissing, making love, exploring send overall just having fun with Sae.
From an outsider's perspective, the two of them looked like two newlyweds on their honeymoon.
They would fuck day and night or simply sit atop of hills and gaze at the moonlight.
It was a blissful mont. A mont of rest Adam did not know he needed but surely appreciated.
Finally, the two shared one last night, their bodies mingling together in the oldest dance in the world.
There were no frenetic movents nor unorthodox positions.
They were not fucking like wild beasts. They were making love and as Adam released himself one last ti in her while Sae hugged him with all her strength, the two of them truly felt united.
Their relationship could not be said to have begun in the most healthy way and in the past, they had been more sex buddies than anything else.
Now though, saying that they were simply sex friends would be a disservice to all those involved.
They shared a kiss as Sae muttered, "Starting this relationship with you may have started as more of a hot ot headed decision. But I think this was undoubtedly the best decision in my life. Thank you, Adam."
"You were just a friend to . A very annoying friend but now you are undoubtedly a part of ." Adam chuckled.
They did not share words professing their love at this mont. But the light in their eyes was unmistakable that of love and caring.
