The figure who erged was a middle aged man with sharp and resolute features. He stepped forward before the High Priestess and bowed respectfully.

"What matter could possibly require the High Priestess to personally deliver the news?" Wilford asked.

He was the Great Elder of the Moonfall Clan.

"The Soul Jades of Seventh Elder Werner and First Class Shadow Guard Erna have shattered."

"Their deaths have been confird."

The High Priestess spoke calmly.

Her voice was steady and unhurried.

Yet those words were like a teor crashing into the sea, sending violent waves crashing through Wilford's heart.

Dead?

For a mont Wilford suspected he had misheard.

Or perhaps the High Priestess was making so strange joke.

But he imdiately rejected that thought.

The High Priestess would never joke with anyone.

"Dead?"

"Is the High Priestess certain of this?"

Wilford found it difficult to believe.

After all that was the Seventh Elder.

Alongside him was Erna, a top tier Shadow Guard personally cultivated by the Moonfall Clan. Her cultivation had already reached the peak of the Ultimate Supre realm.

As for the Seventh Elder himself, he was an even more formidable Perfect Supre.

With the two of them working together, who could possibly kill them?

Even if Wilford personally took action, eliminating both of them simultaneously would not be easy.

Experts of that level were extrely cautious.

Each possessed nurous life saving thods and hidden trump cards.

To kill them required absolute overwhelming power and ticulous preparation.

"It is true."

"These are their Soul Jades. Great Elder may examine them personally."

The High Priestess stepped forward and opened her palm.

Two purple jade pendants rested within her hand.

Both had shattered into fragnts.

The soul essence inside them had completely vanished. The fragnts of jade had lost all their brilliance and appeared dull and lifeless.

"..."

Wilford took the broken Soul Jades.

His expression grew darker.

The shattered jade and extinguished soul essence left no doubt.

The Seventh Elder and Erna had truly died.

"Why?"

"Who dared to do this?"

Wilford clenched his fists tightly. Rage flashed within his eyes as he crushed the Soul Jade fragnts into powder.

"The Seventh Elder and Erna were stationed in Flying Snow City."

"Within a thousand miles of that city there is no force capable of threatening them. Not even demons."

"Furthermore the City Lord of Flying Snow City, Darron, is also a peak Ultimate Supre."

"How could the Seventh Elder and Erna fall?"

Wilford's mind was filled with confusion.

Yet the fury burning inside him was even stronger.

Throughout the White North Ice Field, who did not know the na of the Moonfall Clan?

It was one of the ancient clans.

Yet soone had dared to kill mbers of their clan.

Such an act was blatant provocation.

It was a direct insult to the prestige of the Moonfall Clan.

"I request that the High Priestess perform a divination for the Seventh Elder and find the murderer."

Wilford cupped his hands respectfully.

"The clan inford earlier."

"Before coming here I had already t with the Clan Head and perford a divination at the ancestral altar."

The High Priestess replied calmly.

Wilford's eyes flashed.

He asked quickly.

"High Priestess, what result did you obtain?"

"..."

The High Priestess held her staff and slowly turned toward the west.

Then she silently shook her head.

Wilford froze in place.

The aning was obvious.

The High Priestess had failed to discover the identity of the murderer.

This result shocked him deeply.

Although the High Priestess had only held her position for a few decades, her abilities in astrology and divination were extraordinary.

Her experience might not yet match the previous High Priest.

Yet she still possessed sixty to seventy percent of his ability.

Since taking office she had conducted many divinations for the clan.

Not once had she failed.

Why had she failed this ti?

What exactly was happening?

"Even the High Priestess cannot find the murderer?"

"What background does this person possess?"

Wilford was completely puzzled.

"The art of divination involves observing heavenly secrets."

"Observing heavenly secrets requires paying an equivalent price."

"The more one attempts to see, the greater the price."

"The failure this ti is partly because my cultivation is inferior to his."

"The other reason is that the fate carried by the murderer is too heavy. The karma surrounding him is too great."

"Even if I sacrificed my life, I could not glimpse even a fragnt of it."

The High Priestess spoke calmly.

Wilford frowned deeply.

"Even sacrificing your life would not work?"

"What origin does this killer have?"

"I do not know."

"I have already done everything within my ability."

"The rest depends on you."

The High Priestess paused briefly.

"What I can tell you is this."

"Because of this person, the originally clear and stable future of the Moonfall Clan has beco blurred."

"For the Moonfall Clan, this person is a tribulation."

"If he is eliminated, the Moonfall Clan will move from darkness into light."

"If he is not eliminated, the clan will suffer an imnse catastrophe."

Her tone remained calm.

But the final sentence carried heavy emphasis.

"My clan's tribulation..."

Wilford clenched his fists tightly.

At this mont the Moonfall Clan stood at the crucial stage of devouring the Riverborn Clan.

For soone like this to suddenly appear made him extrely displeased.

The Moonfall Clan had existed for countless years.

Yet now their destiny was being affected by a person they had never even t.

"I will take my leave."

"I believe the Clan Head will soon summon you back to the clan to discuss this matter."

The High Priestess turned and left after speaking.

She had barely walked a short distance before transforming into a streak of light and disappearing.

"Damn it!"

"Who did this?!"

Wilford ground his teeth and roared furiously.

A violent shockwave burst outward from his body.

The ground trembled.

The mountains shook.

Large rocks rolled down from the surrounding slopes.

"Flying Snow City."

"The Seventh Elder and Erna died there."

Wilford suddenly rembered sothing.

He turned and walked back into the cavern.

The cavern served as a command center.

A massive map was mounted on the stone wall.

In the center stood an enormous sand table that replicated the terrain of the White North Ice Field.

Wilford first looked up at the map.

Then he placed both hands on the edge of the sand table and studied it carefully.

After a mont he reached out and planted a flag at the southern edge of the White North Ice Field.

The flag stood beside the position representing Flying Snow City.

"Flying Snow City is located at the southern border of the White North Ice Field. A thousand miles in every direction falls under the jurisdiction of my Moonfall Clan."
