Ethan’s roar shook the heavens themselves.
Before the echo faded, Asher’s world of intent burst apart like a shattered domain. His figure elongated into a streak of blood-red light, ripping across the battlefield like a crimson cot straight at Thousand Faces’ true body.
A mocking curl lifted Asher’s lips.
"Thousand Faces... you still couldn’t help yourself."
"You wanted to strike Ethan and flee? Ridiculous. Your petty sche was already seen through by the genius physical cultivator of my Blood Tavern!"
Bloodlust surged around him like a tidal wave, drowning the world.
"Holy-grade spiritual thod—Blood-Singing Sword!!"
WHOOM—!!
Blood-coloured sword intent roared out, erupting into a sea of violent crimson flas that engulfed the forest. Space trembled. The ground cracked open. Even Thousand Faces’ _soul_ felt violently constricted.
A chill crawled up his spine.
—This sword intent was terrifying.
—A blood ocean devouring everything.
His expression darkened sharply.
Ethan baited .
And I fell for it.
"Ethan saw through my plan. Staying here longer is a death wish. Retreat!"
Without hesitation, Thousand Faces hurled his clone forward.
The clone lunged toward Ethan and Asher— And then—
BOOOOOOM!!!
The explosion tore the world apart.
Soil erupted. Trees were uprooted. Smoke and shockwaves rolled outward like apocalyptic thunder. Thousand Faces’ true body used the chaos to sprint away, vanishing like a fleeing specter.
But Ethan’s cold voice sliced through the destruction:
"Can you run?"
He raised his hand.
"Dragon Prisoner Lock!"
Clang—! CLANG—!! CLANG—!!!
Golden chains burst forth like divine serpents. Dozens lashed out, twisting together midair and forming a colossal cage of tal.
Thousand Faces’ escape froze instantly.
Then— A faint black liquid slithered along one chain... almost invisible... and seeped directly into Thousand Faces’ body.
His face twisted.
"The Riverborn family’s holy chain...?!**"
Heaven itself seed to be mocking him.
But—he wasn’t done yet.
He raised both palms, fingers weaving an obscure, ancient seal.
"The Thirty-Six Supre thods of Celestial Fiend— Heaven and Earth Reversal: Change bodies, shift positions!"
The air rippled.
Space twisted.
In the blink of an eye—
Thousand Faces vanished. And where his clone had stood—
His true body materialized.
Inside the Dragon Prisoner Lock cage?
—Was now only the corpse of his clone.
Ethan and Asher both stiffened.
"That technique can... swap positions across distance?!"
"What kind of divine technique is this?" Asher muttered in shock.
Ethan’s jaw tightened.
"You can even trade places? A holy-grade secret technique? Or sothing beyond that?!"
He didn’t dare hesitate.
"Chaos Clock!**"
A dark golden Clock materialized instantly.
BOOM—!!
Red-gold light surged out, swallowing the world. The artifact expanded to a mountain-sized clock, its presence alone crushing the air around it.
Ethan poured every ounce of recovered energy into it—
"Suppress!"
The Chaos Clock plumted like a divine judgnt hamr.
The Dragon Prisoner Lock bought just enough ti.
It was all he needed.
The colossal clock slamd down— And Thousand Faces froze completely.
His limbs stiffened.
His blood stopped circulating.
Even his soul halted mid-struggle.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
"Ethan! You can actually activate an artifact?! Why didn’t you use it earlier!?"
Ethan’s voice was cold, rciless.
"This strike was prepared specifically for you. Without your true body showing itself, why would I waste it?"
"Thousand Faces—your sche ends here."
"Prepare to die."
"DAMN YOU!!"
Thousand Faces struggled wildly, but the Chaos Clock’s suppressive might was absolute, ancient, immovable.
"Heaven and Earth Reversal... activate...!!"
He tried to chant silently.
—but it was useless.
The artifact’s might crushed even his technique.
"This isn’t an ordinary artifact... Not even Heaven and Earth Reversal can break through!" he hissed.
His face twisted with ferocity and resignation.
"There’s only one choice left... the final form!"
Hatred and killing intent surged from his eyes.
"Ethan... I will rember this!! Next ti—we will see whose bones will scatter first!"
Then—
"Supre secret thod— Heaven and Earth Reversal: FINAL FORM!"
"Disintegration!"
Thousand Faces’ body split apart— Body and soul forcibly separated!
His eyes burned with venom as he glared one last ti.
"Reverse ti and space... alter cause and effect... substitute life body— CONNECT!!"
WrrrrrrrRRRUM—!!
A warped vortex tore open behind him.
A door made of twisted ti, distorted space, collapsing reality.
It yanked Thousand Faces’ soul into its depths— And then vanished.
Gone.
Traces erased.
Ethan’s pupils contracted violently.
"His soul... vanished?! He actually escaped through space itself!"
"He escaped even the Chaos Clock?!"
Onyx Orchid’s urgent voice echoed in his mind:
"That is the reversal of ti and space—rewriting cause and effect! The Heaven and Earth Reversal technique from the Thirty-Six Supre thods of Celestial Fiend!!"
Ethan stiffened.
"Celestial Fiend Thirty-Six thods... what exactly is that?"
Onyx spoke in a solemn, heavy tone:
"Lysander Celestial Fiend—one of the mightiest human emperors of the End of Dharma Era. A peerless monster who was said to have touched the ultimate aning of power—rumored to have transcended the emperor realm entirely!"
"He perceived the Original Stone Tablet and created thirty-six supre thods... each surpassing divine techniques!"
"Heaven and Earth Reversal was the strongest. Not a killing art—but one capable of reversing ti, space, and cause!"
"These thirty-six thods vanished after the emperor’s fall. For thirty thousand years, no one has ever cultivated even one."
"But today... Thousand Faces proved that at least one thod still exists!"
Ethan’s expression darkened.
"Damn it... he escaped!"
A man like Thousand Faces— Filled with secrets, ancient inheritances, and unfathomable thods— Was ten tis more dangerous than he expected.
Asher finally reached him, face grim.
"What happened? I can’t sense him at all—it’s like he vanished from the world."
"His body is still here," Ethan replied, lifting it.
"He abandoned it and escaped as a soul."
Asher clicked his tongue.
"A technique that even an artifact can’t restrict... He’s a walking treasure trove."
"But don’t get discouraged," Asher smirked, clapping Ethan’s shoulder.
"Once you reach Supre Realm, your artifact will unleash far greater might. Thousand Faces won’t run forever. You’ll crush him eventually."
Ethan nodded faintly.
He wasn’t disappointed.
Just... shocked.
Thousand Faces was truly a coward among cowards.
Ethan inspected the corpse.
Not even a storage ring remained.
"He prepared for this..."
"What a cunning beast."
But the corpse itself— Supre Realm— Was a priceless treasure. Cultivating a Supre Heart from it would not be difficult.
Ethan stored the body away.
Then—
Onyx Orchid’s voice suddenly exploded in his consciousness.
"I found him—go to the bottom of the lake quickly!"
