Now, it was ti for her to repay his kindness.
"Quickly," Jason said in a low voice, his tone no longer hesitant, "follow the roe deer boss just now."
The driver cracked the reins. The carriage rolled into Blue-Wave City, picking up speed as it chased after Ethan's fading figure.
Jason leaned back, his gaze landing on the slender girl standing quietly beside him.
"Laura," he said slowly, "you're talented in cultivation. Staying with … there's no future."
He paused, choosing his words carefully.
"I've decided to find you a good family."
"…."
Laura fell silent.
She understood exactly what he ant.
Dedication.
To hand her over to the terrifying roe deer just now, in exchange for safety, goodwill, and perhaps survival.
Yet she did not resist.
Instead, she lowered her eyes slightly and smiled.
"It's all according to the master's instructions."
Jason's fingers tightened slightly.
He had adopted Laura when she was still young, raised her, trained her, and shaped her into what she was today. Her life, in a sense, had been given by him.
She would never refuse his command.
And perhaps… Jason thought bitterly… perhaps this really was her better future.
After all, that roe deer was not only powerful, but of the sa race as her.
A great demon.
A hidden monster.
If she followed him, her cultivation path might truly open.
The carriage continued forward, disappearing into the bustling streets of Blue-Wave City.
.....
After entering the city, Ethan lifted his head.
Above him, buildings floated layer upon layer, so suspended in midair, others anchored to towering stone pillars that pierced the clouds. Spiritual light flickered between structures, forming bridges, platforms, and invisible pathways.
Demons walked the streets without restraint.
The ground-level roads were wide and spotless, paved with dark jade-like stone that faintly glowed underfoot. Formations humd softly beneath the city, forming an endless, low vibration that rged into the background like the breathing of a colossal beast.
"This place…"
Ethan narrowed his eyes.
"…really is a treasure."
He could clearly sense it now.
Beneath Blue-Wave City lay a gigantic combined formation—an ancient spirit-gathering formation of staggering scale. The spiritual energy of heaven and earth here was already dense to begin with, the barrier between Heaven and Earth.
The formation did not rely gather energy.
It refined it.
Compressed it.
Purified it.
No wonder cultivation here was rumored to be worth ten days, even half a month, compared to the outside world.
The Purple Tenuity star position recorded on the stone tablet lay directly beneath this city.
This was no coincidence.
Part of the city's cultivation advantage ca from the massive formation, but the other part—more crucial—ca from the remnants left behind by the Star Emperor himself.
Unlike the Heavenly Lake, whose ruins were still buried and unopened, the relics beneath Blue-Wave City had likely already been partially discovered. Otherwise, such monstrous forces would never have gathered here in such density.
Yet Ethan remained calm.
The true core of the Star Emperor's inheritance—where the star formation resided—could only be opened by those who possessed the Nine Emperors Dao Body and the incomplete stone tablet.
Without both, the most these forces could do was scrape at the outer layers.
The heart of the ruins would still be sealed.
"First Blue-Wave Tower," Ethan thought.
"Then fishing."
"Then seclusion."
Everything had its order.
He walked forward at an unhurried pace, observing the streets as he went. In just a quarter of an hour, he reached the center of the city.
There, a circular river surrounded a towering pavilion like a jade belt.
Four arch bridges stretched across the water from the cardinal directions, each carved from white jade and engraved with ancient demonic runes.
At the center stood a massive structure.
Blue-Wave Tower.
Golden plaques shimred in the sunlight, and the entire pavilion radiated authority and pressure. Even from afar, Ethan could feel layers of restriction formations stacked upon one another.
This was the true heart of Blue-Wave City.
On his way here, Ethan had gathered plenty of information.
The Palace of the Four Cycles was the undisputed ruler of Blue-Wave City and the surrounding region.
Domineering.
Absolute.
All rules within the city were set by them.
The Palace itself consisted of four ancient demon clans:
The Wind Sable, the Golden Phoenix Clan, the Tengu Clan and the White Tiger Clan.
Each possessed terrifying bloodlines passed down from ancient tis.
Among them, the Golden Phoenix Clan stood above the rest.
A mythical beast lineage.
The Palace of the Four Cycles was, in truth, dominated by the Golden Phoenix Clan.
The "Four Cycles" represented the four clans, each with a palace master of Ultimate Supre-level combat power.
Above them stood the chief palace master—rumored to be a Perfect Supre.
The saintess of the Palace of the Four Cycles, Daughter of the chief palace master.
One of the most talented existence in the demon territory.
Among her generation, her talent was said to rank within the top five—perhaps even the top three.
Her combat power was comparable to that of a true Supre expert.
There were rumors that she had once confronted an Ultimate Demon Lord and escaped unscathed.
Such an achievent alone was enough to crush countless geniuses beneath her feet.
The Palace of the Four Cycles considered itself the lord of Blue-Wave City and dominated the northwest of the demon territory with iron authority.
With their proximity to the Heavenly Water Mountains, they naturally seized control of the training trial quotas.
Thirteen in total.
Eight belonged directly to the Palace of the Four Cycles.
The remaining five would be distributed—if the Palace so pleased.
Who received them depended on nothing but the Palace's mood.
"Palace of the Four Cycles…"
Ethan's gaze settled on the towering pavilion before him.
Aside from the golden plaque of Blue-Wave Tower, four massive totems were engraved into the structure—Wind Sable, Golden Phoenix, Tengu, and White Tiger.
Each radiated ancient pressure.
Each proclaid dominance.
This place belonged to the Palace of the Four Cycles.
No one dared to challenge it.
With such strength, they could indeed walk sideways for a thousand miles.
Any outsider who displeased them would likely vanish without a trace.
Ethan stepped onto the White Jade Bridge and crossed the river calmly.
At the gate of Blue-Wave Tower, guards stood in disciplined rows.
So had fully assud human form.
Others retained prominent demonic traits—tails, horns, feathers—intentionally displaying their bloodline pride and authority.
Blue-Wave Tower had four gates, each corresponding to one of the four clans.
The gate Ethan approached belonged to the Golden Phoenix Clan.
The guard standing there was clad in radiant golden armor, engraved with phoenix patterns that shimred faintly with spiritual light.
