’I don’t get it.’

’Get real.’

’What does she even an by that?’

Roe was shocked.

’They paired us together and that’s how she wants to act.’

’She’s no team player.’

Roe was deflecting.

He wasn’t addressing the issue at hand or even trying to understand for that matter.

’What did I do wrong?’

’? There’s no way I’m at fault,’ he thought.

’Solomon’s the one who paired us.’

Roe looked around.

It was then he noticed.

No one was fighting in pairs.

’Then why the pairing though?’

Everyone was moving at their own pace.

There was no obligation to soone else.

No syncing of attacks.

The mages lacked coordination but it seed to work for them.

Ursula would strike.

Gwen cast a spell.

Max followed with mana beams.

They served no master on the field.

They lived for their own highs.

All of them.

Roe ca to understand this.

His realization ca late, but it ca at least.

’I’m an energy type.’

’I don’t know what spells I can use easily.’

’This will probably be my biggest problem.’

’Spells.’

’I can’t just go around using mana beams. That’s inefficient.’

’I may have the mana but that would still be an unwise card to play.’

’I should have asked Solomon before partaking in this exercise.’

Roe was behind.

He really was.

He’d never known how to ask the right questions.

He was used to figuring things out himself.

First he didn’t confirm his talent type.

This detrint followed through even till now.

At first, it affected his ability to handle that sample rift earlier, or it would have affected it.

Now it’s most definitely making him a log that can float.

’Sink.’

’Think.’

’I’ve got to turn this thing around.’

’First thing I do after this exercise, I’ll talk business with Solomon.’

’No more stringing along.’

’I don’t get why I can’t tell them my rank or why he doesn’t tell them I created my own staff.’

’He must have his reasons but since it concerns , I think I deserve to know.’

He slapped his cheeks.

Both sides.

"Snap out of it," he said.

"None of that is relevant right now."

"Right now, what I have to do is simple."

"I’ve got to clear as much of these monsters I can."

"Solomon said he’ll assess us on every task he gives us to know if we are worthy to leave this realm eventually."

"These guys haven’t left."

"I wonder how long they’ve been here."

Ursula smashed through another.

"Space talent No. 167. Magnification."

Ursula’s leg grew in magnitude.

Just her right leg.

She used her left to initiate a spin and sliced right through a whole bunch of them.

’Impressive.’

"Ice talent No. 67. Quick Fall!" Max shouted.

Icicles dropped from the sky.

"Watch out guys!" he shouted.

The icicles pierced through monsters covering a particular distance.

He smiled.

Ursula did not.

An icicle almost hit her as she was in the center.

She was about to initiate another attack as she was in the center.

It would be too dangerous if she remained amongst the monsters for that long.

She powered up.

"Space talent No. 164...."

Before she could continue, the entire surface was filled with light.

Everyone looked to Gwen.

She wasn’t casting a spell.

In an instant the barrier crumbled.

They all fell downwards.

They reached for their staffs to ease their descent.

Most of them made the fall on their own.

Not all though.

Not all of them noticed that Gwen didn’t cast the spell.

"What was that all about Gwen?" John asked.

"What do you an?" she replied.

He pointed upward.

Gwen wasn’t fast enough to react.

Julian was the one who aided her.

She looked up and only then had she realized.

The barrier was gone.

The rift started closing.

All the monsters vaporized.

"That... that wasn’t ," she said.

"You think I did that?"

"You seriously think I did that?" she restated.

"I don’t know what to think," John said.

Julian tried to calm them down.

He saw what caused that light.

Before he could say anything, Roe stepped forward.

"It was ."

"What?" They were all shocked.

"Are you sure?" Max asked.

Ursula doubted.

’He’s probably lying.’

’I guess he’s one of those types who take the bla to help their friends.’

’Pathetic,’ she thought.

Max didn’t quite get it.

"You’re an energy type, but co on."

"Light energy on your first go at it? Impossible," John said.

"Even if it wasn’t your first go, that would still be way too impressive," Julian followed.

"Who said anything about light energy?" Solomon cut in.

"What do you an Master?" Ursula asked.

Everyone was talking too much.

’I can’t stand all this talk,’ he thought.

"That was no spell."

"It was a simple mana beam," Roe said.

They all looked in shock.

"That’s impossible," Ursula said.

They all turned to her.

They were surprised she would react like that openly.

She always seed to put up an ’I don’t care’ attitude.

’Shit,’ she thought.

"Master, could you explain?" Julian asked.

"Well you see...."

Solomon paused.

He made a very funny expression.

Roe collapsed to the ground that instant.

They wanted to rush him but Solomon assured them that he’d be fine.

"This was all just poor mana control."

"You see, the mont he began supplying mana to his staff he never stopped."

"It would seem that as ti went on, he applied it with even more mana."

"This resulted in that expansive mana beam that cleared the entire rift," Solomon said.

’It also destroyed the barrier which was surprising,’ he thought.

He didn’t want to say this.

He didn’t want to brew any conspiracy among his students.

"The mana he supplied was probably everything in his reserves, that’s why he collapsed just now," Solomon added.

"Don’t worry, he’ll be fine."

"Wow, this Roe kid is impressive," John said.

Gwen just pouted.

"Apologize."

"Apologize," she said.

"Fine, okay."

John placed his hand on his head and said he was sorry for doubting her.

’That mana was all his.’

Ursula thought.

’If he was supplying mana to his staff continuously for that long.....’

’What, upwards of 5 minutes....’

’What kind of reserves does he have?’

’His staff didn’t even react so I guess it’s also superhuman.’

’No cool down.’

She finally spoke.

Deliberately this ti.

"S rank you said."

"Is that a question and if so, is that being directed at ?" Solomon asked.

"You know it is."
