Chapter 665: Chapter 628: The Captured Thunder Angel

As the water level in a certain Blood Lake lowered, Da Fei saw that at the bottom of the lake, a vast black creature, similar to a giant griffin, was bound by thick iron chains and a colossal Array.

Da Fei was taken aback, his brow twitching. It wasn’t a Blood Nest? Then what in the world was this creature?

Thus, Da Fei controlled the Blood Eagle to fly lower for a closer look. Aside from having three pairs of wings, the creature looked just like a griffin. However, it was only when the Blood Eagle circled to its front that Da Fei discovered this "griffin" had a huge human face on its chest! Good grief! Was this so mutant version of the Sphinx? But having a face on the chest was rather... odd, right?

At that mont, the human face suddenly opened its eyes, and its blood-red gaze t the Blood Eagle’s directly. Then, the face began to speak, "Warrior, I am a Thunder Angel captured by Demons, save !"

Da Fei’s jaw dropped in shock. Holy smokes, this was an Angel? It could actually detect the Blood Eagle in Stealth State?

Alright, with the Blood Eagle present, it’s as if I am personally there. Last ti that Douglas could talk to

even after detecting the presence of the Blood Eagle, the issue now is I’m just a Blood Eagle. With so many sturdy chains binding him, how could I save him?

Right at this mont, the lakebed flashed red, and a group of tall Demons with goat heads and holding long whips appeared, cursing and swearing, "Who are you talking to?"

Then without a second word, the Demons surrounded and furiously lashed at the Angel’s human face, causing the Angel to wail in anguish.

The Demons laughed heartily, "The purpose of a mouth is to howl miserably! Hahaha..."

Good grief! Da Fei found it hard to watch any longer. I genuinely can’t save him! I’m powerless even against one chain, not to ntion the ever-present Demon guards.

After all, I was too advanced, discovering sothing that under normal circumstances shouldn’t be discovered. If I really wanted to save him, perhaps I would have to wait until I assembled a massive Angel Army to break through the encirclent.

Regardless, it was still a discovery, so I might as well go back and report to the Angel Girl for so credit. Da Fei took out the Blood Eagle Flute to recall Little Fei, no longer in the mood to farm monsters and head back to the city. Right, farming monsters is a job for noobs and power-levelers; how could soone as busy as I am spend precious ti on such a boring task, even though the feeling of monster farming is indeed very thrilling.

When Da Fei returned to the city gate, he was greeted with warm blessings from the Angel Girls on the castle wall, his body flashing with golden light.

Ror also greeted him, "Warrior, welco back."

Da Fei got straight to the point, "Miss garrison officer, I just scouted a Blood Lake on the outskirts of Despair Plain that spawns Chaos Demons. When the lake water receded, there was a Thunder Angel at the bottom claiming to be captured by Demons and asking for help. How can he be rescued?"

Ror’s expression changed, "You actually managed to scout the situation behind enemy lines?"

Da Fei chuckled, "Yes, I am a Primary Sentinel, and I have very powerful Reconnaissance Eagles."

Ror said earnestly, "The Thunder Angel you ntioned must be an Ancient Angel who fell during the war between Heaven and Hell ten thousand years ago. The fact that he could ask you for help ans he hasn’t completely fallen. We are deeply saddened by his plight, but we lack the power to save him now. Perhaps, it might be possible once you, Warrior, grow stronger."

So I was really too advanced? A sense of lancholy filled Da Fei, and he couldn’t help but wonder, "What is an Ancient Angel?"

Ror shook her head and said seriously, "Legend has it that when God was creating the world, He used His own form as the blueprint and created seven Creator Angels to assist Him in creating the world. Then, these seven angels, in order to better complete God’s mission, created so functional angels to assist them. Angels of that period, with multiple eyes and hands, were endowed with great power and physical bodies, and usually were not human-shaped. Those are Ancient Angels, not the sa concept as our current generation of angels whose power is limited and who don’t have real bodies. Ancient Angels are the closest to God in terms of power and the most likely to beco gods. Currently, in Hell’s 72 pillars, there are quite a few who were once Ancient Angels."

Da Fei nodded: "I see!" Indeed, current angels indeed do not have physical bodies, and when killed, they turn into a beam of light and disappear.

Ror continued: "Also, because Ancient Angels are powerful and have physical bodies, when demons capture Ancient Angels, it is possible for them to find a way to defeat us angels. Therefore, Warrior, when you beco strong, even if you can’t rescue him, you must find a way to kill him. That would be the best release for him."

Holy moly! The one captured isn’t you, you’re talking about it so lightly! But don’t worry, beauty, if you get captured, I will save you at all costs no matter what.

I have to say, it’s quite relaxing and enjoyable to chat with a beauty like Ror in such a dim and dark setting, so Da Fei, who was just making conversation, asked, "By the way, the Thunder Angel I just saw looked like a huge Griffin. Is there any connection between Thunder Angels and Griffins?"

Ror smiled and said: "You are truly a Warrior. Griffins are actually descendants of Ancient Angels. You should know the status of Griffins in the Human Kingdom, right?"

Da Fei suddenly realized! No wonder so Griffins in the wild giving treasures reward angels, and the defenders of Griffin Castles are also angels; they really are one big Griffin Angel family.

Da Fei continued to ask: "Since Griffins are descendants of Thunder Angels, do the oldest Griffins release lightning?"

Ror shook her head and laughed: "Warrior, I think you have many other things to do, it’s not the ti to discuss Griffins, right? Griffins, as creatures of this mortal realm, are unable to play a role here. It would be better to think of a way to rescue that Thunder Angel."

Da Fei smiled sheepishly: "I am currently collecting information on the Thunder Angel to plan for the rescue!"

Holy moly, I’m so busy, I’m going to New Oriental to save Catherine’s father soon, when will there be a later?

Wait a minute, all of a sudden, Da Fei rembered sothing, this Thunder Angel, just like Douglas before, was communicating with

through the Blood Eagle. Do they have sothing in common? Yes, they are both divine beings! Especially Ancient Angels, the closest to God, calling them Demigods wouldn’t be an overstatent, right? If that’s the case—

Da Fei imdiately took out a Douglas Wind Elent Divine Level Fragnt from his bag and asked: "Miss Ror, if I feed this Wind Elent’s Divine Level Fragnt to that Ancient Angel, can it be rescued?"

"Divine Level Fragnt?!" Ror’s face changed dramatically, shocked: "Warrior, how do you possess such a thing?"

Hahaha! That’s the expression I’m looking for, raising my coolness in an instant!

Da Fei asked with a smile: "Would it be effective if the Thunder Angel consud it?"

Ror let out a long sigh: "I think... if it fails, it would be a huge waste! However, if it succeeds, we could gain the alliance of a powerful Ancient Angel and perhaps we could change the passive situation of Divine Punishnt City. Either way, it’s worth a try!"

Oh yeah! If the NPC says it can work, then it will!
